Chapter 96: Two Things:

During the day, the magic capital feels like a relentless steel jungle—cold, oppressive, and utterly serious. But at night, it sheds this stern façade, revealing a seductive charm that lures people in, leaving them helplessly captivated.

From towering, glittering skyscrapers to the bustling crowds on the streets, every detail contributes to the city’s allure. Even the endless stream of vehicles adds to the charm. However, at this moment, two cars were drawing all the attention, their presence impossible to ignore.

A sleek black Maserati tore through the streets like a queen of the night. Its commanding presence was enough to make other vehicles move aside instinctively. Ignoring traffic laws entirely, it ran multiple red lights and narrowly avoided several accidents, its brazen speed leaving chaos in its wake.

Chasing close behind was a dark green Continental GT, exuding elegance in contrast to the Maserati’s recklessness. The car moved through the traffic with incredible precision, gliding like a graceful dancer. Despite coming dangerously close to collisions, it always avoided them at the last possible moment, as if its driver possessed supernatural reflexes.

The Maserati and the Continental GT were like two forces of nature—one an untamed tempest, the other a calculating predator.

…

Inside the Maserati, Ye Zhiqiu smacked her lips in frustration, her expression betraying both annoyance and disbelief. “This kid…” she muttered.

Beside her, Jia Ting kept glancing at the car behind them, her freshly dried tears beginning to flow again. Every time the Continental GT appeared after being momentarily blocked by traffic, her heart clenched. She wished for Qin Luo to stop chasing her, yet seeing him persist stirred a bittersweet feeling in her chest.

Jia Ting clenched her fists, forcing herself to look away from the rearview mirror. She stared down, trying to suppress the storm of emotions inside her.

“Jia Ting,” Ye Zhiqiu suddenly asked, her tone curious yet grave, “what’s the background of your little boyfriend?”

Jia Ting looked up in confusion. “What do you mean?”

“That driving skill. It’s not something a 20-year-old college student should have. Are you sure he’s not a professional racecar driver?”

Jia Ting hesitated. “During our travels, I only thought he drove steadily. I never had a chance to see how skilled he really is…”

Her voice trailed off as she realized she had no explanation for what was happening. She avoided looking back, but Ye Zhiqiu had witnessed everything. Qin Luo’s driving was far from ordinary—it was audacious, relentless, and yet, somehow, flawlessly controlled.

Ye Zhiqiu clicked her tongue in frustration. She had planned to shake Qin Luo off, but it was clear now that no matter what she did, he wouldn’t stop. “Even if I drove onto the sidewalk,” she muttered, “this kid would probably follow me.”

Left with no other choice, Ye Zhiqiu took out her phone and made a call.

…

A few streets away, a Volkswagen driver picked up his ringing phone.

“Big Sis,” he answered.

“Can you stop the car following me?” Ye Zhiqiu’s voice was sharp.

“Big Sis, I’m a demon god, not some amateur…”

“Enough nonsense. Can you do it or not?”

“Of course!” he replied confidently.

“Then get moving—now!” she ordered, then added after a pause, “And don’t hurt him.”

The call ended abruptly. The Volkswagen driver raised an eyebrow, shrugged, and then grinned excitedly. “Looks like I’ve got myself a challenge,” he muttered, stepping on the accelerator.

…

In a city filled with luxury cars, the Volkswagen was nothing special—just an ordinary sedan. Yet, as it weaved through traffic with remarkable agility, it became the center of attention. Like a predator, it closed in on the dark green Continental GT, its movements calculated and deliberate.

The Continental GT, equipped with a 6.0-liter W12 engine, was a beast disguised as a beauty. Its luxurious exterior and powerful performance made it a formidable opponent. Still, the Volkswagen driver didn’t flinch. Instead, he licked his lips and pressed harder on the accelerator.

Within seconds, the Volkswagen caught up. It attempted to trap the Bentley by coordinating with another car ahead. However, the Continental GT seemed to anticipate every move. It swerved with precise timing, overtaking the car in front and leaving the Volkswagen behind.

