Villain: You Want Me to Follow the Plot and Die? I’m Done Pretending - Chapter 29:
Chapter 29: You and I Are Not from the Same World:
The sword in Gu Feng’s hand had only ever cut through beasts, but today, it finally tasted human blood.
Wen Lingruan’s chest burned as her blood dried on the wound. Her eyes were wide in disbelief, her body pinned to the ground, lifeless. Blood gushed from her mouth in a steady stream.
“You… you…” she muttered weakly.
“Ah! Sister, sister!” Wen Lingyun rushed to her fallen sister, but it was too late. Wen Lingruan was already beyond saving.
She had only reached the Foundation Establishment Realm, far from the strength needed to survive such a blow. There was no escaping death for her.
Wen Lingyun desperately tried to channel spiritual Qi into her sister’s body, but all it did was prolong her agony.
“Run… run… fast…” Wen Lingruan coughed, spitting out blood with each word.
“Don’t speak, sister, please don’t.” Wen Lingyun cried, attempting to wipe away the blood. But it was useless.
The next moment, Gu Feng pulled his sword from Wen Lingruan’s chest, leaving a gaping hole. Wen Lingyun could even see the stones behind her sister’s back through the wound.
“Sister!” Wen Lingyun screamed, staring at her sister’s lifeless body. Her once-beautiful eyes were now hollow. Death had stripped away her beauty, leaving only an empty shell.
Wen Lingyun turned her head, her face contorted with rage, but before she could even express her hatred, Gu Feng’s sword was already at her throat.
“You’ve gone too far, Gu Feng!” Ye Fan, who had been standing by, could no longer bear it. He raised what was left of his sword, slashing his palm and smearing the blood on the blade. The broken sword glowed with flames, and the fire formed a new blade.
For a moment, Ye Fan’s fighting spirit surged. He charged forward, aiming the fiery sword at Gu Feng’s face.
Gu Feng didn’t move, simply watching him with a cold sneer.
“You’re too slow,” he said, his voice filled with disdain. “And if you’re going to fight, at least know what you’re fighting for.”
With that, Gu Feng caught the flaming sword with his bare hand.
Ye Fan was stunned, unable to process the raw strength he was up against. The sword was pulled from his grip as if it were a toy.
Meanwhile, Gu Feng’s own sword moved, slashing Wen Lingyun over and over again. If one looked closely, each cut matched the wounds on Bai Yuxiao’s body exactly. Finally, the sword pierced her lower back, driving straight through her body.
“You were born on the same day; now you die on the same day.” Gu Feng said coldly, tossing the flaming sword at Ye Fan’s feet like garbage.
“Ye Fan, don’t you think I’ve been merciful?” Gu Feng’s cold gaze sent a shiver down Ye Fan’s spine.
This was the real Gu Feng? Ruthless, vengeful, repaying every slight a hundredfold.
The sound of the sword clattering to the ground echoed like a sad song. Ye Fan trembled, swallowing hard before speaking, his voice dry and hoarse.
“Gu Feng… can you tell me what the difference is between us?”
The campfire crackled quietly beside them. A gust of wind rustled Gu Feng’s cloak, which swished around his ankles. Looking down on Ye Fan with both pity and scorn, Gu Feng spoke: “Ye Fan, you and I… we were never from the same world.”
With those words, Gu Feng left, leaving behind two corpses and a shattered man.
The system in Gu Feng’s mind chimed in happily: [Host, you’re incredible! The heavens didn’t detect anything, and your luck just skyrocketed by 700 points, 500 more than Bai Yuxiao’s!]
“Enough of that,” Gu Feng responded, annoyed by the system’s excitement. “Luck points mean nothing to me. I plan to tear my way through this novel. Just make sure to warn me when the heavens are about to notice.”
He found the system’s enthusiasm rather silly.
Meanwhile, outside the forest, Xiao Liu, the wolf demon, was nervously keeping watch. Guard duty was an important job, after all.
“Xiao Liu, let’s go.” Gu Feng called, snapping his fingers.
Little Six immediately ran toward him, her wolf ears bouncing with each step. She looked just like the puppies Gu Feng used to raise back in the modern world.
“He’s gone…” a faint voice murmured. It was Qian Rou, who had appeared beside Ye Fan at some point.
“Yeah.” Ye Fan responded weakly, collapsing onto the ground in defeat.
Seeing Ye Fan in such a pitiful state, Qian Rou felt a surge of unease. When that man—Gu Feng—had appeared, she was utterly terrified. Deep down, she knew that if she had faced him, she would have been better off dead.
So, she stayed hidden, too afraid to show herself.
“The bodies will attract beasts if they stay here,” she warned him, trying to distract him. If Ye Fan’s mind wasn’t occupied, he might fall into despair, and once the heart demon took root, it would make future tribulations much harder to overcome.
Ye Fan nodded numbly, then rose to his feet. He handed the Mysterious Dark Mushroom to Qian Rou, and with a flick of his wrist, set the Wen sisters’ bodies on fire.
The next day, the secret realm was shrouded in mist. Even though the sun had risen, its light did nothing but make the fog brighter and more blinding.
Bai Yuxiao yawned and stretched after packing up his tent, only to meet Xiao Liu’s gloomy gaze.
“What’s wrong with Xiao Liu? Looks like she didn’t sleep well at all.” Bai Yuxiao wondered.
