Miss Lu Turned Her Back, Her Six Brothers Begged for Forgiveness - Chapter 95:
Chapter 95: Lu Ning, Do You Really Have No Regard for Sibling Bonds?
Big Brother is back?
Lu Ning wasn’t surprised. The corners of her mouth curled into a mocking smile, “So what if he’s back? It has nothing to do with me.”
“Second Brother’s illness this time was serious. He couldn’t handle the company’s affairs, so Big Brother found out. He also knows you scored first in the entire city.”
Lu Liu’s emotions were complicated. He hadn’t expected Lu Ning to do so well.
Lu Ning spoke coldly, “So what?”
“Big Brother’s flight lands tonight. You know his temper. I suggest you move back home for now and leave after he’s gone. Second Brother and I will keep it a secret for you.”
He understood now that Lu Ning had moved out because she was heartbroken.
He wanted to make up for it slowly.
Lu Ning hadn’t expected Big Brother to return so soon.
But then again, after the exams, he was bound to come back—just like in her previous life.
It was something she had to face eventually.
Lu Ning’s expression stayed indifferent, “No need.”
“Lu Ning, there’s no point in butting heads with Big Brother. You’ll only get hurt. Maybe that school doctor will be dragged down with you too. You know Big Brother’s temper. He’s capable of anything.”
Lu Ning grew annoyed, “I’ll handle it myself. Stay out of it.”
Of course, she knew Big Brother was trouble.
But she wouldn’t accept Lu Liu’s suggestion. Since she had already left the Lu family, she wasn’t going back.
Lu Liu sighed helplessly, “Lu Ning, do you really hate Second Brother and me that much?”
They knew they owed her and wanted to make amends, but she wouldn’t accept it.
They were siblings—how could there be a grudge that couldn’t be resolved overnight?
Lu Ning’s eyes were full of mockery, “We’ve long severed our ties. Whatever you’re saying has nothing to do with me.”
…
Back at the apartment, Lu Ning ruffled her hair irritably.
She didn’t care about herself.
She was just worried about dragging Ji Chiqian into this.
After finishing her livestream that night, Ji Chiqian still hadn’t come home.
Lu Ning sat on the sofa waiting and eventually fell asleep.
She didn’t know how long she slept until the door opened.
Opening her eyes, she saw Ji Chiqian at the entrance, helping a drunken Gu Zifeng inside.
She got up, “You guys had a social gathering?”
“You’re still awake?”
Ji Chiqian dragged Gu Zifeng to the room and tossed him onto the bed. Then he turned back to Lu Ning, “You have something to say?”
“Yes.”
Ji Chiqian casually took off his suit jacket, loosened his tie, and unbuttoned a few buttons.
Lu Ning immediately ran to pour water, first placing a glass of lemon water by Gu Zifeng’s bed, then trotted over and placed another glass in front of Ji Chiqian.
Ji Chiqian’s gaze landed on her delicate hand, and his throat moved slightly, “What is it?”
He guessed it might be related to the white lotus reporting her grades.
Lu Ning looked at him, “I want to find a new place to live. I don’t want to stay here anymore.”
Ji Chiqian raised an eyebrow, his gaze locking onto her face, seeing her nervousness and hesitation, “Why?”
“Because it’s not right to freeload in your place. Now that I have money, I can buy my own house.”
Lu Ning casually found an excuse.
She added, “Besides, if you get a girlfriend in the future, it’d be inconvenient for Gu Zifeng to stay here.”
“Worried my girlfriend will have no place to sleep?”
His voice was hoarse, with a hint of teasing.
He leaned lazily on the sofa, his shirt collar wide open, not minding exposing his collarbone.
Seeing his casual and lazy demeanor, Lu Ning felt somewhat lured in.
She lowered her gaze, “Just a kind suggestion.”
“Relax. She’ll sleep with me.”
Ji Chiqian’s lips curved in a smile, “Little Lu Ning, you’re quite young, but you think a lot.”
Hearing those words, Lu Ning’s mood instantly soured.
She couldn’t imagine him treating another girl so well, sleeping on the same bed. It made her uncomfortable.
Lu Ning’s face became expressionless, “I’ll go rest now.”
She turned and left, slamming the door a bit harder than necessary.
Ji Chiqian raised an eyebrow at the sound. Was she angry?
“Brother Qian, you’re not being honest. You don’t even have a girlfriend.”
“I didn’t lie. If you have a girlfriend, don’t you sleep in the same room?”
Gu Zifeng took a sip of lemon water, “You’re playing word games. Xiao Ning is so sweet, even remembered to put water by my bed. Honestly, if not for her status, I think she suits you.”
Ji Chiqian’s eyes darkened, “Don’t joke about that.”
“Alright, serious now. I just got the news: the exam surveillance was pulled, and that white lotus clearly cheated. Very obvious evidence. What do you plan to do?”
Ji Chiqian’s thin lips curved slightly, though his smile didn’t reach his eyes, “Do what needs to be done.”
Pests must be crushed.
…
Lu Ning lay in bed, fuming at Ji Chiqian’s words, wishing she could beat him into a pig’s head.
She felt miserable.
She had almost managed to forget about Ji Chiqian having a girlfriend, thinking she could pretend it wasn’t real.
But it was just self-deception.
She had suggested moving out so that when Big Brother came after her, he wouldn’t target Ji Chiqian.
Because of that, Lu Ning barely slept that night.
…
The next day, she got a call from Secretary Zhang, “Miss, the game you participated in developing is about to launch. We need all team members to attend a final meeting. As a tech contributor, you need to be there this afternoon. Are you available?”
“I don’t want to go. It won’t matter if I’m not there.”
Lu Ning didn’t want to see anyone from the Lu family.
“Miss, this is work-related. I understand how you feel, but work is work. If you plan to start a business or work in the future and it involves the Lu family, are you going to avoid it forever?”
“Who said I’m avoiding it?”
Lu Ning thought for a moment, “Fine. I’ll come later.”
After hanging up, she felt annoyed.
She wasn’t someone who would escape forever.
…
In the afternoon, she went to the hospital. Second Brother was still hospitalized.
Walking into the ward, she saw several members of the project team—it really was a meeting.
On the way, she had worried it might be a setup to trick her into coming.
Lu Nanfeng’s expression softened when he saw her, “You’re here. Let’s start the meeting.”
Lu Ning stood quietly, listening to everyone discuss. Some complained that the partners were pushing hard on deadlines.
She realized that’s why Gu Zifeng and Ji Chiqian had been so busy recently.
After the meeting, Lu Ning kept her head down, ready to leave.
“Ningning, wait.”
Soon, only the two of them were left in the ward.
Lu Nanfeng said, “Did you know Big Brother came back last night?”
“I know. But my decision won’t change.”
Just as she reached the door, a group of people appeared outside.
The man leading them wore a suit, his features sharp and cold.
Big Brother, Lu Dongyou, said coldly, “Stop. Where do you think you’re going? Come back with me!”