“Tsk, such a nice car,” the Volkswagen driver murmured. His eyes lit up with excitement. To him, this was no longer just an assignment—it was a personal challenge. He pressed on, determined to force the Bentley into a mistake.

But Qin Luo, at the wheel of the Continental GT, was no ordinary driver. Every attempt to block him failed. Whether navigating tight corners or weaving through dense traffic, he maneuvered with an uncanny blend of precision and instinct. His car seemed to dance through obstacles, its movements fluid and flawless.

On a sharp curve, the Volkswagen driver tried a daring drift to cut Qin Luo off. Yet, in the blink of an eye, the Continental GT executed an even more extreme maneuver, slipping past the Volkswagen with ease. Their cars came so close that their mirrors almost grazed each other.

For the first time, the Volkswagen driver caught a clear glimpse of Qin Luo. What he saw left him speechless—a man too young and too composed, his focus unwavering as he stared straight ahead. Qin Luo didn’t even glance at his so-called opponent.

Light as a bird, swift as a dragon—the Continental GT roared past, leaving the Volkswagen in its wake.

The Volkswagen driver’s confidence wavered. Known as the “God of Magic City,” he had earned his title through countless races and unmatched driving skills. Yet, here was someone who made him feel outclassed.

“This kid…” he whispered, gripping the wheel tighter, his competitive spirit reignited.

…

Back in the Maserati, Ye Zhiqiu glanced in the rearview mirror. Her sharp eyes caught sight of the Bentley closing in, relentless as ever. She sighed and muttered, “That boy… he caught up again.”

Beside her, Jia Ting’s tears returned as she heard those words. The emotions she had been suppressing swelled again, leaving her conflicted and heartbroken.

As the Maserati and Continental GT raced through the city, two hearts and countless questions remained unresolved.

Initially, the Volkswagen driver thought his skills could rival professional racecar drivers. But after encountering the Bentley, he realized how naive he had been.

If he considered himself on par with professional drivers, then the Bentley’s driver was operating on a completely different level.

“This guy isn’t just better than me—he’s in an entirely different league!” the Volkswagen driver thought. But rather than frustration, he felt astonishment. The driver of the Bentley looked impossibly young, like a college student. How could someone so youthful possess such incredible skill?

“Sister Zhiqiu really gave me a tough one this time,” he muttered with a wry smile. Picking up his phone, he called for reinforcements. “Get over here immediately. I need help stopping a Bentley,” he said bluntly.

Soon, five more cars joined the chase, but their combined efforts only slightly hindered the Bentley’s progress. Whenever they thought they had it cornered, the Bentley would escape with ease, leaving them behind to watch its taillights vanish into the distance. Frustration turned to awe as they exchanged remarks over the radio.

“What kind of monster is driving that thing?”

“That Continental GT is being driven like it’s in an F1 race. Is the driver even human?”

“I give up. No shame in losing to a god-tier driver like that. I admit defeat!”

The Volkswagen driver chuckled despite himself. Though he could still find ways to stop the Bentley, doing so would require brute force—something Ye Zhiqiu had explicitly forbidden.

He sighed and made another call. “Big Sis, it’s not that we didn’t try, but this guy is beyond anything we’ve ever faced.”

“Excuses again?” Ye Zhiqiu’s voice was sharp. “What’s the problem?”

“Sis, I brought out everyone—six cars! And still, we couldn’t stop him. You won’t believe this—he actually lifted the car onto two wheels once. Who does that? We’re human, not gods. We can’t do miracles.”

“Enough nonsense. Find a way to stop him!”

“But you said—”

“No accidents. Just stop him, even if you have to wreck the car. I’ll pay for replacements if necessary.”

The Volkswagen driver perked up at her assurance. “Understood!” he shouted, his spirits reignited.

Hanging up, he rallied his team. “Alright, boys, we’re going all in! Let’s show this Bentley driver what we’re made of!”

