Chapter 94: Su Hao’s Death:

Su Hao was an old fox in the business world—how could he not understand Lu Yu’s true intentions? That so-called investment was nothing more than a leash. Accepting Lu Yu’s money meant accepting surveillance, and the so-called partnership was just a polite way to say “control.” If he agreed, he’d forever be a puppet under Lu Yu’s thumb.

“Mr. Su, don’t say it so harshly,” Lu Yu chuckled, his expression casual. “This isn’t about control—it’s support. I’m just helping you shorten the time it takes to build your empire. Of course, if you can sell me some ‘special’ information, I’ll split the profits with you fifty-fifty. But you must leave Rongcheng.”

He leaned back. “So? Have a think about it.”

Then he said nothing more.

Letting a reborn business mogul work for him? That was the dream. Lu Yu might have always known protagonists and villains couldn’t coexist—but in this moment, even he was tempted by the idea.

Su Hao remained silent for a long time, clearly weighing his options. Then he took a slow breath.

“Alright. I’ll think about it. I’ll give you my answer in three days.”

“Take your time, Mr. Su,” Lu Yu said with a smile and a wave. “No rush.”

In truth, Lu Yu hadn’t planned on killing Su Hao. Not at first. He’d already learned his lesson from the Chen Bansheng situation—murder was messy. And in Su Hao’s case, it wasn’t personal.

Unlike Chen Bansheng, who had directly challenged Lu Yu and manipulated feng shui to sabotage him, Su Hao had done no such thing. In fact, Lu Yu was the one who slept with his wife.

So unless Su Hao became a real threat, there was no need for bloodshed.

But…

“What a shame. I didn’t even get a chance to use those photos.”

Lu Yu muttered to himself as he watched Su Hao walk away.

He had originally taken some compromising photos of Shen Weiwei, intending to provoke Su Hao and farm some life-change points. But before he could act, Shen Weiwei had already ended up in his car—throwing the entire storyline into chaos.

And Su Hao? He’d come straight to Lu Yu’s doorstep—unexpectedly bold.

Lu Yu had thought the man would hide, endure humiliation, and wait for the right time to strike back.

Clearly, he was wrong.

“Hmph… quite the direct type, aren’t you?”

Lu Yu picked up the walkie-talkie nearby.

“Yang Jian.”

“Young Master Lu, I’m here.”

“Follow that man. If he tries to leave Rongcheng without notifying me, find an opportunity to take him out. Make it clean.”

“Yes.”

As Yang Jian left, a cold glint flashed in Lu Yu’s eyes.

Killing someone was indeed troublesome. But if the protagonist refused to submit—then Lu Yu wasn’t afraid to stain his hands.

After all, villains like him had to be decisive.

That very night, Su Hao packed a bag, hired a car, and prepared to leave Rongcheng.

“Me? Be your puppet? In your dreams.”

He muttered to himself while staring at the deserted streets.

Why did he run?

The answer was simple.

He was once a tycoon, powerful beyond imagination. Now reborn, destined to rise again—and Lu Yu, just some arrogant rich kid, wanted to make him a subordinate?

Impossible.

Besides, the person who had stolen everything from him—Shen Weiwei, her family, even his adopted daughter—was now loyal to Lu Yu.

He had no home left. No reason to stay. But he also didn’t have the courage to die.

So, he chose escape. A quiet departure. A new beginning elsewhere.

But he underestimated just how determined Lu Yu was to kill him.

In any era, tracking someone 24/7 is difficult. People aren’t machines. They sleep, blink, miss things. To monitor someone constantly, you need at least four people, working in shifts.

But Lu Yu wasn’t short on money.

With money, anything was possible—including hiring six bodyguards to monitor Su Hao in three teams.

So when Su Hao loaded his bags into a car and looked like he was preparing to disappear, they immediately reported to Lu Yu.

Lu Yu didn’t waste a second. He called Yang Jian directly.

Trying to avoid detection, Su Hao hadn’t used his own car, nor booked a ticket for any trains or flights. Instead, he took a taxi, changing vehicles multiple times to cover his tracks.

But what he didn’t know… was that one of those cars had a hidden tracker installed by Yang Jian.

Several of the vehicles were arranged in advance by Lu Yu’s team. With enough money, even a taxi driver could be a spy for a day.

So every step Su Hao took… was being watched.

After two days of travel, Su Hao finally reached another major city. He checked into a place called the Lijing Hotel.

That night—his third night—he returned to his room as usual. The moment he walked in, he was ambushed and knocked unconscious.

To avoid making a scene, Yang Jian sedated him first. Then, pretending to be a concerned friend, he called over the hotel security.

“Hey, buddy, help me out. My friend passed out—I need to get him to a hospital.”

In today’s world, hotel safety protocols were strict. But no one suspected a thing.

The hotel staff even helped them check out.

“An orphan, divorced, no close ties… if he vanishes, who’s going to ask questions?”

Back in Rongcheng, Lu Yu lay on his couch, staring up at the ceiling.

“The Great Heaven Essence Technique really is something…”

In Su Hao’s plotline, his divorce marked the collapse of his main character arc. From that point forward, fate no longer favored him.

That night, Su Hao was quietly killed.

Yang Jian slit his throat and buried him in a remote mountain area, in a pit he had prepared in advance.

And just like that, a man who was destined to become a future business legend…

…died in a foreign land.

[Ding! Congratulations on eliminating the protagonist ‘Su Hao.’ Life change points +3000. Shadow Master Card 1 obtained.]

What a waste. Should have “interrogated” him to get all his future knowledge then take him out.
