Chapter 51: The Early Appearance of Bai Luobing:

Chen Lang was lost in thought, staring blankly at the road, when a pair of elegant high heels suddenly appeared before him.

His gaze moved slowly upward, taking in the delicate ankles, fair and slender legs, and an expensive dress.

The woman standing in front of him had delicate features, with eyebrows as perfect as a painting.

In terms of beauty, she was on par with Xiao Mingyue.

However, if Xiao Mingyue was known for her grace and dignity, this woman exuded a delicate charm with a hint of mischief.

The earrings dangling from her pale earlobes accentuated her aura, making her seem distant and unapproachable. A group of bodyguards in suits followed her, hinting at her extraordinary status.

With a mischievous glint in her eye, the woman addressed Chen Lang, “Isn’t today supposed to be your happy wedding day, Young Master Chen? So why are you drinking alone out here?”

Chen Lang squinted at her, unimpressed. “Who are you?”

The woman extended her hand with a confident smile. “Nice to meet you. My name is Bai Luobing, a member of the Bai family from Nanjiang, and a competitor to Xiao Mingyue.”

Bai Luobing’s introduction was frank and self-assured, but Chen Lang wasn’t interested.

He merely scratched his head, frustrated.

Another heroine had appeared!

Bai Luobing wasn’t a simple character; she was cunning and full of schemes. She wasn’t supposed to appear until much later in the plot, where she would cause the protagonist Ye Chen considerable trouble as the villain.

But why was she showing up now, before her time?

Bai Luobing wasn’t offended by Chen Lang’s lack of interest.

Retracting her hand, she sarcastically remarked: “It’s quite laughable to see the only son of the powerful Chen family from the capital end up as a son-in-law to the Xiao family.”

She continued, her tone mocking, “You’re reduced to this, locking yourself up after marrying a woman like that? How pitiful, Young Master Chen!”

Chen Lang’s temper flared. He glared at her. “Did I do something to provoke you?”

Bai Luobing pouted, her anger barely contained.

Didn’t provoke her?

The grudge between them was deep, though Chen Lang didn’t realize it. She had meticulously planned to sabotage Xiao Mingyue’s company by bribing her cousin, setting up a scheme so well that even Xiao Mingyue wouldn’t have noticed.

But then Chen Lang had casually written about her plan in his diary, and Xiao Mingyue had caught the traitor, ruining Bai Luobing’s scheme.

The resentment she felt was enormous.

Still, Bai Luobing knew she couldn’t reveal the diary’s secrets, so she merely glared at Chen Lang.

Frustrated, Chen Lang snapped: “Get out of my sight, or I’ll make you regret it!”

He was seething inside, his frustration with these characters who kept derailing his plans boiling over.

If it weren’t for their meddling, his schemes wouldn’t have collapsed so disastrously.

With the combat skills he had now, thanks to the Chi You Battle Classics and Chi You Battle Body, even his father’s top bodyguards wouldn’t stand a chance against him.

As for Ye Chen, the so-called protagonist?

He could crush him with just a finger.

Bai Luobing remained unfazed. “Xiao Mingyue doesn’t deserve you. If you want a divorce, I can help you,” she offered.

Chen Lang, losing patience, barked, “I said, get lost!”

Bai Luobing took a few steps away, then turned back and poked his cheek with a soft finger. “There’s no use pretending to be tough,” she said with a roll of her eyes. “You’ve got lipstick on your face. Wipe it off.”

She left, flanked by her bodyguards, and got into her car. Chen Lang, bewildered, pulled out his phone and opened the front camera.

Sure enough, there was a bright lipstick mark on his face, likely left by Xiao Mingyue when she kissed him on stage.

He rubbed his face with beer from his glass, wiping it away carelessly.

Chen Lang then opened his villain diary system, ready to jot down some thoughts.

But as his fingers hovered over the keys, he found himself conflicted, unsure of what to write.

[Sigh, I don’t feel like writing anymore. It’s as if my villainous career is coming to an end.]

[How did the villain end up marrying the heroine? Isn’t that just absurd?]

[Where did it all go wrong?]

[Calm down. Take it slow.]

[The original plot had Bai Luobing scheming behind the scenes, falsifying a threat from the Chen family to the Xiao family, forcing them to agree to Xiao Mingyue and Chen Lang’s marriage.]

[Then, Ye Chen was supposed to arrive at the wedding, bathed in holy light, and take Xiao Mingyue away.]

[The whole point of that plot was to drive a wedge between Xiao Mingyue and her family, making her feel isolated and unloved. Then Ye Chen would swoop in, offering her warmth and love, and she’d fall madly in love with him.]

[It was all supposed to make sense! So why is everything going off the rails?

Let’s break it down. Ye Chen, the protagonist, is fine. He’s behaving exactly as he should, according to the script!]

[Xiao Mingyue! The problem is with Xiao Mingyue!]

[What on earth happened to her today? Did she take the wrong medicine? All this gaming and] video nonsense is ruining the character!]

[And now, the villain really did marry the heroine? This is all Xiao Mingyue’s fault!

[I was a proud lone wolf on the grasslands, but now I’m trapped in this marriage…]

(In a private dining room)

The atmosphere between the Chen and Xiao families was warm and cordial. Mother Chen inquired about Xiao Mingyue’s relationship with Chen Lang, while Father Chen asked about her company’s progress. Xiao Mingyue answered their questions with grace and poise, leaving a strong impression on both parents. They found her character and abilities to be exceptional. Mother Chen, especially, grew more and more fond of her new daughter-in-law as the meal went on.

Midway through dinner, Xiao Mingyue checked her phone and noticed that Chen Lang’s diary had been updated.
