The Beautiful CEO Only Loves Me - Chapter 58:
Chapter 58: Change of Style
As he spoke, Yun Shuo’s father immediately took out his phone and called his secretary.
Yun Shuo’s mother, on the other hand, gratefully held Xu Tian’s hand. “You’re Shuo Shuo’s friend, right? It’s all thanks to you guiding him. If anything had really happened to our Shuo Shuo, our family would’ve fallen apart.”
“Auntie, I’m Xu Tian, Yun Shuo’s friend. You don’t need to worry. I’ll stay with him more these next few days so he doesn’t overthink.”
“Our Shuo Shuo is lucky to have a friend like you. I’ll leave him to you, then. Come visit our house when you’re free. I’ll make you a few of my best dishes.”
She was genuinely grateful. With Xu Rixin betraying Yun Shuo and stealing his fiancée, and Xu Tian supporting him when he was at his lowest, the contrast was too obvious.
“Mom, it really was thanks to Xu Tian this time. If he hadn’t pulled me back in time, I might’ve…” Yun Shuo sighed. “But now I’ve figured it out. Instead of feeling sorry for myself over a woman who never cared about me, I’d rather focus on my work and make An Xingyue regret her choice.”
“Shuo, I’m glad you’ve figured it out so quickly.” Father Yun was clearly relieved. “Don’t worry about the engagement. I’ll personally take care of it.”
They didn’t leave until they watched Yun Shuo walk into the exam room and waited for the results, confirming there were no issues.
Before leaving, Yun Shuo’s mother still looked uneasy. “Shuo Shuo, why don’t you come stay home for a few days?”
“No need. I plan to have Xu Tian stay with me for a while.”
“That’s fine too. You young people talk more easily. Xu Tian, I’ll leave Shuo Shuo to you.”
After Yun Shuo’s mother was reluctantly pulled away by Father Yun, the two young men also left the hospital.
Yun Shuo exhaled deeply. “Xu Tian, I never realized you had such talent for acting.”
Xu Tian smiled lightly and tossed him the car keys. “Let’s go.”
“Go where?” Yun Shuo asked, confused.
“Step two of the plan—give you a makeover.”
“Makeover?” Yun Shuo looked down at his suit and tie. “Isn’t this formal enough?”
“It’s formal. Too formal,” Xu Tian said, shaking his head.
Yun Shuo had pale skin, good looks, and a strong build, but because he thought girls preferred mature men, he dressed in a stiff, old-fashioned way. In his early twenties, he was full of youthful energy, yet he made himself look wooden and dull just to get An Xingyue’s attention.
Xu Tian still remembered in his past life, Yun Shuo had once worn a golden side-parted wavy hairstyle with a pure white casual outfit for a stage performance. His clean, youthful aura caused a sensation at the event. Fans got so excited, there was nearly a riot.
Right now, Yun Shuo was even younger than he had been then. That same hairstyle and outfit would make him even more striking. People were visual creatures. Xu Tian didn’t believe that even An Xingyue could resist that kind of look.
He took Yun Shuo to a mall and selected several casual-style stores, asking the staff to help put together some outfits—every set in pure white.
Yun Shuo’s fair skin had no visible flaws. Dressed in a white casual outfit, he stood in front of the mirror looking entirely different, fresh and radiant.
“Won’t this seem too flashy if I show up at the company like this?” Yun Shuo was clearly not used to it, having always worn plain black suits.
“No. Trust me, if I post your current photo in the company group chat, you’ll have a dozen fangirls in no time.”
“…Better not.”
Xu Tian chuckled, then suddenly said, “Speaking of employees, do you know HR Manager Rong Yan likes you?”
Yun Shuo was stunned. “Where’d you hear that?”
“You can just feel it.”
After a moment’s silence, Yun Shuo nodded. “Yeah, I admit she seems to have feelings for me. She even confessed to me back in college. But I only liked An Xingyue at the time, so I rejected her and told her not to contact me again.”
“I actually think Rong Yan’s a good person. You have her number, right? Call her and ask her out for dinner,” Xu Tian said.
In his past life, Xu Tian hadn’t spent much time at Xu Group, so he hadn’t noticed Rong Yan’s feelings. But he had heard something major—four years after Yun Shuo and An Xingyue got married, Yun Shuo suddenly died. Soon after, Rong Yan ran over An Xingyue with her car. It made the local news.
She did it because she found out An Xingyue had caused Yun Shuo’s death and wanted revenge.
Now, based on what Yun Shuo said, it seemed Rong Yan had liked him for four or five years. Even after being rejected, she had joined Xu Group after college just to see him more often.
“She is nice,” Yun Shuo said. “But I’m not in the mood for romance right now, and I don’t like her that way.”
He had just come out of a relationship and couldn’t accept the idea of calling someone else right away. That would make him a total jerk.
“I’m only asking you to treat her to dinner. I didn’t say you had to propose,” Xu Tian said with a smile. “Besides, this is a chance for both of you. Back then, you rejected her because your heart was with An Xingyue, and you didn’t really know Rong Yan. Now that you’ve broken up, maybe you should look around you.”
“What if you find out she’s actually the perfect match for you? Wouldn’t you regret missing that opportunity?”
“And don’t forget, you want to make An Xingyue regret her decision, right? Finding true love soon after your breakup is a powerful form of payback.”
“I don’t want to use my feelings to get back at her,” Yun Shuo said, still shaking his head.
“I’m not asking you to use anyone. I’m saying you should give Rong Yan a chance. If after getting to know her, you still feel nothing, just be honest. Stay friends.”
“She’s got a good background, good looks, and her personality’s solid. I’m sure you two have more in common than that vain An Xingyue who only cares about shopping and beauty treatments. Why not give it a try?”
Xu Tian didn’t want another tragedy between Yun Shuo and the girl who had once been willing to die for him.
“Fine, but I’m only asking her to dinner—as a friend.” Yun Shuo deliberately stressed the word “friend,” then pulled out his phone and sent Rong Yan a message.
