On My Wedding Day, I Went to Kill My Junior Brother—Why Are You Crying When I'm the One Leaving? - Chapter 2:
Chapter 2: Settling Accounts
As soon as Hun Yu entered, he heard Mu Qingwan’s angry voice. His eyes narrowed slightly.
Mu Qingwan snapped, “You idiot, who gave you permission to do that? Hun Yu can’t cultivate—what does that have to do with you? Why would you take such a risk for him? Does he deserve it? Even if he could cultivate, so what? You think I’d ever live a loving life with him? Agreeing to marry him was already my bottom line. And now, you got hurt because of him? Just wait, I’ll teach him a lesson later!”
At that moment, Xiao Han noticed Hun Yu’s arrival. He raised his brows and deliberately said, “Ah~ today is the wedding day between Sister Qingwan and Brother Hun Yu! It’s already near dusk. Sister, how could you stay here with me and not go to the ceremony with Brother Hun Yu? Ah~ it’s all my fault. I deserve death!”
Mu Qingwan gripped his hand and said, “Don’t say such things. Death? If anyone deserves to die, it’s Hun Yu. Why isn’t he the one dead? Wedding ceremony? You’re this badly hurt, and you think I’d be in the mood to marry him? As long as you’re alright, who cares about him!”
At this point, everyone in the room had noticed Hun Yu, but they couldn’t help feeling he seemed… different.
Seeing him enter, Mu Qingwan immediately stood up and stormed toward him in fury. “This is all your fault, you useless waste! You caused Xiao Han to be this badly hurt. You deserve to die!”
As she spoke, she raised her arm and swung it toward Hun Yu’s face.
But in the next moment, she froze in shock. Her slap had missed. Hun Yu had dodged.
She stared at him in disbelief, then her expression twisted in rage. She snapped coldly, “You actually dared to dodge?”
Since they were young, whenever she wanted something, Hun Yu would always find a way to get it for her. Whenever she threw a tantrum or got upset, he’d try everything to coax her. If she wanted to hit him, he would stand still and take it, never dodging, never fighting back.
But today, he dodged. That infuriated her even more. She raised her hand to slap him again, but this time, Hun Yu caught her wrist.
His eyes no longer held infatuation or love, but cold indifference.
In a clear and chilling voice, Hun Yu said, “On our wedding day, you left me and a hall full of guests to run off and care for another man, and now you want to hit me?”
Mu Qingwan fumed and snapped, “Let go, or don’t blame me for being ruthless!”
Hun Yu didn’t release her. Instead, he tightened his grip until his knuckles turned white, showing the strength he was using.
Mu Qingwan struggled hard before finally breaking free. She cursed, “You hurt me, you bastard!”
“A wedding day? So what? Don’t you know Xiao Han got injured by a demonic beast trying to get a rare herb for you? What’s wrong with me taking care of him? His life is more important than some marriage! Besides, what makes you think I have to marry you? If it weren’t for fulfilling Master’s old promise, who would ever want to marry you? You have no spiritual Qi, your foundation is destroyed, your talent is pathetic—what makes you think you deserve me? You think you’re worthy of marrying me?”
Third Senior Sister Hua Wucuo chimed in, “Exactly. Who do you think you are? A useless scholar. You should be thankful you even got a wedding like this. Do you really think you deserve Sister Qingwan? Pfft~”
Fourth Senior Sister Lin Xi rolled her eyes and said, “Do you have any capability at all? All you ever do is follow behind us like a stray dog. You’re useless in everything. And now, you caused Xiao Han to get this badly hurt, yet you still have the face to come here and question Sister Qingwan? What are you? You’re not even worthy of comparing to Xiao Han’s pinky.”
Fifth Senior Sister Mo Qiuli said nothing, but she stared coldly at Hun Yu. Her clenched fists and the violent gleam in her eyes showed she was furious and itching to beat him to the ground.
At that moment, Master Zhou Yashi also said coldly, “Who let you in here? Don’t you see we’re healing Xiao Han? The wedding day has passed. Just hold another ceremony tomorrow. What are you doing here making trouble? Get out!”
If it had been the old Hun Yu, he would’ve already lowered his head in shame from being scolded like this. He wouldn’t have dared say a word, would’ve dropped to his knees to beg forgiveness, and quietly left, never daring to bring it up again.
But now—everything had changed. He had been reborn!
If he still walked the same old path, it would be a disgrace to the heavens for granting him this second chance.
With his hands behind his back and head held high, Hun Yu said calmly, without a hint of submission, “Mu Qingwan, you and I grew up together. From a young age, I gave you all of my cultivation resources so you could sense spiritual Qi early. It was thanks to my support that you achieved what you have today.”
“Twelve years ago, I was six. You were chased by a wild dog and nearly torn apart. I didn’t hesitate to rush in, fought it head-on, and bit it to death with my bare teeth to save you. That’s the only reason you’re still alive.”
“Ten years ago, you went out to play alone and were bitten by a spirit snake in the back mountain. You almost died. It was me who sucked the venom from your body. I was poisoned and nearly lost my life. If not for sheer luck, I wouldn’t be here now.”
“Eight years ago, the four of you stole fruit from a demonic beast. It chased you all across the back mountain. I stayed behind to buy time for your escape, lured it away, and fooled it into the territory of an even more powerful beast. Only then did I come back alive.”
“Whenever any of you wanted something, no matter how difficult, I never hesitated. I never once disappointed you. Back then, none of you treated me like this.”
“And now? Anyone can call me trash—but not you.”
“You want to know why I can’t cultivate? Why my foundation is broken? Why I have poor talent? All because of you!”
“Years ago, you acted recklessly under Master’s protection and provoked the disciple of a powerful figure. You even ganged up and crippled him. That powerhouse came for revenge. Even though the sect master and elders fought to defend you, in the end, someone had to pay. Someone had to give justice.”
“I pitied you and stepped forward to take the blame. My foundation was destroyed that day. My cultivation crippled. You think I was always like this? Before that, I was known as a once-in-a-century genius. How did I end up as a scholar with no cultivation?”
“What am I to you all? A servant you can scold and order around?”
“And him? Someone who’s only been in the sect for a dozen years, who’s done nothing, yet gets all your care and protection. And me?”
