Miss Lu Turned Her Back, Her Six Brothers Begged for Forgiveness - Chapter 85:
Chapter 85: You Are Not Worthy to Be My Brother
Lu Ning pulled at the corner of her mouth and turned to leave.
But Lu Liu grabbed her and said in a low voice, “Even if you get drunk, I’ll send you back. You don’t need to worry about that.”
Lu Ning wanted to leave, but her wrist hurt from his grip.
She lowered her eyes, “You want me to drink?”
This is what you forced.
Lu Liu let go and sighed in relief, “Lu Ning, that’s right. Apologize properly and explain things clearly, and this matter will be settled.”
Lu Ning walked to the table and glanced at the beer lined up.
A middle-aged man nearby looked Lu Ning up and down, “President Lu’s sister is quite pretty. Do you have a boyfriend at school?”
“Girls these days mature early, surely she has a boyfriend already.”
Hearing these comments made Lu Liu uncomfortable, after all, Lu Ning was his biological younger sister.
But since they were here to apologize and beg for favor, Lu Liu couldn’t stop the other side from joking and had to let it go.
He figured he would protect Lu Ning later and not let her suffer.
Lu Ning picked up a glass of beer and splashed it directly at the two men who spoke, “Since your mouths are so filthy, wash them.”
“Lu Ning, what are you doing?”
Lu Liu’s face changed drastically as he rushed to pull Lu Ning, “Are you crazy? I told you to apologize!”
“Yes, this is my way of apologizing.”
Lu Ning sneered coldly, “Are you satisfied?”
Since they never understood her words, she would use actions to make them understand.
Lu Liu was so furious that his eyes turned red. He raised his hand and slapped Lu Ning, “You’ve gone too far this time. Apologize to them right now, do you hear me?”
Lu Ning felt the sting on her cheek. Without changing expression, she grabbed a beer bottle and smashed it hard against Lu Liu’s head.
Blood instantly streamed down from Lu Liu’s head.
He endured the dizziness, “Lu Ning, you dare…”
Lu Ning shoved him away, “There’s nothing I don’t dare.”
After doing all this, Lu Ning gave a cold glance at the investors.
The men hurriedly backed away from her, afraid she might throw something else.
Lu Ning said coldly, “I already quit Lu Tian Team. It’s him who’s been using my name to lure investments. You better not get fooled. I will never play for the Lu family again.”
With that, Lu Ning strode toward the door of the private room.
“Lu Ning, stop right there!”
Lu Liu, furious and bleeding, chased after her.
After a few steps, Lu Ning saw Ji Chiqian walking toward her.
The man’s eyes held clear concern, “Why did you come up to the second floor without telling me?”
She had vanished in an instant, and Ji Chiqian had nearly lost his mind.
Lu Ning’s face didn’t look good, “I didn’t want to come. I was dragged here.”
Ji Chiqian noticed Lu Liu chasing over and instinctively shielded Lu Ning behind him, his tone cold and stern, “Stay away from her.”
“Step aside, Lu Ning is my biological younger sister. You have no right to interfere!”
Ji Chiqian pushed Lu Liu away. Already injured, Lu Liu nearly stumbled to the ground.
Lu Liu, furious, barked, “Lu Ning, are you determined to ruin me? What did I ever do to deserve this?”
Lu Ning replied coldly, “You just never understood human speech. Don’t blame me.”
Did Sixth Brother really think she was still the same pushover from before?
Today, she wouldn’t let him have his way.
Leaning against the wall for support, Lu Liu sneered, “Lu Ning, it’s just drinking and apologizing to the investors. You caused this mess, you should clean it up. Now you’ve ruined everything—aren’t you afraid I’ll never talk to you again?”
“That’s the best news I’ve heard. I hope you mean it.”
Lu Ning turned and left. Ji Chiqian glanced at Lu Liu, “Forcing your underage biological younger sister to drink and apologize to those middle-aged men—has your conscience been eaten by dogs?”
Lu Liu looked uncomfortable, “I was going to protect her.”
After all, this mess was Lu Ning’s fault, not his.
Ji Chiqian restrained his anger, “There won’t be a next time.”
He turned to catch up with Lu Ning, and the two walked down the stairs together.
