Chapter 6: Blood Ties Don’t Matter

“Forget it. She’s already been taught a lesson. Spare her this time,” Su Nuanyue’s voice sounded.

Qin Yang immediately withdrew his hand and smiled, “Qin Xue, aren’t you going to thank Nuanyue? She just saved you.”

Qin Xue was so furious she rolled her eyes and fainted.

“You unfilial son! I’ll beat you to death!”

Jiang Wanrou slapped toward Qin Yang’s face.

Qin Yang grabbed Qin Weiye and pulled him in front of himself.

Slap!

A crisp slap landed on Qin Weiye’s face, leaving five clear finger marks.

“What are you doing?”

Qin Weiye roared.

“Ah, dear, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to,” Jiang Wanrou was startled and quickly apologized.

“Shut up.”

Qin Weiye barked coldly.

Jiang Wanrou fell silent.

“I find it strange, Qin Weiye. Don’t families like yours value sons the most, wanting a son to inherit the family business? Now you have a real son like me, yet you don’t value me. Could it be you want to hand the family assets over to Qin Li, the adopted son?” Qin Yang asked.

The guests’ eyes lit up. Was there more drama here?

“Shut up! It’s because you’re useless. You can’t even match one ten-thousandth of Xiao Li. You still think you can inherit the family business? Let me tell you—impossible!”

Qin Weiye shouted angrily.

Qin Yang looked thoughtful, his gaze shifting between Qin Li and Qin Weiye, “I noticed you two look quite alike. Could it be… you really have some connection? Maybe he’s your biological son too?”

“If that’s the case, it all makes sense,” Su Nuanyue said lightly.

“Of course. We already said Qin Li is the true young master of our Qin family,” Jiang Wanrou immediately added.

Qin Yang gave her a look of pity and said, “If I were you, I’d get a brain scan first, then drag Qin Weiye and Qin Li to get a paternity test.”

Before Jiang Wanrou could react, Qin Weiye’s face changed dramatically.

“You’re spouting nonsense, Qin Yang! You must be crazy,” he roared.

Su Nuanyue’s eyes flashed with mockery.

“Apologies, everyone. Today’s banquet ends here. The Qin family has private matters to attend to,” Qin Weiye announced.

At that moment, Jiang Wanrou seemed to realize something.

She stared hard at Qin Li as if recalling something.

“Mom, why are you looking at me like that?” Qin Li said uneasily.

Jiang Wanrou’s gaze shifted to Qin Weiye, her voice cold, “Qin Weiye, tell me, why does Qin Li look so much like that woman?”

“What nonsense are you spouting? Qin Li was picked up by you. How would I know? Don’t listen to that unfilial son’s nonsense and hurt Qin Li,” Qin Weiye said.

Jiang Wanrou thought for a moment and nodded, “You’re right. I was almost tricked by that unfilial son.”

Qin Li clung to Jiang Wanrou’s arm, looking pitiful, “Mom, don’t blame Brother. Even though he caused chaos after coming back and injured our family members, he’s still your biological son. Don’t blame him too harshly.”

Qin Weiye sneered, “What biological son? A son needs affection to be a real son. Blood ties mean nothing.”

“Exactly. You’re our true son. How could that bumpkin from the countryside ever compare?” Jiang Wanrou agreed.

“A bunch of idiots,” Qin Yang sighed.

“Agreed,” Su Nuanyue said.

“Alright, it’s late. You should rest. I’ll come tomorrow to start your treatment,” Qin Yang said.

“I’ll be waiting,” Su Nuanyue replied softly.

She could see clearly now—even without her stepping in, the Qin family couldn’t take advantage of Qin Yang.

The guests gradually left.

However, what happened at the Qin family today would inevitably become the laughingstock of the southern city and a topic for gossip among the major families.

“Hmph, as expected of a bumpkin. No sense of the bigger picture. Stirring up trouble like this only humiliates our Qin family and causes us losses,” Qin Weiye said coldly.

He was furious. If not for Qin Yang’s terrifying skills, he would’ve already ordered the bodyguards to act.

“What does your Qin family have to do with me? You don’t even acknowledge me as your son, and you’re not planning to give me the inheritance. Why should I care about your Qin family? I’m not as brainless as you,” Qin Yang said indifferently.

“You…”

Qin Weiye clutched his chest, trembling.

Qin Yang sneered.

He yawned and said, “Forget it. I’m going to rest. Talking to you lowers my IQ.”

After saying that, Qin Yang went back to his room.

At that moment, Qin Xue slowly woke up.

The intense pain made her wail.

“Dad, my legs are broken! I’m going to kill that bastard! I’ll cripple him!”

Qin Weiye looked grim.

Just then, Qin Yang’s voice came from his room, “Shut up. Cry again, and I’ll cut out your tongue.”

Qin Xue immediately shut her mouth.

Her face was full of fear. She truly believed Qin Yang would do such a thing.

“Take her to the hospital,” Qin Weiye said.

Several bodyguards hurried to carry Qin Xue out.

No matter how much it hurt, Qin Xue didn’t dare make a sound. Qin Yang had frightened her too much.

“Dad, we must teach Brother a lesson, or he’ll harm you both,” Qin Li suddenly said.

“What do you have in mind?”

Qin Weiye was also worried.

Qin Yang’s ruthlessness was terrifying—he broke Qin Xue’s legs without even blinking.

He feared Qin Yang might turn on him next.

Why had he brought this disaster back?

Thinking of this, Qin Weiye looked at Qin Li with some resentment.

If it hadn’t been for Qin Li’s unwillingness to marry Su Nuanyue, none of this trouble would have happened.

Qin Li, oblivious to Qin Weiye’s displeasure, was still lost in his own thoughts.

“I’m classmates with Ye Nantian’s son. I used to help him deal with teachers, and he’s very grateful. I can ask him to send someone to deal with Qin Yang,” Qin Li said.

Qin Weiye’s eyes lit up.

Ye Nantian was the underground overlord of the southern city, with countless powerful men under his command.

If they could get Ye Nantian’s men, Qin Yang would definitely be no match for them.

“Good, still the smart one. Much better than that unfilial son,” Qin Weiye praised.

Jiang Wanrou added, “Just don’t go too far. Break his legs, but don’t kill him. Otherwise, who will marry Su Nuanyue for us?”

“Mom, don’t worry. I’m just asking them to teach Brother a lesson. After all, he’s your biological son. How could I really hurt him?”

Qin Li said with a smile.

But inside, he was sneering coldly.

He definitely planned to cripple Qin Yang.

As long as Qin Yang stayed alive, he could still be married off to Su Nuanyue.
