Chapter 65: From Eternity! The Terrifying Existence That Controls the Fantasy World! Amazing Luck!:

Qiu Ruohan had left.

Moments later, Lin Ang slowly opened his eyes, calming the power surging within him after his recent breakthrough to the 2nd stage Grandmaster realm.

He had already sensed Qiu Ruohan’s departure. This was her destiny, and he had no reason to interfere with her luck. Stopping her would only block her path, causing her to lose her status as the Daughter of Destiny, and dim her bright future.

“2nd stage Grandmaster Realm.” Lin Ang murmured to himself. “The Holy Land election is drawing closer.”

“It’s time to visit the Ancient God Empire and seize the opportunities there.”

He recalled Gu Chen’s luck entry, which mentioned “The Sutra of the Immortal Emperor,” an ancient and powerful technique. Acquiring this technique before the Holy Land election would provide him with a significant advantage, enabling him to outshine the other prodigies of all races.

With that thought, Lin Ang rose to his feet and, under the cover of darkness, left Cangxuan Peak. As he descended the mountain, several inner sect elders met him, bowing respectfully.

“Holy Son Lin Ang, are you leaving the sect?” one of the elders asked. “Do you wish to announce your journey so that all the races may welcome you? Should we prepare a flying boat and have the elders accompany you?”

Now that Lin Ang was a Holy Son, his status was highly revered. If he were to visit the major sects and empires, it would be expected that he travel with a grand entourage.

Lin Ang shook his head. “This is a quiet journey. I’m going to retrieve something important and will not reveal my identity. I’ll return within a month. Don’t draw any attention.”

With those words, Lin Ang’s body flickered as he transformed into a stream of light. His hands were behind his back as he walked over the sea near Cangxuan Peak, disappearing into the distance.

“Farewell, Holy Son Lin Ang!” the elders and disciples called out, bowing deeply. “Safe travels!”

After leaving the Azure Cloud Sect, Lin Ang traveled west, his speed unmatched.

Now that he had entered the Grandmaster realm, the forces of heaven and earth seemed to bow to him. He crossed mountains and seas in mere moments, and within an hour, he reached the realm of the Ancient God Empire.

The Ancient God Empire exuded an air of ancient grandeur. Though the Empire had fallen from its former glory, the spirit of its past as a holy pilgrimage lingered in the atmosphere.

Under the night sky, Lin Ang could see the faint outlines of cities and the flicker of thousands of lights in the distance.

“It truly was a holy land,” Lin Ang thought. “Even in decline, its aura of majesty is beyond that of ordinary empires. The Empire may have fallen, but its luck remains. If a powerful force attempted to destroy this Empire today, they would be cursed and doomed to collapse within a century.”

He continued westward, making his way to “Broken Moon Cliff,” a location in the northern mountains of the Ancient God Empire. According to Gu Chen’s luck entry, this was where Gu Chen would soon be hunted by the royal family. Lin Ang intended to arrive first and take advantage of the situation.

Under the moonlight, Lin Ang’s form was like a shadow, speeding swiftly through the night.

“The sky is dry, be careful with candles…” A few city watchmen were walking along the streets, holding lanterns.

Suddenly, a dark figure flashed by, so fast that their lanterns were extinguished instantly.

“What…what was that?”

The watchmen looked at each other, dumbfounded and terrified, before they dropped their lanterns and fled in fear.

Late that night, Lin Ang arrived at Broken Moon Cliff. The towering cliff loomed high, and the massive rocks surrounding it cast dark shadows that blocked the moonlight, giving the cliff its name.

“This is the place,” Lin Ang muttered as he scanned the area, identifying the exact location he was looking for.

Without hesitation, he leaped from the cliff’s edge, descending swiftly.

As Lin Ang fell, he expertly stepped on the rocky outcroppings, maneuvering himself like a shadow among the branches and ledges. Within moments, he reached the bottom of the cliff, where the terrain was treacherous, littered with jagged rocks, and inhabited by fearsome beasts.

“If I hadn’t known about this place beforehand, it would have been nearly impossible to find it.” Lin Ang thought.

By the faint light of the moon, Lin Ang navigated the dangerous terrain. After some searching, he found what he was looking for—a dark, hidden cave.

The cave was pitch black, as if no one had set foot there for thousands of years. But to a Grandmaster like Lin Ang, even the darkness seemed as bright as day. Inside the cave, the air was still and ancient, with a thick sense of time having passed.

At the center of the cave, Lin Ang found what he sought. A golden corpse sat upright, bathed in an eternal golden light. Though it had long lost all vitality, its body remained perfectly intact, untouched by time. This person must have been an immensely powerful figure in life.

Before the golden corpse, rows of golden text were etched into the stone walls. Lin Ang approached to examine the writing.

“The ancient holy Empire, twelfth emperor, Gu Chengzhong. Before my fall, I inscribed ‘The Sutra of the Immortal Emperor’ here. I hope that one day, a worthy successor will find this place, so that my pilgrimage’s legacy will not be lost.”

