Chapter 11: Infinite Reverence

Liu Ruobing stood in place.

The crisscrossing lightning and frost on the Violet Lightning Frost Sword emanated an oppressive aura that made her breath catch.

Chu Qiuran remained on one knee, arms raised high. His expression showed a deep and unwavering reverence for his big sister—so sincere it looked carved into his bones, flawless and without the slightest crack.

Ye Feng lay collapsed on the ground, blood gurgling from his mouth. His throat rasped with broken sounds as his trembling finger pointed at Chu Qiuran. The repeated blows had completely shattered his spirit.

The surrounding disciples didn’t dare make a sound. Not even a breath could be heard.

Just what kind of freak was this Chu Qiuran?

Ten-Thousand-Year-Old Stalactite Essence!

Centenary Dao Heart Fruit!

And now he had even brought out the Violet Lightning Frost Sword—an upper-grade spiritual weapon!

And of all times, he had chosen the exact moment Ye Feng presented a fake sword!

Was that a coincidence?

Only a fool would believe that!

“Ruobing… Junior Sister…” Ye Feng struggled, his voice hoarse and dry, every word reeking of despair. “This… this sword of his, where did he get it… it must be fake! Yes! He colluded with outsiders to set this up and trick you! He wants to ruin my reputation!”

He clung to this last excuse, trying to struggle on the verge of collapse.

“Pfft!” Bai Luoluo couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

“Ye Feng, were you kicked in the head by a donkey or struck dumb by lightning?”

“Don’t you have a shred of awareness of what kind of trash you brought out yourself?”

“Any cultivator here can feel the sword aura of the Violet Lightning Frost Sword. Who can’t tell whether it’s real or not?”

“A setup?”

“If Junior Brother Chu really had the means to pull off a setup like this, he would’ve become a core disciple of the Inner Sect long ago. Why would he need to act in front of you?”

Chu Qiuran immediately put on a “terrified” look and said, “Senior Brother Ye Feng, please… please don’t misunderstand!”

“This sword was truly something I obtained by sheer luck. I only wanted to present it to Big Sister out of sincerity, absolutely nothing more!”

“Senior Sister Ruobing has sharp eyes and will surely distinguish truth from falsehood!”

Liu Ruobing ignored Ye Feng’s insane rambling. Her gaze shifted from the Violet Lightning Frost Sword to Chu Qiuran.

That pure yet appropriately “foolishly loyal” expression on his face… Could someone like that truly be just a Registered Disciple blessed with outrageous luck?

She reached out, her slender fingers gently resting on the sword’s hilt.

“Buzz—!”

The Violet Lightning Frost Sword let out a sharp sword cry, responding actively to her touch.

A wave of pure lightning and frost energy surged through her arm, resonating faintly with the spiritual Qi in her body.

It was genuine!

And not only that—it was an upper-grade spiritual weapon perfectly compatible with her cultivation technique!

“A fine sword,” Liu Ruobing said coldly, yet her praise was clear and undisguised.

She flicked her wrist, and the Violet Lightning Frost Sword landed firmly in her hand.

The chill and lightning from the blade reflected off her already stunning face, adding a sacred sharpness that warned others not to trespass.

“I’ll accept this sword,” Liu Ruobing said, turning toward Ye Feng. Her tone was colder than ice.

“Ye Feng, the engagement between you and me was nothing more than a joke from our seniors.”

“Today, in front of all our fellow disciples, I, Liu Ruobing, make this clear—we are finished. From now on, we are completely severed. No ties remain between us.”

She paused, then added with an even colder voice, “As for the poisonous oath you swore—it was your own words. If the sword was flawed, you’d admit you were trash, never set foot in the Outer Sect again, and never pester me. So now… what will you do?”

Ye Feng trembled all over.

Liu Ruobing’s words pierced like blades, grinding his last bit of pride and hope into dust.

He had lost!

Utterly, completely defeated—without a shred of dignity left!

“I… I…” Ye Feng opened his mouth, but not a single word came out.

