It wasn’t until the early morning light filtered through the window that Qin Xiu finally stood up.

“Nishang should be awake by now. It’s time to give her this surprise.”

He walked out quickly, but the moment he pushed open the gate to Yun Nishang’s courtyard, he heard sobbing from within.

Inside the room, Yun Nishang curled up in the corner. Her flawless and delicate face was streaked with tears.
