Chapter 59: You’re Not Qualified to Serve Me

Zheng Haochuan and Zheng Wuye knelt on the ground, their foreheads pressed tightly against the floor, bodies trembling like leaves in a storm.

Zheng Wuye’s once-arrogant face was now deathly pale. Beads of sweat as large as beans rolled down his forehead, mixing with blood and spreading across the blue stone tiles in a dark red pool.

“Holy Son Li, please spare me! I was blind and foolish… I failed to recognize a true dragon…” Zheng Wuye’s voice was hoarse and broken, each word like a shard of glass cutting through his throat. He slammed his forehead against the floor again and again, dull thuds echoing as blood and flesh mixed into a mangled mess.

Zheng Haochuan lay prostrate, the blood from his severed arm pooling beneath him. He endured the pain and spoke in a voice so respectful it bordered on reverent, “Senior Brother, please show mercy. The Zheng family is willing to offer 30,000 top-grade spirit stones, along with a spiritual-grade artifact, just to calm your anger.”

When Li Feng remained silent, Zheng Haochuan assumed his offering had fallen short. In desperation, he prepared to sacrifice everything.

The Prodigy Pavilion was silent. Only the dull sound of Zheng Wuye’s kowtowing reverberated through the air.

Those young elites who had earlier insulted Li Feng shrank into corners, wishing they could sink into the walls and disappear. Some even wet themselves, not daring to move a muscle.

Li Feng’s gaze was deep and unreadable. His fingers tapped rhythmically on the table, each tap striking at everyone’s nerves.

After a long moment, he glanced at Zheng Haochuan’s severed arm and sighed lightly. “Forget it. Since we’re all disciples of the Heavenly Profound Holy Land, I’ll spare your lives today.”

“Thank you, Senior Brother, for your mercy!” Zheng Haochuan wept with joy as if granted divine salvation.

He dragged the still-kowtowing Zheng Wuye up and scolded, “Quick, thank Holy Son Li for sparing your life!”

Zheng Wuye snapped out of his daze and was about to kneel again when Li Feng raised a hand to stop him.

“Leave. You’re an eyesore.”

“Yes, yes…” Zheng Haochuan nodded repeatedly, then his eyes lit up with a flattering thought. “Senior Brother has just arrived in the imperial capital and may need someone to run errands. Though my nephew is ignorant, he knows the capital well. Let him serve as your personal attendant.”

Li Feng gave him a faint smile.

Zheng Haochuan immediately took the hint and kicked Zheng Wuye. “Hurry and pour wine for Senior Brother Li!”

Zheng Wuye dared not disobey. He scrambled over and stood behind Li Feng with his waist bent like a groveling dog.

The other nobles who once called him brother now looked on with complicated expressions. Who would’ve imagined that the capital’s most sought-after young lord would end up serving someone as a mere attendant?

And the real noble they had once scorned?

Had they known Li Feng’s identity, they wouldn’t have hesitated to offer their wives to please him—much less show the slightest disrespect.

But now, even if they wanted to flatter him, they didn’t dare approach. Li Feng’s status was too far above theirs.

Missing this chance might be the greatest regret of their lives. Just seeing him stand up for a mere maid showed how deeply he valued loyalty and emotion.

If they could earn even a sliver of his favor, the returns would be unimaginable.

Ignoring them all, Li Feng turned his gaze toward Ye Ning, who stood frozen.

Her face was pale, her slender fingers twisting her sleeves tightly, knuckles white. Her lips trembled as if she wanted to speak but dared not.

“Ye Ning.” Li Feng’s voice softened. He patted the bench beside him. “Come, sit.”

His words made her entire body tremble, and tears welled in her eyes. Even now, after gaining such high status, he still hadn’t forgotten her!

She instinctively took a step but then glanced at Ye Yuqin for approval.

That habitual gesture made Li Feng frown slightly. With him here, she still needed to seek someone else’s permission?

