The Villain Who Slapped the Heroines Until They Begged to Marry Him - Chapter 22:
Chapter 22: This Genius Doctor is a Bit Creepy:
Yang Lu left the car after saying his words to the driver.
In his memory, the driver had always been loyal, but his wife had been unfaithful to him, and he wouldn’t discover it until much later.
Yang Lu thought, “This is as far as I can help you.”
The driver, confused by his master’s words, didn’t think much of it. He was happy to head home early.
By the lake in the park, a young girl, around 18 or 19, with a youthful face and a ponytail, was walking arm-in-arm with an elderly man with white hair. “Grandpa, your health isn’t good. We should go back,” she said.
The girl was Zhang Xuehua, a member of the Zhang family, a well-known and respected family in Dragon City. Her grandfather, the elderly man beside her, was the key reason for the family’s influence—his former students held high-ranking positions all over the city.
However, Zhang Xuehua’s grandfather suffered a serious injury from a battle with an old enemy in his younger years. Even worse, that enemy had managed to escape, though recently, rumors had surfaced that he had returned to Dragon City. If Zhang Xuehua ever found him, she swore she wouldn’t let him go unpunished.
In response, her grandfather smiled and replied, “I know my body better than anyone else. It’s too late for hope now, so I might as well do what I want.”
Zhang Xuehua’s eyes filled with tears. “Grandpa, don’t say that! You’ll live to be a hundred—a thousand years old!”
While hiding in the trees nearby, Yang Lu watched the scene and immediately understood what was happening.
“It’s no surprise that Ye Fan has come to the park for them.”
In the original plot, Ye Fan had encountered Zhang Xuehua and her grandfather when they were in danger. He had stepped in to save them, which led to him being invited to their home. At the family banquet, he showed off his medical skills, earning their trust. From then on, the Zhang family became one of his biggest supporters, helping him rise from an unknown doctor looking for his fiancée to a famous and beloved physician.
Zhang Xuehua even became part of his harem later on, though her plot didn’t end well. Yang Lu glanced at the bushes opposite him, where Ye Fan, the second protagonist, was hiding, ogling Zhang Xuehua with a creepy grin on his face.
It was clear now—those “chance encounters” in the novel weren’t coincidences at all. They were all part of Ye Fan’s plan. It was disheartening to see how manipulated the plot had been, ruining the image of the novel in Yang Lu’s mind.
“This woman is gorgeous,” Ye Fan muttered to himself, his eyes locked on Zhang Xuehua. He licked his lips, imagining winning her heart. She was the most beautiful woman he had seen since coming down from the mountains, full of youth and energy.
With his skills as a genius doctor, he could tell she was untouched by any man. Earlier, he had noticed a few thugs following them. Now that the park was nearly empty, they were sure to make their move.
Once the thugs attacked, he would swoop in, save the day, and play the hero. Zhang Xuehua would be so grateful she’d fall for him instantly. Judging by her looks and the aura she carried, her family must be powerful. Winning her over would be a huge boost for his career as well. This was the perfect opportunity—two goals achieved with one move!
Ye Fan’s excitement grew as he imagined the outcome. He didn’t notice Yang Lu rolling his eyes from the other side of the bushes. “Isn’t this guy supposed to be looking for his fiancée?” Yang Lu thought.
Seeing Ye Fan act so sleazy, it was hard to connect this with the genius doctor he had read about in the novels.
Suddenly, a loud shout echoed through the park. “Zhang Feng! We meet again!” An old man and a dozen rough-looking men appeared in front of Zhang Xuehua and her grandfather.
Zhang Feng’s expression darkened. He recognized the voice—it was Lei Bi, the man who had severely injured him years ago. So, he really had returned.
Zhang Xuehua’s face also paled. They only had a few bodyguards with them, and they were no match for Lei Bi and his gang.
“Lei Bi, you dare show your face here again?” Zhang Feng roared.
“Why wouldn’t I? Today, I’ll finish what I started and kill you!” Lei Bi sneered. “This is the moment I’ve been waiting for!”
