Chapter 2: If I Could Do It Over Again, I Would Choose Li Bai.

Li Sha wasn’t picky. Downstairs in the Western restaurant, she casually ordered a plate of pasta.

After pulling an all-nighter, her appetite was never great.

She ate slowly, dragging it out, and only returned upstairs after nearly half an hour.

The moment she stepped out of the elevator, she suddenly noticed a female figure walking out from the room next to hers.

There were only four rooms on this floor.

Two on each side of the elevator. The room next to hers…

Wasn’t that the couple who had just caused such earth-shaking commotion?

Li Sha felt both disdainful and curious, her eyes widening involuntarily.

The man was still inside the room, so she couldn’t see his appearance.

But the woman stood outside.

Her figure was quite good—she wore a black dress, her shoulders half-exposed, her curves graceful and slender.

As for her face, it wasn’t bad, but it depended on who you compared her to.

Compared to ordinary girls on the street, she could be considered delicate and pleasant.

But compared to someone like Li Sha, a woman of refined beauty and temperament, she seemed somewhat ordinary.

Of course, what Li Sha noticed most was her skin.

It looked as if it had been fully hydrated, soft and dewy.

The flush left from the earlier “battle” hadn’t faded yet.

That rosy, tender glow made even Li Sha feel a hint of envy.

Because of her work, she often stayed up all night. Her skin had become much worse compared to her student days…

“Delete my WeChat. Since we’ve broken up, don’t contact me anymore.”

The woman’s words made Li Sha’s heart jolt.

What did that mean?

Breaking up and still tearing down walls?

A so-called breakup fling?

Li Sha instinctively slowed her steps, her ears straining to catch every word.

“Deleted.”

The man’s voice came from behind the doorframe.

That calm tone made Li Sha almost wonder if she had gotten off on the wrong floor.

He didn’t sound like someone who had just come out of a battlefield filled with raging fire at all.

Her footsteps still caught their attention.

Li Sha put on a cold expression, ignoring the woman’s gaze as she took out her room card and opened her door.

However, even after entering her room and closing the door, she pressed her ear against it.

Would there be more dramatic twists?

“Li Bai, forget me. Find a woman who loves you more.”

There it was—the melodrama she had been waiting for.

In this day and age, who would break up and still wish the other person well?

Humans, especially in the dark of night, were far more cynical than that.

But Li Sha caught onto another detail.

Li Bai?

Was that a nickname or his real name?

“If I could do it over again, I would choose Li Bai…”

She almost sang it out loud.

“Once we part, we go our separate ways and live our own lives.”

The man’s calmness prevented the situation from turning into the dramatic scene Li Sha had imagined.

Soon, the sharp “click-clack” of high heels gradually faded into the distance.

The door next door then shut with a heavy “bang.”

After that, not a single sound could be heard.

The environment returned to a silence perfect for sleeping.

But Li Sha was too stimulated now, her excitement lingering, leaving her unable to fall asleep.

Had that woman just cried? She distinctly remembered hearing faint, sobbing-like sounds from next door.

After such an intense and satisfying “battle,” how could they still bring themselves to break up?

What did that man named “Li Bai” even look like? He must be quite something…

Thinking of this, Li Sha, who had just lain back down on the bed, couldn’t help but pull the blanket over herself, her cheeks flushing red.

…

When Gao Wenying stepped out of the elevator, her legs were still trembling slightly. If she hadn’t forced herself to stay upright, she might have collapsed on the floor.

What Li Sha thought wasn’t entirely accurate.

She and Li Bai hadn’t just gone through one round.

Before the battlefield on the bed was even cleaned up, she had endured another round in the bathroom, one that left her breathless and nearly overwhelmed.

The second round alone had lasted over twenty minutes.

If she hadn’t been so exhausted that she begged for mercy, she might not even have been able to walk out of the hotel now…

“He really is like a tireless bull.”

The moment she thought of that comparison, Gao Wenying felt a wave of embarrassment.

However, physical pleasure was only a form of emotional satisfaction.

In a city like Magic Capital, where material desires flowed endlessly, relying solely on feelings was not enough to survive.

Her decision to break up with Li Bai would not change.

“Brother Liu, come pick me up at New World. I just had dinner with a client… yes, someone from out of town.”

Gao Wenying made the call after moving to a different spot.

After hanging up, she took out her makeup pouch and touched up her face.

More than twenty minutes later, a BMW SUV appeared at the entrance of New World.

“Brother Liu, thanks for the trouble.”

“It’s so hot today…”

With a bright smile, Gao Wenying opened the passenger door and got in.

She did not regret this choice.

No matter how capable Li Bai was, could he afford a BMW?

Staying at that hotel earlier… he was probably just pretending to be richer than he really was.

…

Li Bai had no idea he had already been replaced seamlessly.

But he didn’t feel any attachment to Gao Wenying either.

With the [Self-Discipline System], his future was bound to be far more exciting.

Why cling to the past and make himself miserable?

After closing the door, Li Bai used the room phone to call for housekeeping, asking the hotel staff to replace the bed sheets.

Taking advantage of the time, he entered the [Self-Discipline System] to check the newly refreshed mission.

[Running Check-In Mission]

Mission Requirements:

    1. Run 10 km every day, and check in continuously for 30 days.

[Basic Reward]: 200,000 yuan + 20 free attribute points + Basic Chest x1.

    1. Improve full marathon performance.

[Advanced Rewards]:

Finish within 2 hours 30 minutes: Bronze Chest x1.

Finish within 2 hours 20 minutes: Silver Chest x1.

Finish within 2 hours 10 minutes: Gold Chest x1.

Note: Advanced rewards can be accumulated. Each tier can only be obtained once. Participation time and attempts are unlimited. The race must be an A-level event certified by the Athletics Association.

Looking at the mission details, Li Bai’s spirits lifted.

As expected.

Now that he had entered the full system phase, the missions were more interesting, and the rewards were even more generous.

Money aside, he could earn cash just by running every day.

Combined with the daily [Routine Check-In], he could save nearly 500,000 yuan next month.

It wouldn’t be enough to buy a house outright, but paying a down payment would be no problem.

Of course, among the basic rewards, what Li Bai valued most were the free attribute points.

These were far more useful than money.

He had just experienced their effects firsthand.

However, after completing the beginner mission, his daily routine check-in only provided 200,000 yuan per month.

There were no more attribute point rewards.

So if he wanted to gain more attribute points to strengthen himself, he would have to complete the newly refreshed challenge missions.

What excited and intrigued him the most were the advanced rewards.

These rewards were chests of different tiers, with unknown contents.

There were chests in the basic rewards too, but those were only basic ones. Compared to the advanced chests, there was likely a significant difference.

Li Bai saw them as blind boxes of different price levels.

Inside, there should be surprises—things different from cash and attribute points.

“However, I have to participate in marathon races to obtain them.”

“And it has to be a full marathon.”

“Running a full marathon… that sounds like a fun challenge.”

Li Bai stood up and opened the door for the staff who had come to change the bed sheets.

The service staff at this five-star hotel were quite attractive, with delicate features and well-proportioned figures.

As she bent over the bed to change the sheets, her fitted uniform skirt outlined a tight and alluring curve.

But Li Bai had already “eaten his fill” twice today. He wasn’t hungry.

Ignoring the strange look the beautiful staff gave after seeing the messy room, he simply picked up his phone and began searching for registration information for full marathon races.

[If you’re not destined to win by lying down, then stand up and run.]