Ye Yuqin now wore a face full of flattery, her former arrogance nowhere to be seen. She hurried forward, swaying her hips like a snake, trying to show off her seductive figure. Even the cloth straps she usually used to tightly conceal her curves had been loosened.

She lived in fear of ordinary people glimpsing her flesh, yet trembled at the thought that Li Feng might not notice her beauty.

“Young Master Li, I was too rude earlier. Allow me to punish myself with three cups.”

She poured herself a full cup of wine and approached with a sycophantic smile.

“Did I give you permission to speak?” Li Feng didn’t even lift his eyelids, treating her like air.

Her smile froze, leaving her stuck in awkward silence.

Li Feng looked back at Ye Ning and said firmly, “Come here. With me around today, I’d like to see who dares touch you.”

Only then did Ye Ning awaken as if from a dream and stumbled forward.

Her legs gave out, nearly sending her tumbling, but Li Feng caught her with a gentle flow of spiritual energy.

That tiny act of care made her nose sting, and her tears fell harder. Years of humiliation found their release in that moment.

“I… I’m not worthy…” Ye Ning’s voice was barely a whisper, her head lowered deeply in shame. She looked at her rough hands and plain clothing, remembering how she once belittled Li Feng in Luoxing City. She wanted to die from the shame.

Li Feng chuckled softly and personally pulled her to sit beside him. “Back in Luoxing City, you weren’t this timid. When the Jin family came for me, you spoke up on my behalf. Did you forget?”

Her heart warmed. Even after all these years, he still remembered.

She finally looked up, and through teary eyes, his current appearance overlapped with that stubborn boy she once knew.

He had the same face—but he was no longer someone she could stand beside.

“I’m sorry…” Ye Ning choked, “Back then, I didn’t stop the Jin family.”

She deeply regretted not taking Li Feng seriously. If only she had stood up for him more resolutely…

“It’s in the past. I was just a green youth back then. The fact that you spoke up at all was already a huge favor.”

Li Feng waved it off, pouring her a cup of spiritual wine. “Try this—‘Thousand-Year Intoxication’ from the Heavenly Profound Holy Land. It’s good for cultivation.”

The crystal-clear wine swirled gently, releasing a calming aroma.

Ye Ning accepted the cup with trembling hands and took a sip. Instantly, a warm current surged through her body, loosening even her long-standing cultivation bottleneck.

She knew her talent. Reaching the Martial King Realm was her lifelong goal—but this single cup almost propelled her to her peak.

Ye Yuqin, standing to the side, watched with eyes burning in envy.

Even the Great Zhou imperial family had only a few jars of ‘Thousand-Year Intoxication.’ She had only heard of it, never tasted it.

Now, a servant girl got to drink it?

A worthless servant couldn’t even appreciate its divine effects!

Still, Ye Yuqin forced a smile and asked flatteringly, “Young Master Li, would you like some snacks to go with your wine? I’ll have the kitchen prepare some right away.”

“I’m catching up with an old friend. I just need someone to pour wine. You’ll do.”

His tone was as casual as ordering a servant.

“Stand there and pour wine for us. Do it well, and it’ll count as a great merit for your Ye family.”

His words were a resounding slap. Ye Yuqin, the proud daughter of the Ye family, had never been humiliated like this.

He wanted her to serve wine?!

But facing Li Feng’s overwhelming status, she couldn’t show a hint of displeasure.

“I…” Her smile twitched, but she forced it back. “It’s my honor to serve Young Master Li.”

Only then did Li Feng glance at her and sneer, “You misunderstood. I want you to serve Ye Ning.”

“What? You want me to serve that wench?!” Ye Yuqin blurted out, then quickly covered her mouth, realizing her mistake.

She looked at Ye Ning with hatred, but when Li Feng’s eyes swept over, she quickly replaced it with a smile.

This damned maid! She’s the reason I’ve been so thoroughly humiliated today!

Ye Ning was so frightened she nearly slipped off her chair.

“No… there’s no need! I don’t dare let Miss serve me!” she said, flustered, shaking her hands repeatedly.

