After I Moved Seven Times, the Seven Yandere Childhood Sweethearts Still Found Me Every Single Time - Chapter 13:
Chapter 13: The Whole Story
“Lou Yuxi.”
As memory and reality synchronized, Luo Chenxuan, who was now tightly embraced by the Boss Gui Hu, softly called out that name.
Gui Hu’s grip around him tightened even more. “Yes… it’s me… your one and only Yuxi~”
Thoughts and memories tangled together, and a flood of emotions surged. From that day on, the two had officially become good friends.
Young Luo Chenxuan began splitting his lunch money each day, giving a portion to Lou Yuxi so she could have proper meals. At first, she refused. But Luo Chenxuan insisted they eat together—and if she didn’t eat, he wouldn’t eat either. After a long standoff, Lou Yuxi finally gave in.
It wasn’t until Lou Yuxi spoke for the first time that Luo Chenxuan realized she was actually a girl. The boys’ school uniform she wore was stolen from a graduate—no wonder it looked baggy on her, like a sack draped over her body.
Gradually, their bond grew stronger. Luo Chenxuan stayed with her during breaks, ate lunch with her, and walked her home after school, parting ways at the first intersection.
He began asking for a little more lunch money than usual. When his mother asked why, he simply said he was growing and needed more food.
Lou Yuxi had started speaking occasionally. She shared fragments of her story and would give faint, gentle smiles. Her messy hair was now tied up, and she didn’t look quite so scruffy anymore. But she was still often injured. Whenever Luo Chenxuan asked, she just said she had accidentally bumped into something.
Still, the rest of the class looked down on her—and, to some extent, Luo Chenxuan as well.
Time passed, and Lou Yuxi slowly began to open up to him.
“We’re here~” Luo Chenxuan had run ahead to the intersection. Lou Yuxi followed slowly, her head down.
“Mm… goodbye.” She turned and walked in the opposite direction.
They had known each other for over a month. Luo Chenxuan had once asked if he could walk her a little farther, but she had firmly refused. Every time, it was the same.
At first, he thought nothing of it. But the more it happened, the more curious he became. So, after watching her walk off again, he quietly followed her from behind.
She walked slower and slower. It looked like her feet were bound with iron weights—each step seemed to take all the strength and courage she had.
Luo Chenxuan kept a distance, trailing her until she slipped into a narrow, nondescript alley and disappeared from view.
He jogged up to the entrance and peeked inside.
The alley was damp and dark. A putrid smell hung in the air. Rats scurried across the path, unafraid of humans, as if they were the true masters of this place and humans were the intruders.
To the right of the alley were several wooden doors—rotten and worn, weathered by moisture and wind. It looked like no one would live here.
Luo Chenxuan hesitated. Just stepping into this place felt mentally unbearable.
“But… why is Lou Yuxi going here? Is this… her home?” he murmured. Coming from a relatively good family, he couldn’t understand—he had never known that not everyone got to have a happy, carefree childhood.
While he stood there, hesitating—
A hysterical scream echoed from within the alley.
“Why did you come back! Get out! As far away as possible! I don’t want to see you!”
The voice was deranged, sharp, terrifying.
Luo Chenxuan shivered. How could a child endure something like that?
His first instinct was to run away.
But then Lou Yuxi’s face flashed through his mind.
He clenched his fists and quietly crept inside.
Most of the doors looked abandoned. Inside, the rooms were empty, spiderwebs covering every corner, dust blanketing the floors—this place had long been forgotten.
He continued forward until he saw a door slightly ajar. Though also dilapidated, it was in better shape than the rest.
From inside, he heard the woman’s crazed shouting again—accompanied by sounds of punching and kicking. His heart jumped into his throat. His hands trembled uncontrollably. What could he do? Rush in? He was just a kid. This was a lawless place. Who could help him?
Then he noticed a damp rock beside him.
“I’ve got an idea.”
He gently pulled open the rotting door to the next room, slipped into the dust-filled space, picked up the rock, and hurled it hard at Lou Yuxi’s open door before quickly ducking behind the door to hide.
Though the door was falling apart, Luo Chenxuan’s small body was completely concealed behind it.
Clang! The rock slammed against the wood. The woman inside went silent.
She slowly stepped outside, glancing around.
Luo Chenxuan dared not make a sound. He didn’t know if she had stopped beating Lou Yuxi. Worried the first rock hadn’t worked, he threw a handful of small stones toward the door.
They hit her square on the head.
Coincidentally, the woman had just turned to look in the other direction.
Stunned, she exploded with rage, cursing as she stomped toward him.
Luo Chenxuan’s heart pounded in terror. He covered his mouth with both hands.
She cursed as she walked toward him, reaching for the door where he hid.
Just then, a man appeared at the alley’s entrance.
He was drunk, having lost money again, full of resentment. When he saw the woman, he had finally found a target to vent his anger on. He grabbed her hair and dragged her away, shouting and hitting her.
Luo Chenxuan peeked out. Seeing the man abusing the woman, he crept out of hiding.
Lou Yuxi huddled in her corner. She was used to this kind of noise, but still trembled faintly.
She missed Luo Chenxuan. She wanted to see him, to be with him. Only then did she feel at ease.
The more she thought, the more wronged she felt, and tears ran down her cheeks.
Even she was surprised. She was used to this life. Why was she crying over something like this? Her heart was supposed to be dead.
Yes, her heart had long died.
At least—it should have…
“Come with me!”
Through her blurry vision, Lou Yuxi looked up. Luo Chenxuan stood before her, reaching out his hand.
“An illusion? Have I missed him so much that I’m hallucinating?” Lou Yuxi gave a bitter smile.
Luo Chenxuan didn’t wait for a reply. This wasn’t some drama. They didn’t have the luxury of chatting about life and dreams.
He grabbed her wrist and yanked her up.
Lou Yuxi stood there, shocked and blank. She let him pull her along.
They ran.
The man, hearing the commotion, turned his head and saw the two fleeing figures. He cursed and charged after them.
But the woman he’d just been beating suddenly hugged his leg tightly and wouldn’t let go.
The two children ran, never daring to look back.
Luo Chenxuan’s legs were nearly numb before he finally slowed down.
Lou Yuxi panted heavily while Luo Chenxuan collapsed to the ground.
“We finally got out…”
Lou Yuxi stared at him. “Why were you at my house?”
“It’s a long story. Let’s go a bit farther first.”
Luo Chenxuan reached out, trying to lead her onward.
But Lou Yuxi lowered her head in silence.
“Where else can I go…?”
He paused, realizing that escaping was only temporary.
But what else could they do?
“Come with me. To my house. My mom will definitely like you!”
And in that moment, that heart of hers—the one that was supposed to be dead—
That should have stopped beating—
Came alive again with hope.
