The Beautiful CEO Only Loves Me - Chapter 53:
Chapter 53: Xu Tian Amazes Everyone
Xu Rixin was briefly stunned. “You’re saying Xiaotian should perform?”
Xu Tian frowned upon hearing that. Why was he suddenly involved? However, before he could ask, Tang Xin smiled and looked at him, saying, “Xu Tian, I’ve already agreed to perform in your company’s annual gala opera. But as a condition, you have to perform with me.”
As she spoke, Tang Xin walked to his side and tried to hook her arm around his.
“How about it? The two of us standing on stage would be the perfect match made in heaven, right?”
Xu Tian quickly moved two steps to the side, distancing himself from her. “CEO Tang, I can’t sing. You’d better find someone else.”
Right now, he was doing everything he could to avoid Tang Xin. If he agreed to perform with her, he’d never be able to shake off this unreasonable and willful heiress of the Tang family. More importantly, getting on stage in women’s clothes?
He didn’t want to become everyone’s post-dinner gossip.
Though Xu Tian clearly wanted to avoid her, Tang Xin didn’t get angry. Instead, she insisted, “No way. I think you’re the only one suitable for this role. You must perform with me.”
Xu Tian frowned. “CEO Tang, can you be reasonable?”
Tang Xin smiled and said, “Nope. I’ve already offered to help your company, so as the vice president, shouldn’t you show some appreciation?”
“Sorry, I can’t do it,” Xu Tian still refused. He wouldn’t even casually agree to a role, let alone one that involved cross-dressing. He still had his pride.
Tang Xin said, “You can’t? It’s fine, I can teach you. And besides, this role really suits you.” As she spoke, she pretended to examine him from head to toe. “You’ll look amazing in a gown.”
Xu Tian: “…” Thanks, I feel offended.
Tang Xin turned to Xu Rixin. “Vice President Xu, what do you think?”
Xu Rixin: “…” He only felt a headache coming on. Even if he were slow, he could tell Tang Xin had feelings for Xu Tian now.
Xu Tian was just a loser. Why did he keep getting attention from these heiresses? First it was An Rongxuan, and now Tang Xin. Not to mention Tang Bingyan, who had always been devoted to him. Was Xu Tian’s delicate appearance really that popular? He had always looked down on that kind of refined look—sure, it was pretty, but not masculine enough. Yet now, high-status women like An Rongxuan and Tang Xin kept throwing themselves at him. It was hard not to feel jealous.
Tang Xin frowned slightly and asked again, “I asked you something. Don’t you think Xu Tian should take the role?”
“Ah… I think it’s fine.” Xu Rixin quickly suppressed the jealousy in his heart, forced a smile, and said to Xu Tian, “Xiaotian, CEO Tang is a major client and not even an employee, yet she’s offered to help. As vice president of the Xu Group, you shouldn’t avoid responsibility. Go get ready and rehearse with the others.”
Before Xu Tian could reject again, Xu Rixin stood up and walked out, ordering his secretary as he left, “Xiao Li, get a stylist to do Xu Tian’s makeup and styling.”
As Xu Tian watched Xu Rixin leave, he stepped forward but was blocked by the secretary.
“Vice President, this is the boss’s order. Don’t make things hard for us employees.” The secretary’s attitude was cold, clearly unwilling. Having been around Xu Rixin long enough, he too had come to see Xu Tian as useless and didn’t have a favorable view of him.
Xu Tian glanced around and noticed many employees were watching. Just as Xu Rixin said, even Tang Xin, an outsider, had stepped in to help. If he continued to refuse as the vice president, it would certainly draw criticism.
But the thought of cross-dressing on stage still made him uncomfortable… He hesitated for a moment, then sighed and looked at the secretary. “Fine, I’ll get my makeup done. But while I’m getting ready, no one is allowed around. Also, if I’m going on stage, I want to wear a mask.”
If he couldn’t escape this, he’d at least minimize the damage. It was just women’s clothing. If he wore a mask, he could always deny it was him later.
“That’s not a problem. I’ll arrange it!” Before the secretary could respond, Tang Xin readily agreed. As she walked alongside Xu Tian and the secretary to the top-floor rehearsal hall, she called her professional styling team from the Imperial Capital.
In less than 30 minutes, her team arrived. Makeup artists, costume designers, assistants, and even photographers—more than twenty people in total.
The secretary couldn’t help but roll his eyes. Just for makeup? Anyone who saw this scene would think it was a wedding.
Even Xu Tian didn’t expect Tang Xin to go this far. She had even prepared several costumes for him to choose from.
“Whatever, I don’t care,” Xu Tian said as he walked into the dressing room they had just cleared out for him.
Soon, Tang Xin picked out a dazzling white gown adorned with diamonds for him.
Sitting in the makeup chair, Xu Tian felt a sense of despair the moment he saw that gown. “Can we… pick another one?”
Tang Xin smiled, revealing two small sharp canine teeth. “I guarantee this one suits you perfectly!”
Xu Tian: “…”
A male makeup artist, clearly handpicked by Tang Xin, looked at the dress with admiration and said, “Miss Tang has great taste. This one really does suit him.”
Xu Tian: “…” Fine!
Two against one—he had no say. Even if she agreed to switch, there was no chance of changing it into a male costume. At that point, what difference would it make?
In the end, upholding the spirit of a man who follows through on his word no matter what, Xu Tian shut his mouth.
The makeup artist smiled, then clipped Xu Tian’s fringe behind his ear. Looking at Xu Tian’s perfect hairline, refined features, and jade-like skin, he sighed, “So beautiful.”
Xu Tian: “…” He swore—never in both his lives had he been so speechless.
The makeup artist didn’t care that Xu Tian’s expression darkened further and said with a smile, “Handsome, this hairstyle really doesn’t suit you. It hides all your best features. Let me restyle it for you.”
For the next hour or so, Xu Tian resigned himself to the makeup artist’s hands.
After half an hour, the final look was complete. The makeup artist stepped back and froze—stunned for the first time in his career.
“Too beautiful!” he exclaimed. His eyes sparkled with amazement as he looked at Xu Tian’s face. As someone selected by Tang Xin, he had seen all kinds of people. He’d worked on countless celebrities, but even Liu Yifei, the most gorgeous star in the entertainment world, would pale in comparison to Xu Tian in this moment.
“Is it done?” Xu Tian asked when he noticed the artist staring at him without making another move.
“Yes, yes!” the makeup artist replied quickly. He glanced at the black mask beside him and sincerely said, “Handsome, how about not wearing the mask? It would be a waste to cover this face.”
Xu Tian looked at himself in the mirror. Although he didn’t want to admit it… he really did look amazing.
In fact, he wondered if he could make a living off his looks now.
But wearing women’s clothing was already humiliating enough—using it to deceive people would be crossing a line.
“Wear it.”
He didn’t hesitate at all when telling the makeup artist.
The makeup artist sighed with regret. From his tone, he knew persuasion would be useless. He finally helped Xu Tian put on the mask as requested.
“What a shame…” he muttered as the black metal mask covered the most stunning parts of Xu Tian’s face.
Knock knock!
Someone knocked on the dressing room door. Tang Xin’s voice came from outside. “Is it done?”
“All done!” the makeup artist replied as he opened the previously locked door.
Everyone outside saw Xu Tian standing behind him.
Hiss—
Even though the mask hid most of his face, the lower half that remained was enough to astonish everyone present.
