Chapter 1: Transmigrated into a Novel, Yet I’m Still Me

“Time to get up and start writing!”

Mo Wudu opened his eyes groggily. He had just been dreaming that he had become a legendary web novelist, earning more royalties than he could ever count. He had even bought himself a luxurious villa, with beautiful girls constantly surrounding him. Unfortunately, the dream ended, and he was still the same struggling nobody of an author.

Mo Wudu rubbed his eyes, wiped the drool from the corner of his mouth, and sat up in bed. However, as his vision cleared, he immediately sensed that something was wrong. This was definitely not the cramped rental room where 500 yuan was enough to cover an entire month’s rent.

The room was filled with natural light and was countless times larger and more spacious than his old place. Looking around, Mo Wudu could think of only two words to describe it: absolute luxury.

“Huh? Where is this? Don’t tell me I’m still dreaming.”

Mo Wudu could barely process what was happening. He climbed out of bed and walked over to the mirror, only to freeze when he saw the person reflected in it.

That was a completely different face.

Mo Wudu had always considered himself somewhat handsome, but he had never been anywhere near this handsome.

The man in the mirror had a pair of captivating peach-blossom eyes, clear and luminous, as though an entire universe could be glimpsed within them. His skin was fair, smooth, and almost jade-like. His facial features were sharply defined yet harmonious, with gentle lines that still carried a striking sense of depth. Long, handsome black hair cascaded down his back, giving him the refined appearance of a noble young gentleman.

Mo Wudu reached up and touched his face. The sensation beneath his fingertips was far too real to be a dream.

“Could it be… I transmigrated?”

As a struggling web novelist himself, Mo Wudu had naturally read countless online novels, including plenty about transmigration. Everything happening to him right now looked exactly like the classic beginning of a transmigration novel.

“Cheat ability? System? Mysterious old grandpa?”

Mo Wudu awkwardly shouted at the empty air for quite some time, but the response he imagined never came.

“Fine, fine. Damn heavens, so this is how you want to play it, huh? Can someone without a cheat ability even call himself a transmigrator?”

Still, judging from this room alone, the original owner of this body had undoubtedly been the son of an extremely wealthy family. That was not bad at all. Mo Wudu had originally dreamed of becoming a famous web novelist and making a fortune, but now it seemed he had skipped the entire process and reached the top in a single step.

There was just one problem.

Mo Wudu had none of the original owner’s memories.

If he behaved strangely in front of anyone close to the original owner, he would expose himself almost immediately. And if they discovered that he was essentially an impostor occupying someone else’s body, who knew what terrible fate might await him?

“There’s nothing I can do about it. I’ll just have to deal with things as they come.”

Mo Wudu pushed open the door, intending to see exactly what kind of world he had transmigrated into.

“Master!”

The sudden cry directly in front of him startled Mo Wudu. He quickly lowered his gaze and saw a young woman kneeling on the ground. Her head was bowed, and her body trembled faintly, as though she were terrified of him.

Mo Wudu was stunned.

Why was he a master now? Just where exactly was this place, and more importantly, who was he?

The young woman remained kneeling for a long time without hearing any response from Mo Wudu. She had no idea whether she had done something wrong again, so she did not dare move even slightly.

After thinking for a moment, Mo Wudu finally realized that his disciple was still kneeling before him. He quickly said, “Get up.”

“Yes, Master.”

Only after receiving Mo Wudu’s permission did the young woman dare to rise. However, she had already been kneeling there for nearly twelve hours. The moment she suddenly stood, her legs gave out beneath her, and she toppled straight into Mo Wudu’s arms.

Mo Wudu had no time to react. The young woman crashed directly against his chest.

The instant she realized what she had done, her face went pale. Ignoring the painful numbness in her legs, she hurriedly pulled herself from Mo Wudu’s embrace and dropped to her knees again. Tears welled up in her eyes from sheer panic as she pleaded in a trembling voice, “Please punish me, Master.”

Mo Wudu stared at her, utterly confused.

Her legs had simply gone weak, causing her to stumble into him. Was that really such a serious matter? Besides, such a beautiful girl had fallen straight into his arms. He should be delighted, not angry.

Although… she did seem to be his disciple.

“Get up, get up. There’s no need to kneel.”

The young woman looked completely bewildered. Normally, even if her master simply found her unpleasant to look at, he could beat her without warning. Yet today, not only had he spared her from punishment, but his voice was unusually gentle, completely lacking its usual cold severity.

Since it was her master’s command, the young woman did not dare remain on her knees. She forced herself to stand despite the lingering numbness in her legs. She had escaped punishment after falling into him once, but there was no guarantee she would be so fortunate a second time. Thus, even though her entire body trembled from the effort, she did not dare sit down to recover.

She kept her head lowered and refused to look at Mo Wudu, behaving as though he were some terrifying monster that might devour her at any moment.

Mo Wudu could clearly tell that the young woman was afraid of him, and this was far beyond ordinary fear.

Just what had the original owner of this body done to her to make her so terrified?

“If your legs are weak, go sit down.”

The young woman reacted as though she had just heard something capable of turning the world upside down.

Her master was actually telling her to sit?

Previously, he had explicitly warned her that if he ever saw her standing before him instead of immediately kneeling, he would whip her. For a moment, she wondered whether she had misheard him and still did not dare sit on the nearby stone stool.

Seeing that she did not respond for quite some time, Mo Wudu assumed her legs had recovered and stopped paying attention to it. Instead, he began observing his surroundings.

Beside his residence stood a peach blossom tree, and beneath it was a stone table surrounded by stone stools. The peaceful scenery was extraordinarily pleasant. Only then did Mo Wudu realize that he was standing on a mountain. In the distance, clouds and mist drifted between the peaks, creating a breathtaking sight he had never witnessed in his previous world.

Of course, it was not that such scenery had never existed in his old world. Mo Wudu had simply never climbed a mountain this high before, so naturally, he had never been able to witness the unique beauty found at such heights.

Mo Wudu sat on one of the stone stools beside the table and looked toward the young woman, “Come over and sit.”

There was no one else around, so the young woman knew he was speaking to her.

She had always been required to kneel before Mo Wudu, so suddenly being allowed to sit beside him felt deeply unnatural. She had no idea what her master intended, but an order was an order. She had to obey. Otherwise, another brutal beating would undoubtedly await her.

Thus, the young woman carefully sat on the stone stool beside Mo Wudu.

Only now did Mo Wudu get a clear look at her face.

Her beauty was like the bright moon, pure and radiant, with a crystalline clarity that seemed to glow from within. Her skin was as fair and delicate as snow, smooth and soft, giving her an almost exquisitely fragile appearance.

‘Her skin must feel incredible to the touch… Wait, what the hell am I thinking? She’s my disciple!’

Unfortunately, there was one flaw marring her otherwise breathtaking appearance.

Faint scars covered parts of her face, arms, and neck. Judging from their shape, they looked as though they had been left behind by repeated lashes from a whip.

A troubling suspicion rose in Mo Wudu’s heart.

Could the original owner of this body have been the one who did this to her?

Otherwise, why would his disciple be so terrified of him?
