Miss Lu Turned Her Back, Her Six Brothers Begged for Forgiveness - Chapter 33:
Chapter 33: Forcing Her to Forgive? Is That Possible?
Was this an apology? It was clearly forcing her to accept everything! Lu Ning’s expression was calm and indifferent, and this made Lu Liu’s heart sink heavily. Earlier, Lu Liu had been confident, but now he was feeling uncertain. He had already lowered his head to apologize and tried to reconcile. Lu Ning should understand his sincerity, right? From childhood to now, he had never bowed his head to anyone. Lu Ning was the first!
Qin Xiang seized the opportunity to chime in, “Yes, Sister Ning Ning, Sixth Brother put so much effort into preparing today’s apology banquet. You should see his sincerity.”
Lu Liu’s expression became a little awkward. “Lu Ning, you can make any request, I can agree to anything.”
Lu Ning raised her brows, her tone tinged with sarcasm. “My request is very simple.”
“Say it.” Lu Liu breathed a sigh of relief. As long as Lu Ning was willing to propose conditions, it meant she was willing to forgive him. He thought so. Lu Ning was surely throwing a tantrum, thinking he favored Qin Xiang! Once they reconciled, he would find an opportunity to properly lecture Lu Ning.
“From today on, don’t appear in front of me, and stop making decisions on your own.” Lu Liu’s expression froze instantly, his mind buzzing like an explosion.
Lu Ning turned and left, her back decisive and firm, without a trace of nostalgia. When she walked out of the training base, the heatwave outside hit her face, and the cicadas’ chirping in summer made people feel inexplicably irritated.
“Lu Ning, what do you want me to do so you can forgive me for what I did wrong before? Just say it!” Lu Liu chased after her, looking at Lu Ning earnestly, his attitude unusually sincere.
Lu Ning finally lost her patience. “Didn’t you understand what I just said? I suggest you go back to elementary school and retake the lessons.”
“Lu Ning, we’ve been so close since childhood, and you’re telling me you’ll never forgive me, never acknowledge me as your brother, just because I lost control once?” Lu Liu couldn’t believe she could be so heartless.
Lu Ning found it laughable. Just once? In Lu Liu’s eyes, he still didn’t understand why she left the Lu family. But she had no obligation to explain. She didn’t want to look back, nor did she want to lower herself to reconcile.
Her gaze was cold and detached. “If you want to think that way, then fine.”
Lu Liu seemed to be severely hit, looking at her in disbelief. He couldn’t accept that Lu Ning truly didn’t acknowledge him as her brother anymore.
Qin Xiang rushed over, blocking Lu Ning’s path. “Sister Ning Ning, it was all my fault last time. I caused all this to happen. From today, I’ll move out of the Lu family. You’ll never have to see me again.”
She turned to look at Lu Liu, her eyes filled with tears. “Sixth Brother, thank you for taking care of me all these years. I’m already very grateful.”
Lu Liu instinctively grabbed Qin Xiang’s hand. “What are you doing? This has nothing to do with you. It’s between me and Lu Ning.”
“No, Sixth Brother, you don’t understand. It does have to do with me. I have to take responsibility!” Qin Xiang shook her head, red-eyed, looking so understanding that anyone would feel soft-hearted.
Lu Liu couldn’t help but sigh. “Why can’t you be as sensible as Qin Xiang?”
Lu Ning raised her brows, her tone laced with ridicule. “Then you have her, isn’t that enough? Don’t bother me.”
“Lu Ning, you always think we’re favoring Qin Xiang, but have you looked at what you’ve done? People have feelings too. If you were so sensible, things wouldn’t have turned out like this.”
“So let’s not associate anymore. Living our own lives is the best choice.”
Lu Ning walked straight to the roadside. It was a remote area, with barely any cars passing by. But she just wanted to leave this place. Lu Liu blocked her path. “I think we should have a proper talk and make things clear.”
Beep beep beep—an ear-piercing horn sounded as a black luxury car sped toward them without any intention of braking.
“Sixth Brother, be careful!” Qin Xiang ran over, and Lu Liu instinctively pulled Qin Xiang away, but then he looked back at Lu Ning still standing there.
Realizing what he had done, Lu Liu panicked and shouted, “Hurry up and get out of the way!” Lu Ning stood expressionless, her gaze dark as the abyss.
Screech—the car stopped right beside Lu Ning. The window rolled down, revealing Ji Chiqian’s cold and sharp features. His tone was calm. “Get in.”
Lu Ning smiled slightly. She knew it was him. She bent down and got in the car. Outside, Lu Liu’s voice followed, “Lu Ning, you can’t leave with him!” Lu Ning turned her head, looked at Lu Liu chasing after them, and directly rolled up the window, cutting off everything outside.
Lu Liu chased for a while but finally stopped in a sorry state, pounding the ground unwillingly. Why did things turn out like this? He had actually left Lu Ning behind just now.
Thinking about her expression, he started to panic. What should he do? He had chosen Qin Xiang by instinct. That didn’t mean he didn’t care about Lu Ning, right? It was just that Qin Xiang had rushed over to save him; he couldn’t just ignore that, could he? Lu Ning was smart, she would understand, right? Lu Liu had no confidence.
Qin Xiang came over, looking concerned. “Sixth Brother, are you okay? Sister Ning Ning should be fine. She didn’t come home last night either, probably with that school doctor.”
Lu Liu adjusted his expression. “Lu Ning has been led astray by that school doctor. She used to throw tantrums, but she never defied the family like this!” Lu Ning had changed. He had to find a way to put everything back on track.
…
In the car, Lu Ning opened the window and let the wind blow over her face, not saying a word. Ji Chiqian didn’t ask anything either and drove her back to the apartment.
When they entered the elevator, Lu Ning sneaked a glance at him. “Are you angry?” Earlier in the car, she noticed his expression wasn’t good.
The man looked at their reflections in the elevator’s mirror. “At least you made progress this time. You knew to ask me for help when you were taken away.”
“It happened so suddenly. Someone confessed to me at the school gate. I sprayed them with a fire extinguisher. That guy is from Yun City, not easy to provoke. During the conflict, my Sixth Brother came to resolve the situation and forcibly put me in the car. But I didn’t expect he would take me to the team base.”
Lu Ning didn’t expect Sixth Brother Lu Liu to arrange such a big scene, even putting up a banner to make her join the team. If it were the old Lu Ning, she would have been bound by moral blackmail. But now, as long as she had no morals, no one could morally blackmail her.
“Who confessed to you?” Ji Chiqian asked.
“The campus heartthrob from the private school next door,” Lu Ning replied.
Ji Chiqian squinted. “Is he the person you’re secretly in love with?”
“Of course not, it’s not him!” Lu Ning was amused.
The elevator arrived, and she walked out first. Ji Chiqian followed behind at a steady pace, frowning as if deep in thought.
Lu Ning noticed the kitchen had a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits. She was surprised. “You’re planning to cook yourself?”
“What are you thinking? Of course, it’s for the aunt to cook. But I received a message from someone,” Ji Chiqian replied.
Lu Ning felt a little guilty. “How about I cook from now on? I’m pretty good at it.” After all, Ji Chiqian had taken her in, and she wanted to do something in return.
Ji Chiqian narrowed his eyes. “When did you learn to cook?”
“I learned back in the Lu family. I often cooked for everyone, especially my eldest and Second Brother. Their stomachs weren’t good and could only eat the food I made…” Lu Ning paused. “Anyway, I learned it a long time ago.”
She had learned it from the kitchen maids to please her brothers. Ji Chiqian didn’t look too happy. “Lu Ning, your hands are not meant for cooking.”
