Chapter 30: Chen Xiaoxiao Is Exposed on the Spot
Tang Bingyan was stunned. “He was asking about me?”
“That’s right. According to Li Fujiang, Xu Tian told him you two had a little argument. From the way he said it, Xu Tian even asked him to help mediate and reconcile the relationship.”
“Reconcile?”
Before Tang Bingyan could say more, Chen Xiaoxiao suddenly stepped forward. “Ah Wei! What nonsense are you talking about?!”
She glared at Ah Wei like she wanted to cut him down.
Ah Wei clearly knew how much Tang Bingyan cared for Xu Tian, yet he still chose to tell her such things. Was he trying to make her fall even deeper?

But before her words had even faded, a suited bodyguard entered the room.
“CEO Tang, Attorney Wu heard you’ve returned to Jiangcheng. He’s here to see you now.”
“Attorney Wu?”
Chen Xiaoxiao’s heart sank.
She had previously instructed Attorney Wu to ensure Xu Tian signed the divorce agreement no matter what. She had assumed that since Tang Bingyan hadn’t returned, there was no risk of exposure.
But now that Tang Bingyan was back in Jiangcheng, Wu’s visit could expose everything.
Tang Bingyan noticed Chen Xiaoxiao’s odd reaction and said to the bodyguard, “Let him in.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Soon, Attorney Wu walked in, neatly dressed.

She looked at Tang Bingyan earnestly, trying to explain herself.

“Chen Xiaoxiao, you were the one I trusted the most—and you lied to me!”
Tang Bingyan’s eyes were chillingly cold, as if she were staring at a corpse.
She might have been able to forgive other things.
But not when it came to Xu Tian.

Chen Xiaoxiao must die.

“You know better than anyone what kind of man Xu Tian is. He’s gotten smarter—he pretends to care about you, but deep down, he probably wishes you were dead!”
“I know you won’t believe me now, but you’ll see—he won’t be able to hide his intentions. Within seven days, he’ll reveal his true motives for suddenly acting kind.”
Tang Bingyan’s brows furrowed slightly, her gaze cold.
Her face didn’t show much change, but her eyes flashed with something unreadable.
After a moment of silence, she said indifferently, “Ah Wei, take her down to receive family punishment.”
Ah Wei visibly relaxed.
From the way she spoke, they knew this storm had passed. Tang Bingyan wasn’t going to pursue it further.
But Chen Xiaoxiao would still have to pay.
The Tang family’s internal discipline was harsh. After receiving a round of punishment, she probably wouldn’t be able to get out of bed for ten to fifteen days.
Ah Wei said, “Sister Chen, let’s go.”
Chen Xiaoxiao nodded slightly. She gave Tang Bingyan one last look, then followed Ah Wei out of the room.
