Chapter 3: The Gift of Six Rites

Following Su Cheng up the mountain and seeing her master’s Soaring Immortal Hall, Ye Qinghan truly couldn’t hold it in… This was called Soaring Immortal Hall? This was supposed to be a sect? Ye Qinghan pointed at the dilapidated house in front of her, completely in disbelief, “Master, you’re saying… this is Soaring Immortal Hall?”

“That’s right. Cultivation seeks peace and detachment from desires. I, as your master, do not favor extravagance.”

“But this is way too shabby…” Ye Qinghan looked at the small courtyard in front of her and couldn’t help but complain inwardly. Were there scams in the Cultivation World?

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for accepting a disciple. The Villain System grants you the following rewards!]

[Soaring Immortal Hall ×1]

[Top-grade Innate Spiritual Root Seed ×1]

[999 Everything Elixir ×1]

[Cultivation Assistance Material (Ye Qinghan) ×10 sets]

Hearing the system’s voice in his mind, Su Cheng was stunned. Ever since he transmigrated, the Villain System had introduced the world once and disappeared. No matter how he called, it never responded! If it hadn’t suddenly reappeared, Su Cheng would have completely forgotten he had a system! The most annoying thing was—this damn system! Even the cultivation materials were bound to specific people? Afraid he’d keep them for himself instead of giving them to his disciple?

[System Store Access Permission Unlocked]

“Go wait inside for your master.” Ye Qinghan didn’t think much of it. Besides, she knew her master wouldn’t harm her. Even if he did, she wasn’t afraid! After being called stingy by his disciple, Su Cheng figured he might as well give Ye Qinghan a visual shock. The immortal hall ignored terrain and didn’t need a selected location. As long as it touched the ground, all nearby trees and rocks would be cleared in an instant. And in that instant, the Soaring Immortal Hall rose from the earth, fully equipped with all facilities.

[Hehe, now this looks like a villain. What kind of miserable, beggar’s life were you living before this?]

[Besides, if a villain has no strength, how can he set off how powerful Young Master Cheng is supposed to be?]

“Come out.” Ye Qinghan could hear Su Cheng’s inner thoughts from inside the house, but when she actually saw it… “Master… it was this disciple who was foolish…” Ye Qinghan felt a little guilty. Had she really judged a gentleman by the heart of a petty person? “It was my oversight. I didn’t consider your needs. There are many rooms here. You can live in whichever one you like.” After saying that, Su Cheng led Ye Qinghan inside. The magnificent cluster of palaces looked like heavenly palaces in the sky, filled with dense spiritual Qi.

Naturally, Su Cheng chose the main hall, and Ye Qinghan didn’t dare object. Her master should indeed live in the largest room. She picked the room next to his. As a disciple, she ought to live close to her master. After tidying up her room a bit, Ye Qinghan went to the Soaring Immortal Hall to formally perform the disciple ceremony. She was already the chief disciple; all that was left was the formal procedure. But Ye Qinghan didn’t expect that the moment she knelt down, she got scolded…

“Qinghan, where is your Frost Edge Sword?” Su Cheng’s tone was cold, and his gaze turned terrifying. Ye Qinghan froze. Seeing her master’s expression, she felt a little afraid. Perhaps from kneeling all day, her legs even started trembling…

“In… the room.” Seeing Ye Qinghan’s reaction, Su Cheng softened. “I’m not angry, but Qinghan, remember this: the Frost Edge Sword must never leave your side, nor should it be placed inside a storage ring.”

“Disciple will remember your teachings.” Ye Qinghan understood—this sword was more important than her life! If the world knew of the existence of an Innate Treasure, one could imagine the chaos it would cause across the Three Realms…

She quickly ran back to her room and retrieved the Frost Edge Sword, silently vowing never to let it leave her side again. Fortunately, her master didn’t press the issue. Ye Qinghan tied the Frost Edge Sword to her waist, then served tea to her master and formally completed the disciple ceremony.

[I can’t even protect myself and yet shamelessly take in a disciple.]

Gently receiving the cup of tea and sipping it, Su Cheng stroked Ye Qinghan’s head. “I’ve prepared a gift for your initiation—six rites, including the Frost Edge Sword.”

Ye Qinghan stood frozen, staring at the gifts on the table in a daze. “Master, the six rites should be prepared by the disciple for her master. Your kindness in accepting me is already beyond repayment. How could I…”

“This is the rule of Soaring Immortal Hall. If I give it to you, you take it!” Su Cheng pouted and began introducing them one by one.

Ye Qinghan obediently nodded. Her master’s words were like imperial edicts—she would obey. “This is the Flowing Glaze Dress with water sleeves, a jade pendant representing Soaring Immortal Hall, and the Frost Edge Sword already on your body. These three represent restraint of body, heart, and emotions.”

[Her fate is special. Though the Frost Edge Sword suppresses her innate seductive charm, there must be some life-saving methods stored in the jade pendant as well.]

“Against the wall is the sword case I prepared for you. Don’t you want to be a Sword Immortal? You’ll need this sooner or later. Take it back and study it slowly.”

Ye Qinghan looked at the sword case in the distance, stunned. The craftsmanship was exquisite, surrounded by Dao Rhythms and spiritual Qi—yet another Top-tier Immortal-grade Magical Treasure… With these treasures, she felt like she was only a protective formation away from founding a sect of her own…

What kind of sect could bring out this many Top-tier Immortal-grade Magical Treasures? Now when she looked back at the jade pendant and dress, she was almost certain they weren’t ordinary either…

“Here’s a bracelet I prepared for you. Figure out how to use it on your own.”