Ji Chiqian was both angry and worried, “Are you alright?”
Lu Ning shook her head, “I just splashed beer all over them and smashed a bottle on Lu Liu’s head.”
“Good job.”
They walked side by side. A drunk person staggered toward them, and Ji Chiqian pulled Lu Ning protectively to his side.
Lu Ning looked up at him, “Why are you always so good to me?”
When Ji Chiqian saw her gaze, his heart softened to an incredible degree, but he forced himself to say, “Lu Ning, I’m just lending a hand. I can’t stand your brother’s favoritism.”
Lu Ning’s gaze faltered, looking a little disheartened.
His words were calm, even gentle, but they bluntly rejected her.
Lu Ning quickly lowered her head, flustered, “I’ll go to the restroom first.”
She turned and hurried down toward the restroom.
Ji Chiqian followed closely behind, his expression darkening, filled with a hidden sorrow accumulated over years.
Only when Lu Ning entered the restroom did Ji Chiqian stop. He stood in place and irritably asked someone for a cigarette.
His slender fingers held the cigarette, and white smoke curled from his thin lips, masking his suppressed emotions.
Gu Zifeng came over with two glasses of wine and handed one over, “The Lu family is really something. Forcing her to drink and apologize!”
Ji Chiqian downed the glass of red wine in one gulp, his eyes dark.
“I’m warning you, keep some distance from Xiao Ning. Don’t be too good to her.”
“Aren’t you good to her too?”
Ji Chiqian bit the cigarette, frowning.
Gu Zifeng raised an eyebrow, “That’s different. Seeing how the Lu family treats Xiao Ning, who the hell can stand it?”
Ji Chiqian lowered his eyes, “That’s why some things are beyond control.”
“That’s true.”
Gu Zifeng gave him a meaningful look. When had he ever seen this man so frustrated that he needed a cigarette?
The last time was when their company was about to go public and they were betrayed by an insider, making the listing precarious.
All these years, he had seen this man calmly strategizing and managing crises, hardly ever flustered.
It seemed that girl named Lu Ning had become something different to Ji Chiqian.
At this moment, Lu Ning was sitting on the toilet in the restroom, rubbing her face.
The braver she had been just now, the more embarrassed she felt now.
Lu Ning stayed in the restroom for a long time, wishing she could dig a hole and disappear.
When there was a knock at the door, Lu Ning finally came out of the stall and gave up her spot.
As she walked to the sink and washed her hands dispiritedly, a surprised voice came from beside her, “Lu Ning, where did you go just now?”
Lu Ning looked up and saw Qin Xiang, then lowered her gaze and continued washing her hands without responding.
But Qin Xiang carefully observed Lu Ning, “You came to the bar and are hugging other men. If Second Brother finds out, he’ll be angry.”
Lu Ning rolled her eyes and walked straight out.
Qin Xiang chased after her, “Sister Ningning, why are you leaving? I’m just worried about you. Sixth Brother is here too. Because we lost the match, the investors want to withdraw.”
Lu Ning sneered, “You can only blame yourselves for being terrible.”
Qin Xiang immediately put on a pitiful face. Gu Yan stepped forward, “Lu Ning, watch your attitude. If you bully my girlfriend again, I’ll deal with you.”
Originally, Gu Yan had been interested in Lu Ning, but after she humiliated him, he turned his attention to the pure and sensible Qin Xiang.
Now, he thought he must let Lu Ning see how well Qin Xiang was doing and make her regret rejecting him.
Unexpectedly, the opportunity presented itself today.
Lu Ning’s eyes were full of mockery, “If acting pitiful counts as bullying, then prisons wouldn’t be able to hold all the criminals.”
“Watch your mouth. Qin Xiang only stepped in because you refused to play in the match!”
Lu Ning sneered, “Qin Xiang played so badly and still dared to replace me. Shameless.”
Qin Xiang gritted her teeth in anger.
Because of the loss, Sixth Brother’s attitude toward her had cooled a lot. She blamed everything on Lu Ning.
At that moment, Lu Liu appeared, holding a towel to his head, his expression especially dark.
He looked at Lu Ning, “At least Qin Xiang fought for the Lu family. What have you ever done for it?”
