The Villain Who Slapped the Heroines Until They Begged to Marry Him - Chapter 33:
Chapter 33: That Damn Feeling Is Back Again:
“Sir, there’s a young man outside who wishes to see you.”
“Wants to see me? Who is he?”
As Mr. Zhu held the microphone, happily thanking the guests who had come to the celebration, a servant hurried in from outside, his face noticeably swollen—he must have been roughed up a bit just moments ago.
“He’s finally here, huh? This should be interesting.”
Yang Lu’s face showed a smile. While the others had no clue who the visitor was, he knew exactly what was coming. According to the novel’s plot, this was none other than Ye Fan, the miracle doctor.
Ye Fan’s master had once saved Mr. Zhu’s life, and in gratitude, Mr. Zhu had promised his daughter’s hand in marriage to the master’s disciple. Ye Fan’s master had eagerly agreed, and Mr. Zhu had his reasons for making such an arrangement. After all, Ye Fan’s master was the legendary Medicine Valley Doctor. Marrying his daughter to such a disciple would mean protection for the Zhu family, which would be hugely beneficial.
Of course, following the classic plotline, Ye Fan wasn’t about to have an easy time. First, Zhu Zhimin would reject him, and her other suitors would scorn him. But then, at a crucial moment, her chronic illness would flare up, and Ye Fan, the miracle doctor, would save her, earning her heart in the process.
“Typical plot, I could write a novel myself with how predictable this is.” Yang Lu thought, rolling his eyes.
“He didn’t say, but he called himself your son-in-law!”
“What?! Could it be… Quickly, let him in!”
Mr. Zhu’s expression shifted from shock to delight. He had a strong feeling it was the disciple he’d been waiting for.
“Dad, what’s going on?”
“You’ll see in a moment. It’s a long story.”
Zhu Zhimin was confused. What did he mean, ‘son-in-law’? She was still single!
The men pursuing Zhu Zhimin were equally baffled. They had all come here with hopes of winning her over, and now suddenly a fiancé appeared out of nowhere. What was going on? None of them had heard a word about this before.
“I’ve been friends with Xiaomin for years, and I never knew she had a fiancé!”
Lin Xiaohan, standing nearby, looked puzzled. She was Zhu Zhimin’s best friend, but she had never heard a word about any engagement. What was going on?
Yang Lu overheard her and replied casually, “Maybe he’s just some scammer pretending to be a miracle doctor.”
“Huh? Did he even mention being a doctor?”
“Cough, just watch and see.”
Lin Xiaohan shot him a curious glance. The servant hadn’t mentioned the visitor’s occupation, so how did Yang Lu know? Did he have some sort of sixth sense?
As Yang Lu covered for his slip-up, the crowd saw a young man stride confidently into the hall. It was Ye Fan, and he was exuding pride with every step.
“Mr. Zhu, greetings. I am Ye Fan, the disciple of the former Medicine Valley Doctor, Duan Lang.”
He felt the eyes of everyone on him and, instead of feeling uncomfortable, he reveled in the attention.
“Maybe I’m just destined to be different from ordinary people.” He thought, approaching Mr. Zhu with a polite smile. His real attention, however, was on Zhu Zhimin. She was beautiful, with a figure and face that had him thanking his master for setting him up with such a wonderful match.
“Master, when you’re old, I’ll make sure to find some beauties to take care of you.” He thought with a grin, pulling out the jade pendant his master had given him. The pendant would serve as proof of his identity.
“Yes, that’s the pendant! You truly are his disciple. Wonderful, my son-in-law!”
“Daughter, let me introduce you to someone. This is Ye Fan, the disciple of our family’s great benefactor, Duan Lang, and your fiancé. We arranged this a long time ago!”
After examining the jade pendant, Mr. Zhu’s delight was evident. He motioned for Zhu Zhimin to come over. To him, they made a perfect match—he was already thrilled with the thought.
“What?!”
Standing beside her father, Zhu Zhimin was stunned. She recalled her father mentioning an arranged marriage from her childhood, but she’d never taken it seriously, thinking he was just joking.
Seeing Ye Fan now, she felt like her mind was spinning. She was being asked to marry a complete stranger. Who could accept such a thing so suddenly? The men who had come to pursue her shared her surprise, and some looked visibly annoyed.
“So, Zhu Zhimin, you…”
Ye Fan smiled, assuming it was his most charming expression.
“I must have completely enchanted her. Who wouldn’t be thrilled to marry such an amazing man? Fate is a wonderful thing.” He thought.
But then, he spotted Yang Lu standing nearby, and his confidence faltered. He felt a wave of unease wash over him.
Why was that guy here?
His pulse quickened, and his legs began to tremble. Yang Lu was like a nightmare he thought he’d escaped, only for it to reappear now.
“Calm down. I can’t fall apart now.” He told himself, fighting to stay composed.
“System, activate Kneeling Skill! Let’s make this scene more interesting.” Yang Lu thought with a mischievous smile, nodding subtly at Ye Fan. Now that he had Ye Fan’s attention, it was time to spice things up. This plot was just too bland—it needed a twist to keep things lively.
Just then, Ye Fan’s legs gave out beneath him. He felt utterly defeated, and a wave of helplessness washed over him.
“It’s over. That damn feeling is back again!”