The surrounding gazes made him want to crawl into a hole and disappear.

“Senior Brother Ye Feng, a real man stands by his word.”

“Yeah, you swore it yourself. Can’t just treat your own oath like a fart, can you?”

“Tsk, I thought he was some kind of genius. Turns out he’s just a clown.”

Whispers surged like a wave, each one slapping Ye Feng across the face.

“Aaah—!”

Ye Feng let out a tragic scream, suddenly leaping to his feet, eyes bloodshot, looking crazed.

“Liu Ruobing! Chu Qiuran! Just you wait!”

“The humiliation I suffer today, I’ll repay a hundredfold one day!”

Throwing down this powerless threat, he stumbled and fled the Martial Arena in utter disgrace. His figure was desolate, steeped in venomous hatred.

Watching Ye Feng’s disappearing figure, Bai Luoluo curled her lip. “Tch. Can’t take a loss, only knows how to spout threats. Trash is trash.”

Chu Qiuran put on a worried look and said, “Senior Sister Ruobing, do you think Senior Brother Ye Feng might… do something stupid?”

Liu Ruobing held the sword in her hand, not even glancing at him as she replied indifferently, “He brought it on himself.”

She turned to leave.

“Senior Sister Ruobing!” Chu Qiuran quickly followed with a flattering smile. “Are you satisfied with the sword? This little token of mine…”

[Ding! Detected that the host has gifted one upper-grade spiritual weapon: Violet Lightning Frost Sword. Tenfold Rebate activated…]

[Congratulations! Host has received ten Violet Lightning Frost Swords as a reward!]

As the System notification rang out, Chu Qiuran nearly burst out laughing. Thankfully, his acting skills were solid. He barely managed to suppress his ecstasy and kept up his loyal dog facade.

Liu Ruobing paused slightly, then turned back.

She just looked at Chu Qiuran silently, saying nothing. Her stare made Chu Qiuran feel chills in his heart.

This woman… could she have really figured something out?

“Chu Qiuran,” Liu Ruobing said, her voice cold and clear.

“At your service!” Chu Qiuran immediately bowed, respectful to the extreme.

“You’ve done well.”

She left only these three ambiguous words—neither praise nor criticism.

“Tonight at 7:00 p.m, come to my cultivation residence. I have something to ask you.”

Before her voice even finished, her figure had already vanished from the Martial Arena.

Bai Luoluo came over and gave Chu Qiuran a sly pat on the shoulder. “Not bad, kid. You’ve improved! Senior Sister Ruobing actually invited you to her cultivation residence herself. That’s a first! But I’m warning you—she’s got a sharp mind and lots of questions. Watch your step!”

Chu Qiuran gave a sheepish laugh. “Thanks for the reminder, Senior Sister Bai. I’ll keep that in mind.”

But inside, he was already calculating like mad.

Liu Ruobing suddenly calling for him… was she trying to have a direct talk? Or was she probing?

Damn it, the ten extra Violet Lightning Frost Swords from the System reward… those things are hard to hide!

Soon, it was 7:00 p.m. The moon hung brightly in the sky.

Chu Qiuran stood nervously outside the restriction guarding Liu Ruobing’s cultivation residence.

Just what did this woman want?

“Come in.”

Liu Ruobing’s cold voice came from inside. A silent light gate opened.

Chu Qiuran adjusted his breathing, braced himself, and stepped in.

The residence was simply decorated, but the spiritual Qi inside was absurdly dense.

Liu Ruobing sat cross-legged on a cushion. The Violet Lightning Frost Sword lay horizontally in front of her. The lightning from its blade danced across her face, adding a sense of mystery.

“Senior Sister Ruobing, you asked me here—do you have any instructions for me?” Chu Qiuran bowed low, humble to the bone.

Only then did Liu Ruobing open her eyes. Her voice remained devoid of warmth.

“Sit.”

Chu Qiuran found a cushion across from her and cautiously sat down, barely perching on the edge.