He retrieved a set of expensive protective gear from his trunk, including a reinforced helmet capable of withstanding collisions at over 200 km/h. As the six cars roared back into action, their intent was clear: they would stop the Bentley, no matter the cost.

—

When the Bentley approached a busy intersection, the six cars converged simultaneously from all directions, colliding violently in their attempt to trap it.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The sound of crashing vehicles echoed through the air. Thick smoke rose from the wreckage, and pedestrians fled in panic. Yet, despite the chaos, the Bentley never emerged from the smoke.

Inside the black Maserati, Jia Ting trembled. Her face turned pale as she stared at the carnage in the rearview mirror. Gripping the door handle, she desperately tried to open it. “Let me out! I need to see Qin Luo! Let me out!” she cried, her voice breaking with emotion.

Tears streamed down her face as she frantically pulled at the locked door, her usual composed demeanor replaced by raw despair. Her tears, glistening under the streetlights, added a heartbreaking beauty to her anguish.

“Are you insane?” Ye Zhiqiu snapped. “At this speed, jumping out will turn your clever little head into a mess on the pavement!”

“I don’t care!” Jia Ting sobbed. “I have to see him! I have to know if he’s okay!”

Ye Zhiqiu sighed heavily. “Listen, your aunt always keeps her promises. Qin Luo will be fine.”

“Then what about just now?!” Jia Ting shouted, her voice trembling.

“My men were trying to stop him. They’ve done this before, and they’ll be fine. They finally managed to force him to stop,” Ye Zhiqiu explained calmly.

For the first time during the chase, Ye Zhiqiu felt a sense of relief. The Bentley was no longer visible in the rearview mirror. She hadn’t felt such pressure in years, and the fact that it came from a 20-year-old boy only made it more astonishing.

Slowing the car down, she rolled down the window, lit a cigarette, and took a long drag. As the smoke curled upward, her tense expression softened slightly.

After a moment, she spoke again. “Your little boyfriend is truly exceptional. Outstanding looks, a remarkable temperament, and incredible skills. If I had the chance, I’d want to make friends with him.”

Jia Ting’s tear-streaked face lit up slightly. “Aunt, you think he’s amazing too, don’t you?”

Ye Zhiqiu exhaled another puff of smoke and replied, “He’s good. But it’s not enough.”

“Not enough?” Jia Ting asked, her voice trembling.

“Not enough to take on the Ye family,” Ye Zhiqiu said bluntly.

Jia Ting’s mouth opened as if to argue, but she said nothing. She pressed her lips together tightly, her frustration evident in the way she bit down until her pink lips turned purple.

“I’ll figure something out,” Jia Ting said softly, her words firm and resolute. “When we return to the Imperial Capital, I’ll handle this myself.”

Ye Zhiqiu remained silent, finishing her cigarette in contemplation. She flicked the ashes out the window, then accelerated the Maserati, its sleek frame vanishing into the dense night.

At the intersection where the accident had occurred, six cars lay wrecked from the violent collision. Surrounding traffic came to a complete stop, and onlookers kept their distance, fearing they might get caught up in the chaos.

Passersby fled in panic, yet many couldn’t resist pulling out their phones to capture the scene. The scale of destruction resembled a Hollywood blockbuster, and the visuals left them stunned.

When the dust and smoke began to settle, an even more shocking sight emerged: a dark green Bentley sat in the middle of the wreckage, completely unharmed. It was surrounded by totaled vehicles, unable to move but otherwise untouched.

“How lucky is the driver to survive this unscathed?” pedestrians murmured, marveling at the Bentley’s miraculous escape.

Inside the Bentley, Qin Luo sat calmly in the driver’s seat. His indifferent gaze swept over the panicked pedestrians, the wrecked cars, and even the drivers whose conditions were unclear. None of it seemed to matter to him. His focus was on the distance, where he imagined the Maserati disappearing into the night.

It wasn’t until the sound of sirens grew louder that Qin Luo snapped out of his trance. He pulled out his phone and made a call.

