Chapter 93: Ye Chen Was Fired:

In the principal’s office, the moment the call from Chen Lang came through, the principal answered cheerfully, “Hello? What can I do for you, Young Master Chen?”

But instead of Chen Lang’s voice, he heard a conversation in the background.

“You’re just a security guard. What right do you have…?”

“If I don’t lift the gate, no one gets in…”

“This school gate belongs to me—Ye Chen!”

The principal’s expression changed instantly. He shot up from his seat.

That voice… wasn’t it the same idiotic security guard who had cut the power during the bonfire party, causing the entire venue to lose lighting?

He had planned to fire that guy back then, but preparations for the centenary celebration had kept him so busy he’d forgotten.

And now he finds out that the same security guard had clashed with Chen Lang at the campus gate?

Damn it!

The principal stormed out of his office, knocking on the doors of several adjacent offices—Security Department, Human Resources, and more.

Something big had happened. They had to act immediately.

At the school gate, Chen Lang’s sports car was still blocked by Ye Chen.

Their loud voices had drawn the attention of passing students, who stopped at a distance to watch the drama unfold.

Ye Chen stood righteously in front of the car. “You’re an unauthorized vehicle from outside. For the safety of NTU’s students, I won’t allow you in!”

With Ye Chen standing guard here, Chen Lang could dream about picking up Tang Xiaofu!

Didn’t Chen Lang know this gate belonged to Ye Chen?

Chen Lang turned his head and said calmly, “My sister goes to school here. I’m technically a family member. That means I’m allowed to enter, right?”

Ye Chen burst out laughing. That tone—it sounded like Chen Lang was trying to soften his stance. It felt amazing!

He became even more arrogant. “Family? Heh. Even if you’re family, you’re not getting in unless I nod!”

Chen Lang sneered. “Cut it out, Ye Chen. You’re clearly targeting me. These cheap tricks are pathetic.”

Ye Chen thought Chen Lang was starting to get angry.

Good. Get angry. Hit me!

So he provoked him further.

“I’m not targeting you! I’m targeting everyone!”

“No one gets in without my permission! Even family members—if I say they need to give me money or buy me cigarettes, then that’s what they need to do!”

“If I’m not happy, no one gets through this gate!”

Meanwhile, in the administrative office, the HR secretary was quickly filling out paperwork.

Around the principal, the school leaders who had overheard Ye Chen’s rant through the call were dumbfounded.

When did NTU have such a bold character?

Who was this lunatic claiming to control the school gate? Wasn’t he openly humiliating the school’s leadership?

Then Ye Chen’s voice came through the phone again, loud and threatening.

Back at the gate, Ye Chen noticed the crowd of students growing and realized he might’ve said too much.

He barked, “I’m warning all of you—if anyone dares repeat what I said today…!”

“Don’t even think about using this gate again! Who agrees with me? Who dares oppose me?”

The students quickly avoided eye contact.

They were just regular students. If this nutcase from the guard booth decided to mess with them later, it’d be a nightmare.

Ye Chen seemed satisfied with their reaction.

He felt like he was becoming smarter—more thoughtful in how he handled things.

Back in the office, Ye Chen’s voice continued to blast through the phone.

The principal and all the department heads were now furious.

How had such a thug been allowed to operate unchecked under their management?

The HR secretary picked up the printed document and said, “It’s ready, Principal.”

The principal waved his hand firmly.

“Let’s go!”

A group of NTU’s top leaders jogged toward the school gate.

The school’s security guard had gotten into a dispute with Young Master Chen?

That was a joke.

Forget the 100 million Chen Lang had just donated—just the name ‘Chen family’ was reason enough to show respect.

Back at the gate—

Chen Lang said, “Ye Chen, why are you threatening the students over our personal issue? Also, just curious—do you know how powerful your principal is?”

Ye Chen sensed something was off.

Why didn’t Chen Lang look angry?

This wasn’t right. He had to keep pushing.

“Principal? Let me tell you—at this gate, I am the law! You’re not getting in today!”

Chen Lang raised a brow. “What if I insist?”

Ye Chen pretended to think. “Then get out of your car and bow to me! Say, ‘Brother Ye, I was wrong. I won’t go against Brother Ye again.’ Then, maybe—I’ll let you in.”

At that moment, Chen Lang saw a large group of school leaders running toward them.

He leaned against the car door and asked with interest, “You really won’t let me in? You do know I’m friends with your principal, right?”

Ye Chen rolled his eyes. “Friend? Even if the principal’s father shows up, if I’m not happy, he isn’t getting in either!”

Suddenly, a loud roar came from behind.

“You’re full of crap!!”

Startled, Ye Chen spun around.

It was the principal.

Behind him stood an entire team of school leaders.

Ye Chen’s expression instantly changed. He forced a flattering smile and quickly trotted over.

“Ah, Principal! I was just doing my duty, checking all vehicles at the gate—rest assured, sir!”