“Lastly, this is a rare spiritual medicine I came across. Even if you’re down to your last breath, eating this will restore you completely.”

Su Cheng placed the 999 Everything Elixir into a small bottle and shoved it into Ye Qinghan’s hand.

“It’s getting late. Get some rest. Tomorrow I’ll teach you the Frost Edge Sword Technique and cultivation methods.”

Ye Qinghan looked blankly dazed. To be honest, no one had ever treated her this well. Even those who did were only after her body or talent.

But Su Cheng asked for nothing, yet cared for her in every way. He clearly wanted to stay out of trouble, yet because of her, he was forced to provoke Cheng Liang. He clearly preferred a quiet and simple life, but because of a single word from her, he conjured up a grand immortal palace. The six rites that should have been given by a disciple to her master had instead been given by her master to her.

“What’s wrong? Why are you crying? Do you still need something?”

Hearing Su Cheng’s question, Ye Qinghan realized tears were falling down her cheeks. “No, it’s just… no one has ever treated me this well before…”

[This poor girl… At the end of the day, she’s just a sixteen-year-old child.]

Su Cheng rubbed her head dotingly and gently wiped her tears.

“Go rest.”

Ye Qinghan nodded and returned to her room with the six rites—just next door, really. But how could she fall asleep?

She laid out all six items on the bed.

If she had a phone, she’d definitely take a picture and post it. Her jade-like fingers caressed the Flowing Glaze Dress, feeling its fine texture. She sighed in her heart—it was truly a gift worthy of her master. She couldn’t even bear to wear it!

Putting on the new dress, she looked at herself in the mirror. It seemed loose at first, but once worn, it was surprisingly fitted—like it was tailor-made for her. ‘Perfect’ didn’t even begin to describe it.

Such exquisite craftsmanship! What trash were ordinary immortal-grade items?

They were nothing to her now!

Dressed in her new outfit, Ye Qinghan began examining the jade pendant. She discovered it had a storage function, just like a storage ring, filled with heavenly treasures prepared by her master for her cultivation. Next came the sword case.

It was quite big, and she sat on her bed, holding it between her legs, trying everything to open it—without success. After struggling for a while, she realized it needed to be activated with Immortal Techniques, just like the Frost Edge Sword—useless to brute force.

As the sword case slowly opened, she saw more than ten immortal swords lying quietly inside—exactly the kind she used to dream of. Now, they were just free add-ons… With her current 9th stage Qi Refining Realm Cultivation Level, she could at most control four flying swords at once. If they were immortal swords, even two might be her limit.

She also noticed that the Frost Edge Sword and the sword case couldn’t be stored in a storage space—not even in the jade pendant her master gave her. Not because he didn’t allow it—but because it was literally impossible.

Thinking she probably wouldn’t need the sword case for a while, she decided to just leave it at home. It was too bulky to carry around.

Unexpectedly, the sword case seemed to sense her thought and instantly shrank to the size of a matchbox. Ye Qinghan narrowed her fox-like eyes. So this little guy was quite considerate after all.

She tugged her collar and tucked the sword case into her chest. Though her master hadn’t said anything about it, Ye Qinghan felt this sword case was likely also a treasure that couldn’t be left behind.

[Why does this feel like raising a daughter? Even needs reminders to sleep!]

“Go to sleep!”

Just as Su Cheng was about to take a bath, he saw the light still on in Ye Qinghan’s room and gently knocked on the window. Ye Qinghan was startled. She hadn’t heard her master’s inner thoughts for a while and thought he was asleep.

“Yes, Qinghan is going to sleep now!”

She quickly turned off the light and happily lay in bed.

[She really doesn’t let people rest easy… I’m going to die at her hands one day…]

Hearing her master’s words—saying she was like a daughter, that she was troublesome—Ye Qinghan felt a strange warmth in her heart. She’d met few people in her life who treated her poorly, but none were like Su Cheng. She couldn’t explain it, but his presence gave her peace.

She had originally planned to trick a lonely old man out of his treasures and leave, but now… she felt like she truly deserved to die for thinking that! Meeting her master was the greatest opportunity of her life. She was lucky she hadn’t given up halfway and had chosen him.

That said, what was Master doing out so late? He’d slept all day, so he definitely wasn’t tired. But why was he still out at this hour? So curious… so nosy… She wanted to take a peek… As she thought that, her hand was already on the door.

She tiptoed out of her room. Her master’s room still had its light on, so he hadn’t gone far. She searched the courtyard and found herself outside another large hall, where she heard Su Cheng’s inner thoughts.

[Ah~ that feels good…]

Ye Qinghan froze. What? Feels good?

Afraid of being discovered, she didn’t dare get too close. Even though her master had no Cultivation Level, who knew if he had some treasure or method to detect her? “Whether lords or generals~ care not for eternal glory~” Ye Qinghan paused. Was her master… singing? Such heroic ambition. Her master truly was extraordinary! But what was he doing that made him so happy? So satisfying, so joyful?

Tiptoeing in, Ye Qinghan felt the air was slightly humid. But she could clearly sense that the spiritual Qi here was even richer than the rest of Soaring Immortal Hall. “The great path of love stretches boundlessly~ only for her would I surrender the world~” Huh? For whom? For me?

Master! You don’t have to go this far for Qinghan…
