Chapter 9: Destiny’s Vision, a Cruel Future:

As Su Wu’s voice echoed through the entire Trinity Saint Sect, everyone within the sect—disciples and elders alike—stopped what they were doing.

One of the two voices that had once descended upon the Trinity Saint Sect and made the Heaven Primordial Continent aware of how vast the world truly was, had returned again.

At the heart of Flame Abyss Cliff, Uncle Meng and Li Jianping, who had been in combat just moments before, froze the moment Su Wu’s voice rang out.

“Impossible… Impossible! Su Ming’s parents haven’t shown up for over a decade… Why now…” Li Jianping roared in his heart.

The longsword in his hand trembled, not because of any external force, but because his entire body was shaking like a leaf. The sect master of the Trinity Saint Sect, one of the strongest cultivators on the Heaven Primordial Continent, was now trembling in fear like a child who had done something wrong.

“Li Jianping, you heard our lord’s voice, and you can’t even hold your sword steady?” Uncle Meng mocked. “You better reflect on all the things you’ve done these past years and start thinking about how you’re going to explain it to the young master!”

Uncle Meng burst into unrestrained laughter and turned to leave Flame Abyss Cliff. From the moment Su Wu’s voice rang out, all battles had lost their meaning.

Li Jianping didn’t stop him. His body was already consumed by fear. Just as Uncle Meng said, he only had one thing to do now—give Su Ming an explanation.

Fortunately, he hadn’t lost his mind entirely. He quickly rushed to the forbidden ground of the sect.

Within the vast area, there stood only a single stone monument. This monument was called the Trinity Saint Stele, and it had only one purpose—to contact the ancestor of the Trinity Saint Sect, who had long ascended and left the Heaven Primordial Continent.

According to the ancestral teachings left behind, this stele was only to be activated when the sect—or the continent—faced total annihilation. The last time it had been activated was precisely when Su Ming’s parents descended upon the world. And now, it was being activated again because of them.

He had to confirm whether Su Wu had truly returned to the Heaven Primordial Continent, or if it was merely a voice transmission.

As Li Jianping activated the stele, he successfully connected with the ancestor.

“The Trinity Saint Stele I left behind only has limited uses. Speak, current sect master. Has the Heaven Primordial Continent truly reached the brink of destruction?”

“Unworthy disciple Li Jianping seeks the ancestor’s guidance…”

…

[Due to the appearance of the host’s father, combined with earlier interference, the protagonist of destiny has suffered a major blow to his opportunities. Destiny Points acquired.]

This should have been a great thing, but the previous events had made Su Ming cautious.

“System, will Chu Fan gain new opportunities because of this?”

[Due to the host’s father’s interference, destiny is currently in chaos. Follow-up results are temporarily unpredictable.]

A single sentence from a Heavenly Dao Realm expert’s residual will was enough to plunge this world’s destiny into chaos. And yet, even that was not enough to reverse the immense persecution of his entire family by the strongest destiny. If they failed to find that supreme Chaos Crystal, their family’s fate could only end one way.

Thinking of this, Su Ming clenched his fists. A great sense of crisis surged in his chest. It took him a while to steady his breathing. “I haven’t even reached the Void Realm. What am I doing overthinking things? Scaring myself for nothing?”

After mocking himself, Su Ming recalled the Destiny Vision he hadn’t yet activated. “System, activate ten seconds of Destiny Vision.”

[Activating Destiny Vision…]

With the system’s voice, Su Ming’s view changed dramatically. His perspective was pulled beyond the world itself, overlooking the entire Heaven Primordial Continent from above.

Then he saw two massive trees full of vitality. Their branches extended outward, intertwining with the world. Su Ming focused on one of them and saw Chu Fan beneath it. Clearly, this was the destiny belonging to Chu Fan as the protagonist.

Then Su Ming looked toward himself and saw a withered, fragile thread entangled by countless chains, stretching toward nothingness and destruction. He instinctively knew that was his own destiny.

But Su Ming noticed something strange—among his own desolate destiny thread, there were faint strands filled with vitality. The moment he saw them, he understood. They were stolen through the system, originally belonging to Chu Fan.

Looking back at Chu Fan’s tree of destiny, he noticed faint traces of decay, barely visible to the naked eye.

The Destiny Vision ended. In just ten seconds, Su Ming had seen the truth—and his heart burned with rage.

“Why should everything be decided by you? You choose who lives and who dies? You decide who gets to be the protagonist?”

“My future and destiny cannot possibly lead only to nothingness and destruction! If all of destiny stands against me and those I care about—then I’ll seize all of it for myself! I’ll become the only one!”

[Rest assured, the system will assist the host in rewriting fate.]

“System, as long as I alter a destiny-aligned path, I can gain Destiny Points, right?”

[Correct. The more critical the trajectory you change, the more Destiny Points you earn.]

“I understand.”

Su Ming recalled the other great tree he saw during Destiny Vision. The person it represented had to be his fiancée.

“Luo Ningshuang, my fiancée… now I need to learn everything about you…”

Just then, Uncle Meng suddenly pushed open the door and entered the room. “Young Master! Was it the lord who came to see you?”

“It was just his will descending. My father… is still waiting for me somewhere far away.”

“With your talent, Young Master, you’ll reunite with him soon.”

A trace of longing flashed in Su Ming’s eyes. “Yes. That day will come. But Uncle Meng, I need you to do something even more important for me now.”

“Please give your order, Young Master!”

“Luo Ningshuang and I have been engaged for years, but I barely know her. I want you to tell me everything about her—what she’s been through all these years.”

Uncle Meng looked a little awkward. “To be honest, Young Master, I don’t know much about your fiancée either. But if you want to know, I’ll go investigate immediately!”

“But it’ll delay my mission to watch over the Trinity Saint Pool…”

“Doesn’t matter. Start by collecting information on my fiancée.”

“I’ll get on it right away!”

As Uncle Meng turned to leave, he couldn’t help but think, “Though they’re engaged… at this age, isn’t it a little too early? Then again, this is the young master’s private matter. It’s not my place to interfere…”

Suddenly, something occurred to him. “Could it be… did the lord say something like wanting grandchildren? That must be it!”

Older folks always wanted grandchildren—let alone two Heavenly Dao Realm experts who’d lived for who knows how many years.

“If it concerns the young master’s heir, I must get this done right!”

Just as Uncle Meng was leaving the room, he saw Li Jianping standing outside.

“Oh? Have you figured out how to explain yourself to my young master?”

“That’s none of your concern.” At this moment, Li Jianping was calm and composed. The fear from earlier had completely vanished.

Though he found it strange, Uncle Meng didn’t press. After all, with the protective treasures Su Ming’s parents left behind, he was safer now than he ever could be under Uncle Meng’s watch. wThe most urgent task now—was uncovering everything about the future young mistress.
