“Hello? Mom? What? A blind date this Friday? Haven’t you already set up several of these?” He Li walked and spoke with a voice full of helplessness. “Why are you constantly trying to get me to go on blind dates?”

“It’s true! I’ll explain in detail later!” He Li hastily cut her off and hung up, afraid that if she kept talking, his lie would be exposed.

He stuffed his phone back in his pocket and exhaled. “I need to find someone fast to patch this up!”

As he pondered, he unknowingly walked past a newly opened luxury goods store and paused in confusion.

Wasn’t this the shop that used to be completely deserted?

Why is there a crowd today?

“Oh come on, don’t be so stingy. You’re a grown man!” she teased with a grin. “Yes, you’re good-looking, but letting me hold your shoulder won’t cost you anything, will it?”

Her bright smile made it hard to stay annoyed. Plus, her figure… He Li could distinctly feel the soft touch against his shoulder. That sensation was crystal clear… Ahem! He quickly shook his head to refocus.

The girl didn’t seem to notice his reaction and leaned in closer, whispering, “This store is running a couples’ event and they’re selling limited edition XN brand couple bags. Just pretend to be my boyfriend until I buy it, and we’re done.”

“How about it? Please?” Her sparkling eyes blinked as she pleaded with him.

He Li was speechless. “Why me? There are plenty of guys around. Ask one of them.”

“They’re not as good-looking as you. Come on, give me some face.” She pouted. “Fine, I’ll even pay you, okay? And I’m really pretty—wait till you see. You won’t lose anything by pretending to be my boyfriend.”

She continued to plead without shame, but she wasn’t lying.

He Li, standing tall at 1.8 meters with a handsome face, was definitely attractive to women. If he had any interest in relationships, he would’ve had a girlfriend by now. The girl had picked him because he fit her taste.