The principal’s round glasses were practically steaming with rage.

Doing your duty? You were humiliating my benefactor!

“Rest assured? I’d be more at ease without you around! Sign this!”

He slammed a document into Ye Chen’s face.

Ye Chen caught it and looked down.

“A resignation notice?!”

Was he… being fired?

His name, details, and even the school seal were all already filled in.

They’d come fully prepared. All that was missing was his signature.

Ye Chen was stunned.

“Why?!” he asked, dumbfounded.

Right after the words left Ye Chen’s mouth, the same voice echoed from the principal’s phone:

“Why is this?”

Ye Chen froze. His eyes shifted from the principal’s phone to Chen Lang—then, it finally clicked.

He exploded on the spot.

“Chen Lang! You set me up! You sneak! You underhanded villain!”

But that furious shout echoed from the principal’s phone once again, loud and clear.

Chen Lang smiled calmly and ended the call. He leaned back in his seat, clearly enjoying the show.

All the school leaders gathered around, glaring furiously at Ye Chen.

By now, more and more students had gathered nearby, watching the drama unfold.

Ye Chen stared at the resignation notice with a dark expression. Suddenly, he changed his demeanor.

Holding the document, he sneered, “Since things have come to this, let’s stop pretending.”

“You think you can fire me just like that?”

“Even if you heard what I said—do you have proof?”

“If you fire me without evidence, I’ll sue! Got it?”

His arrogant tone made the principal clench his fists so tightly that he looked like he was ready to pick up a brick and smash Ye Chen right then and there.

Ye Chen, however, grew more confident.

He glanced around at the crowd. “Don’t think these people heard anything. They didn’t hear a word, right?!”

He turned to the students with a threatening voice.

In the tense silence that followed…

Suddenly, from Chen Lang’s sports car, Ye Chen’s earlier arrogant remarks played loudly:

“The gate of this school is my Ye Chen’s territory…”

“If I don’t lift the pole, no one gets in…”

“Principal? Even if the principal’s father came today—if I’m not happy, he’s not getting in either!”

There was even his threat toward the students:

“Anyone who dares to repeat what I said today won’t be allowed to pass through this gate again!”

Ye Chen: “???”

In the sports car, Chen Lang raised his phone with a smile. “Sorry, I recorded everything.”

Ye Chen’s face turned red.

“Chen Lang, you—! You dirty—!”

Chen Lang interrupted, “Ahem. Still recording, by the way. Every word you say now can be used in court!”

Ye Chen choked on his words. He could only glare at Chen Lang, humiliated and furious.

Chen Lang chuckled, “I bet once this recording hits the internet, you’ll be more famous than me. What a headline—‘The Most Arrogant Security Guard in History!’”

Ye Chen: “…”

Chen Lang had long expected the protagonist to show off and act arrogant. That’s why he recorded it in advance.

What else could Ye Chen do now?

He stared at the termination letter, lines of frustration forming on his face, and reluctantly prepared to sign it.

All of his plans were ruined.

He came to NTU to chase Tang Xiaofu, but in the end, he didn’t even win over a single female student. He really had just been guarding the gate the whole time!

Ye Chen was unwilling to accept this, but there was nothing left to say.

The principal personally walked over to the guard booth with the remote and lifted the barrier for Chen Lang.

Then he leaned beside Chen Lang’s car window and said politely, rubbing his hands, “We clearly have loopholes in our school’s management. I’m so sorry you had to experience this, Young Master Chen…”

Chen Lang waved casually. “No need to apologize. He and I are old enemies.”

The principal nodded quickly. “Chen Shao, leave this to us. We’ll keep an eye on him and make sure he packs up and leaves immediately.”

Chen Lang started the engine and drove into the school.

Though a bit of time had been wasted, the result was worth it—Ye Chen was finally kicked out of NTU. Not a bad outcome. Tang Xiaofu was probably getting anxious waiting for him.

Just then, the principal came running after his car, waving frantically for him to stop.

Chen Lang pulled over, confused.

He looked ahead and saw a speed bump. The principal crouched down beside the car and carefully measured the gap between the car’s chassis and the ground.

Then he ran to the speed bump to measure its height.

His expression turned serious—clearly, the speed bump was higher than the car’s clearance. If Chen Lang drove over it, the chassis would get stuck.

The principal glanced around quickly, then darted toward the grass nearby, where he pulled out two long wooden boards.

Everything happened so fast, it left everyone stunned.

In just moments, the principal had placed the boards over the speed bump, then stood in front of the car and signaled like a valet:

“Go ahead! Gas! Good! Keep going!”

The sports car passed over the speed bump smoothly and entered the campus.

The principal stood behind the car, still smiling as it drove away.

The crowd of students watching from the side were dumbfounded.

Was this really their serious, strict principal?

Did he always have this… bootlicking side?

Was this the true power of money?
