The Beautiful CEO Only Loves Me - Chapter 18:
Chapter 18: Where Is My Wife?
Xu Tian froze when he heard Chen Xiaoxiao’s cold voice questioning him.
“What exactly happened?”
He had been by Tang Bingyan’s side at the hospital for the past two days. When had he ever been with another woman?
As for trying to harm Tang Bingyan—that was even more impossible!
“Heh, Xu Tian, things have reached this point and you’re still pretending?”
“I don’t feel like wasting words on you. Sign the divorce papers or don’t—either way, forget about touching a single bit of Tang Zong’s assets!”

Before he could respond, Chen Xiaoxiao hung up.
Listening to the busy tone on the line, Xu Tian slowly took a deep breath.
He looked down at his phone, hesitating whether or not to call back. But in the end, he gave up and handed the phone back to Wu Yan.
He understood Chen Xiaoxiao’s temper all too well. He knew she had always been prejudiced against him, and nothing he said would change that.
“Mr. Xu, what about this…” Wu Yan asked again, gently pushing the divorce agreement forward.
“I won’t sign a single word until I see her in person.”
With that, Xu Tian turned and left the room.
Ring ring…
Not long after he left, his phone rang again.
It was his foster father, Xu Pingfeng.
Seeing the caller ID, Xu Tian’s expression immediately darkened.
If Xu Pingfeng was calling now, it was undoubtedly related to Tang Bingyan’s sudden departure from Jiangcheng.
Xu Tian answered the call, his tone cold.
“Xu Tian, did you and Bingyan get divorced?” Xu Pingfeng’s voice was unusually calm.
“I haven’t signed yet.”
There was a brief silence on the other end.
Then—
“What do you mean you haven’t signed?!”
“Why not?!”
“What did I tell you before? Get your ass back here now and explain everything to me!”
Xu Tian smirked coldly.
In his past life, he had treated Xu Pingfeng like a real father, thinking everything he did was for his own good—he followed every word without question.
Was he out of his mind back then?
If he had the choice, he would never involve himself with this family again.
But right now, he didn’t yet know the full truth of what happened with Tang Bingyan.
He had to figure it out first before dealing with anything else.
Taking a breath to suppress the fury in his heart, he said, “I’ll come back now.”
…
Fucheng Community, Building A, Apartment 36.
As soon as he entered the apartment, Xu Tian saw his foster father Xu Pingfeng with a grim expression and his foster mother Yang Rongjuan wearing her usual gentle face.
He cut straight to the point:
“Talk. What did you do that made my wife suddenly decide to leave?”
Xu Pingfeng’s expression grew darker. “How should we know why Tang Bingyan left? Xu Tian, a marriage is a big deal. And you dare divorce Tang Bingyan without consulting us? That’s pure nonsense!”
“Pingfeng, don’t be angry. Xu Tian’s still a child. He’s young and doesn’t understand much,” Yang Rongjuan said gently, playing the kind mother. “Now that Bingyan has decided to divorce him, he must be very upset. Let’s not scold him anymore.”
“Hmph!” Xu Pingfeng snorted. His expression eased slightly as he looked at Xu Tian and said, “Regardless of what you’re thinking, once you divorce, all of Tang Bingyan’s assets in Jiangcheng will belong to you. But look at the state you’re in—how can we trust you to manage all that?”
“Here’s the deal. After you sign the divorce agreement, come with me to transfer the assets. We’ll manage them for you until you’re capable enough. Then we’ll hand them back.”
Yang Rongjuan didn’t try to comfort him this time. She nodded earnestly. “Xu Tian, your father is right. You’re still young and reckless. Let us manage them for now—that’s the safest option.”
Xu Tian’s lips curled into a cold smile.
“So, the reason you called me back… was for my wife’s assets in Jiangcheng.”
No wonder Yang Rongjuan had suddenly started taking his side earlier—there was always something fishy when she acted out of character.
Xu Pingfeng stood up sharply. “What are you trying to say, Xu Tian? I’m your father! You think I’d harm you? I’m helping you manage those properties for your own good!”
Xu Tian suddenly laughed. “For my own good? Xu Pingfeng, if you really cared about me, you wouldn’t have wanted me to get divorced in the first place!”
Xu Pingfeng’s face instantly darkened.
Yang Rongjuan hurried to smooth things over. “Xu Tian, we understand the situation between you and Bingyan. For both your sakes, divorce is the best option.”
“We can even sign a written agreement stating that the assets after the divorce will still belong to you. We’ll only manage them for you. Whatever profits they make during that time will all be yours.”
“No need. I said I won’t get divorced. Don’t you understand plain language?” Xu Tian’s tone was icy.
Yang Rongjuan sighed. “Xu Tian, we raised you for more than twenty years. No matter what, we would never harm you, right?”
“Never harm me?”
Xu Tian suddenly smiled, and the chill in his voice deepened:
“Your idea of ‘not harming me’ is scheming to get my wife into bed with your real son, Xu Rixin?”
“Is it trying to get me to divorce Tang Bingyan so Xu Rixin can marry her?”
“Is it constantly praying that I’ll divorce her just so you can snatch away what she gave to me?”
“If that’s what you call not harming me, then I should thank you for not killing me yet!”
Xu Pingfeng and Yang Rongjuan’s faces turned terribly ugly.
They hadn’t expected Xu Tian to bring all this up so directly.
Before they could respond, Xu Tian cut them off again with a cold glare.
“I’ll ask one last time—was it your scheme that made my wife leave? Where is she now?”
“You little bastard! What does her leaving have to do with us? She left because she didn’t want to see you another day in her life! Divorcing her is the only thing you can do to make it up to her!”
Xu Pingfeng’s face grew darker as he barked, “Xu Tian, like it or not, I’m still your father! If you want to stay in this family, sign that damn divorce agreement!”
Xu Tian scoffed. “Father? You? Xu Pingfeng, you’re not even worthy of that title!”
“Tell me where Tang Bingyan is, and from this moment on, we’re done. I will never step foot in this house again.”
“You want to sever ties? Fine! Then sign the divorce agreement and leave all of Tang Bingyan’s assets behind. Otherwise, don’t think you’re walking out of here!”
As soon as he finished, three middle-aged men entered the apartment and stood in front of the door.
Xu Tian recognized them—they were the bodyguards employed by Xu Pingfeng and Yang Rongjuan.
At the same time, Yang Rongjuan dropped her act.
She pulled a file from the coffee table and walked up to Xu Tian.
“Xu Tian, sign the divorce agreement that Tang Bingyan gave you, and then sign this one too. After that, you can leave.”
“From this moment on, we’ll have nothing to do with each other.”
