Chapter 133: Shocked the Whole Audience, Nine Stars Shone Brightly!

The night passed quietly. Under Xu Ze’s instructions, what had happened at the Holy Fire Palace the previous night was completely covered up.

The assessment of the Holy Land continued vigorously. At the Nine Star Palace, it was time for the swordsmanship test.

In the testing field, Bai Wangchuan stood confidently, holding a mysterious sword. He danced gracefully at the center, mysterious energy surging around him, sword Qi slicing horizontally and vertically, each movement elegant and powerful.

Countless sword energies swirled around Bai Wangchuan. With every swing, he swiftly struck the surrounding wooden stakes.

The junior disciples around him gasped in amazement, while several young girls cheered with sparkling eyes.

“Senior Brother Bai is so handsome!”

“This set of Nine Star Swordsmanship is the most difficult set of mysterious arts in our Nine Star Palace. I can’t believe Senior Brother Bai performs it so effortlessly.”

“Senior Brother Bai’s sword intent has reached the third level—how terrifying!”

“With swordsmanship like a mountain, Senior Brother Bai truly deserves to be the chief of the Nine Star Palace.”

Listening to the praise around him, Bai Wangchuan grew even prouder. His sword movements became even more fluid.

He completed the set of Nine Star Swordsmanship and, after neatly sheathing his sword, bowed to Elder Yaoguang seated at the examiner’s stand, “Master, I have finished.”

“Good, good,” Elder Yaoguang smiled, stroking his beard, nodding with satisfaction. Seeing his direct disciple perform so well brought him great joy.

With Bai Wangchuan participating in this Holy Land assessment, the Nine Star Palace would not be disgraced.

The deacon disciples, understanding the mood, immediately gave Bai Wangchuan an A grade.

Bai Wangchuan smiled proudly and walked off the test platform with an air of superiority, enjoying the admiring gazes.

At this moment, Zhang Heng stepped toward the testing platform.

He looked calm, but as he passed Bai Wangchuan, his resentful gaze lingered on him. Bai Wangchuan, however, didn’t even spare him a glance.

“Haha, Zhang Heng’s sword skills are the worst. This will be entertaining.”

“That useless guy. Senior Brother Bai always takes care of him, yet he keeps disappointing. I’ve been sick of him for a long time.”

Several of Bai Wangchuan’s lackeys mocked Zhang Heng, eagerly showing their loyalty.

Bai Wangchuan, putting on a magnanimous air, waved his hand and said with a smile, “Come on, we’re all senior brothers. We see each other all the time; there’s no need to hurt our relationship over such trivial matters.”

“As expected of Senior Brother Bai, such a gentleman.”

“Repaying evil with kindness, Senior Brother Bai is truly noble.”

The flatterers poured on the praise. Bai Wangchuan, although enjoying it inwardly, maintained his gracious facade.

Suddenly, a chorus of gasps burst from the disciples behind them.

Bai Wangchuan and the others turned around, startled.

On the testing platform, Zhang Heng was executing the Nine Star Swordsmanship with fluid mastery. With each move, faint star patterns appeared, shimmering in the air.

The Nine Star Swordsmanship contained nine core sword techniques. As Zhang Heng finished the final move, the tip of his sword flicked lightly, and behind him, a dazzling nine-star pattern formed.

“This… is this Nine Star Glory? The pinnacle of Nine Star Swordsmanship?”

“Impossible! I heard even Elder Yaoguang spent a hundred years cultivating to reach that state!”

Nine stars gleamed behind Zhang Heng.

This meant Zhang Heng’s skill level was no longer comparable to ordinary disciples. It was likely that this year’s Holy Land assessment would be completely shaken because of him.

Bai Wangchuan and the others were dumbfounded.

Even Elder Yaoguang sat frozen, unable to react for a long time.

Nine stars shining brightly—within Elder Yaoguang’s memory, no disciple of the Nine Star Palace had achieved this in three hundred years.

The last person to do so had been Elder Yaoguang himself!

Back then, with the Nine Star Glory, he had become invincible in swordsmanship. Only the Holy Lord could rival him.

And now, after three centuries, Nine Star Glory had reappeared among the disciples of the Nine Star Palace!

The legacy of the Nine Star Palace was reborn.

Zhang Heng stepped back, cupped his fists, and bowed respectfully to Elder Yaoguang, “Elder, the disciple has finished the demonstration.”

Elder Yaoguang finally snapped out of his daze, his face lighting up with excitement as he looked at Zhang Heng, “Excellent! Perfect! It couldn’t have been better!”

“Your name is Zhang Heng, correct?” Elder Yaoguang asked, his eyes burning with enthusiasm.

Zhang Heng cupped his fists again, expressionless, “Yes.”

“Good, good. I didn’t expect that our Nine Star Palace would produce such a genius!” Elder Yaoguang was overjoyed, his face flushed with excitement. “After this assessment, I will personally instruct you! Only I am qualified to train a genius like you!”

As soon as Elder Yaoguang’s words fell, everyone was stunned. Bai Wangchuan looked even more bewildered.

Everyone knew that Elder Yaoguang, as the master of the Nine Star Palace, rarely trained disciples personally. One of the reasons Bai Wangchuan was accepted as his disciple was because of his talent. But the more important reason was that Bai Wangchuan’s father shared a long-standing friendship with Elder Yaoguang.

Because of that relationship, Bai Wangchuan had been accepted and nurtured personally by Elder Yaoguang.

And now, Zhang Heng had earned Elder Yaoguang’s promise of “personal cultivation” solely based on his ability!

There was no need to elaborate on what that meant.

Even if Zhang Heng wasn’t officially named his personal disciple, from Elder Yaoguang’s excitement, it was clear that Zhang Heng’s future status would not be lower than Bai Wangchuan’s.

At that moment, everyone was left speechless, turning their attention toward Bai Wangchuan.

Even the lackeys around Bai Wangchuan fell silent, their expressions changing as they seemed to weigh the situation carefully, wondering if it might be time to reconsider who they should follow to benefit themselves the most.

Zhang Heng smiled faintly, his lips curling upward. He turned to look at Bai Wangchuan with a clear, provocative gaze.

Bai Wangchuan’s heart burned with anger. His eyes grew colder and colder. “This bastard…” he thought. “How dare he be so arrogant…”

The assessment concluded.

Five disciples were promoted to the Nine Star Palace.

Seeing his name on the list, Zhang Heng gave a cold smile, turned around, and walked through the crowd.

But just then, Bai Wangchuan and his group of lackeys blocked Zhang Heng’s path.

“Junior Brother Zhang, I didn’t expect you to hide your true strength so well,” Bai Wangchuan said, folding his hands behind his back with a mocking smile. “You’ve hidden your sword skills quite deeply.”

He smirked and continued, “Passing the second round of the assessment by luck is your good fortune.”

Zhang Heng glanced at him but said nothing.

Bai Wangchuan leaned closer and whispered into Zhang Heng’s ear, “I don’t know how you managed to master the Nine Star Sword overnight, but let me give you a piece of advice—those who understand the situation are wise.”

“In the upcoming competition, if you and I meet…” Bai Wangchuan’s voice turned sinister, “I hope you’ll be sensible. Otherwise, you might find yourself unable to step down from the stage!”

Having dropped his threat, Bai Wangchuan turned and walked away with his followers.

Watching Bai Wangchuan’s figure retreat into the distance, Zhang Heng remained silent.

But deep in his eyes, a chilling killing intent flickered.