“Why not?” Li Feng pressed down on her shoulder. “She made you serve her tea all these years. Why shouldn’t she serve you now?”

He swept a cold gaze across the hall and sneered, “Are nobles born superior?”

Though his voice was soft, it rang like thunder in everyone’s chest.

The gathered elites looked at each other, stunned. Li Feng’s words shattered their beliefs.

No wonder he had risen from a nameless native to a True Disciple of the Heavenly Profound Holy Land, even winning the Saintess’s heart.

Without such spirit, how could he reach such heights?

Ye Yuqin’s face alternated between green and white. Her fingernails dug into her palm until blood flowed—but she dared not defy him.

With trembling hands, she picked up the wine pot and tried to pour wine for Ye Ning. But her hands shook so much that most of the wine spilled.

“I-I’m sorry…” she stammered, nearly crying.

Li Feng snorted coldly. “Clumsy. Can’t even pour wine properly? Ye Ning, slap her.”

When he arrived earlier, he’d seen Ye Yuqin slap Ye Ning over a trivial matter.

Now it was time for her to repay the favor.

Ye Ning turned pale, too scared to act.

Ye Yuqin stared at her coldly, daring her to make a move.

“If you won’t, I’ll find someone else to do it,” Li Feng said coldly, casting a glance at Zheng Wuye.

Zheng Wuye had been waiting for an opportunity to redeem himself. He didn’t care about some noble lady from a small region.

“You dare offend Young Master Li, you worthless woman!” He rolled up his sleeves and prepared to strike.

Terrified, Ye Yuqin staggered back and tripped, falling to the floor.

“Don’t trouble Young Master Zheng. As your superior, I order you—slap me quickly, or I won’t let you off!” she shouted at Ye Ning in panic.

Ye Ning realized she was the only one who could stop Zheng Wuye from killing Ye Yuqin.

She quickly stepped forward and seized Ye Yuqin’s collar, delivering slap after slap.

Slap! Slap! Slap!

The sound echoed through the pavilion, shocking everyone.

Ye Ning hit harder with each strike, venting all the abuse she had suffered.

She finally realized Ye Yuqin wasn’t as untouchable as she’d believed. Before Li Feng, she was just as helpless.

Once Ye Ning had her fill, Li Feng casually pointed to a few young women nearby. “You few, come serve us.”

They froze, then rushed forward joyfully. One massaged his shoulders, another poured wine, while a bold one knelt beside him, cooing, “Holy Son Li, I’m skilled in massage. Let me relax your whole body…”

Ye Yuqin was pushed aside, watching in stunned silence.

Those same noble ladies she used to fawn over now groveled before Li Feng.

Only then did she realize she had just missed the opportunity of a lifetime.

With Li Feng’s status, even serving his bed would be an honor—let alone pouring wine.

If she could tie herself to him, her family would instantly rise to the top of the county.

“Young Master Li!” Ye Yuqin suddenly dropped to her knees and crawled over, pleading, “I was foolish before. Please give me another chance! I’ll serve Ye Ning and you with all my heart. I promise I won’t disappoint you!”

She reached out to grab Ye Ning’s leg, but Ye Ning quickly pulled back in fright.

Ye Ning never imagined that the once-proud Ye Yuqin could become so pitiful, even more lowly than a dog.

It was a testament to just how high Li Feng had climbed.

Li Feng frowned and kicked her away.

“Now you regret it? Too late. You’re not even worthy to serve me.”

Ye Yuqin collapsed, face ashen with despair.

She stared at Ye Ning, who was now surrounded by noblewomen fawning over her, and her heart was filled with bitter regret.

If only she had treated her cousin better back then.

From today onward, Ye Ning would become a phoenix among the clouds, while she and the Ye family would have to live by her whims.

Just as everyone was trying to curry favor with Li Feng, an angry roar erupted outside the pavilion.

“Which little bastard dared kill my grandson?! If I don’t tear you to pieces today, the Lu family has no face left in this county!”