“I, Gu Chengzhong, was invincible throughout my life. But the Kunxu God Empire feared that my Ancient God Empire would surpass the Holy Lands, so they sent assassins to hunt me down. I had no choice but to flee to this cave, where I met my end. My only regret is that I cannot pass this legacy to my descendants.”

“I name my ninth son, Gu Jinlong, as my successor.”

Reading these words, Lin Ang couldn’t help but be impressed. Even after ten thousand years, the golden letters still glowed with power. It was clear that Emperor Gu Chengzhong’s cultivation had surpassed even the Immortal Realm, reaching an unknown, higher level.

“It’s a pity,” Lin Ang mused. “A powerful emperor like this fell in such a tragic way. He left behind his inheritance, yet no one discovered it, leading to the downfall of his Empire.”

He sat down before the golden corpse, focusing on the golden scriptures etched into the cave walls. As he studied them, the golden letters seemed to lift off the walls, floating into the air and forming a radiant, complete text.

“This is it…the legendary ‘The Immortal Emperor Sutra,'” Lin Ang whispered.

He absorbed the scriptures into his mind, and with each word he read, a profound understanding of the technique flooded into him.

As Lin Ang immersed himself in the Immortal Emperor Sutra, far away in the Ancient God Empire’s imperial city, a young man knelt before a portrait in a cold and crumbling palace. Tears filled his eyes as he gazed at the familiar yet desolate surroundings.

With a face full of sorrow, Gu Chen knelt before the portrait of his mother. “Mother… Father worked tirelessly for years to ascend the throne as emperor. But you are gone…”

The portrait depicted a mature woman in a long white dress, though it had become worn and faded with time. This young man, paying his respects in secret, was none other than the fourth prince of the Ancient God Empire, Gu Chen. This room had once been his mother’s living quarters, but ever since her mysterious death, it had been sealed off, turning into a forbidden area within the palace. No one was allowed inside, not even the prince himself. Gu Chen only dared to sneak in once a year, on his mother’s birthday, when the palace was quieter.

“Mother…” he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. “My older brothers have all died, one after the other. Even my younger siblings… they passed away so young. Now, I am the only prince left.”

He clenched his fists, his tone turning anxious. “Father has always treated me well, giving me rare medicines to strengthen my bloodline. But something about it… something feels wrong. It’s unsettling.”

His voice was filled with fear. “These past two years, Father has become so cold… so distant and ruthless. I don’t even recognize him anymore. Only in this place do I feel a shred of the warmth I once knew. Oh, Mother… if only you were still here, things would be different.”

Tears welled in Gu Chen’s eyes as he stared at his mother’s portrait. Since his father, Gu Cangqing, ascended to the throne, Gu Chen had lived in constant fear. If not for his fiancée, Chen Yao’er, Gu Chen might have already renounced his title and fled from the palace.

“Father did everything to secure the throne,” Gu Chen whispered, his voice barely audible. “He framed Grandpa Huang… he murdered all his brothers. Even you, Mother, left so suddenly. I never even had the chance to say goodbye.”

His voice quivered, and a dark suspicion filled his heart. “I suspect…”

But just as he was about to speak the unspeakable, Gu Chen noticed a long, thin shadow creeping along the floor. His heart froze. Someone was standing at the entrance of the hall, watching in silence. The flickering candlelight cast the figure’s shadow, making it sway slightly.

Startled, Gu Chen’s hands knocked over the candles beside him. “W-who’s there?!”

He spun around to face the entrance. By the dim light, he could make out the figure of a middle-aged man, dressed in a dragon robe with a golden crown atop his head. His face was cold, half-hidden in the shadows, but his presence alone radiated a terrifying pressure. It was none other than his father—His Majesty, Gu Cangqing, Emperor of the Ancient God Empire.

“Chen’er,” Gu Cangqing’s voice was ice-cold. “I did not give you permission to be here.”

Gu Chen’s heart pounded in his chest. Overwhelmed by fear, he fell to his knees and kowtowed repeatedly. “Father, forgive me! I came here because I missed my mother. Please… please forgive me!”

His voice shook with desperation, the words tumbling out of his mouth. “I beg for your mercy!”

For a long moment, Gu Cangqing was silent. Then, in a voice devoid of emotion, he spoke. “Go back to your quarters. If you come here again without permission, I will not forgive you. Even I have limits to my tolerance.”

Hearing this, Gu Chen hurriedly kowtowed again, his forehead touching the cold stone floor. “Yes, Father. I will leave at once!”

He scrambled to his feet and rushed out of the hall, his heart still racing with fear. As he disappeared into the night, only the cold, shadowy figure of Gu Cangqing remained in the hall, standing before the worn portrait of Gu Chen’s mother.

In the dim candlelight, Gu Cangqing’s expression was unreadable, but his words were chilling. “Chen’er, it seems you’re starting to suspect me.”

His eyes narrowed, and a cruel glint flickered in them as he muttered to himself. “Your eighteenth birthday is approaching…”

A deadly intent flashed in his eyes, the kind of merciless coldness that only an emperor, accustomed to the ruthless politics of power, could possess.