The phone connected quickly, and a woman’s pleasantly surprised voice came through: “Mr. Qin, it’s a pleasure to hear from you…”

Before she could continue, Qin Luo interrupted her, his tone cold and devoid of emotion. “I need a favor.”

Tang Rui, the woman on the other end, paused briefly before responding enthusiastically, “Of course! Please tell me how I can help, and I’ll do my best.”

“Two things,” Qin Luo said flatly. “First, I’ll be taken to the police station in 10 minutes for speeding and dangerous driving. I need you to arrange for my bail.”

Tang Rui was momentarily stunned. She hadn’t expected such a request. Speeding? Racing? she thought. Why do wealthy young men always seem to love breaking traffic laws?

“Is it a problem?” Qin Luo asked, his voice cutting through her thoughts.

“No, not at all!” Tang Rui replied quickly. “Give me three minutes to consult my team and sort this out.”

Though Qin Luo’s offense wasn’t particularly serious, it was still a violation of the law. However, given his financial influence and the bank’s vested interest in him as a client, Tang Rui was confident they could resolve it.

…

Three minutes later, Qin Luo received a call from a middle-aged man with a professional yet eager tone.

“Mr. Qin, this is Di Renqing, Vice President of Industrial and Commercial Bank. You’re a highly valued client of ours, and I’m personally here to assist you. Rest assured, we’ll resolve this matter quickly.”

“I don’t need the details,” Qin Luo interrupted. “I just need the problem solved. Within the next month, my account with your bank will see a minimum inflow of 500 million yuan. If you want to benefit from that, help me now.”

There was a moment of stunned silence on the other end. Though Di Renqing didn’t reply immediately, the audible sound of his heavy breathing betrayed his astonishment.

Finally, he spoke, his voice firm and decisive. “Mr. Qin, at our bank, assisting our clients in every way possible is our core principle. I’ll personally handle this for you. Consider it done.”

“Good,” Qin Luo said curtly. “Thank you.”

“It’s no trouble at all—it’s my job,” Di Renqing assured him. “But I heard from Miss Tang that you needed help with two things. What’s the second?”

“I’ll explain when we meet,” Qin Luo replied, ending the call as the police cars arrived.

…

The aftermath of the crash drew significant attention. While the six drivers in the other cars were sent to the hospital—thanks to their heavy protective gear and tempered helmets—Qin Luo was taken to the police station. Both his vehicle and his driving record had already been flagged for dangerous behavior.

At the station, the officers couldn’t hide their surprise at how lucky Qin Luo had been. Despite the severity of the crash, he and his Bentley remained untouched. It was almost unbelievable.

20 minutes later, Qin Luo walked out of the station, accompanied by Di Renqing and Tang Rui.

For Tang Rui, this was her first time meeting Qin Luo in person. Although she had interacted with him multiple times over the phone and assisted him with setting up stock trading accounts and handling large transfers, she had never seen him face-to-face. The ID photo in the bank’s database had left her unimpressed.

But seeing him now, Tang Rui realized how wrong she had been. Qin Luo’s striking looks and magnetic presence were unlike anything she’d ever encountered. His deep, piercing gaze seemed to radiate an inner light that captivated anyone who met his eyes. Tang Rui, often regarded as the “flower” of her workplace, felt her heart race for the first time in years.

Beside her, Di Renqing observed Qin Luo with a mixture of admiration and intrigue. Decades of experience had given him a sharp eye for assessing people, yet he couldn’t get a clear read on this young man. Qin Luo’s casual mention of 500 million yuan left him pondering the true source of his wealth. Was it really just from stock trading? Or was there a powerful family backing him?

Before they could ask any questions, Qin Luo stated his second request. “I need to access 10 million yuan.”

Di Renqing raised an eyebrow. “Are you planning to reinvest in the stock market?” he asked cautiously.

“No,” Qin Luo replied, his next words leaving them both speechless. “Help me contact the largest local taxi company.”
