Chapter 58: Jiang Yang’s Fury, Blood on His Hands!

Jiang Yang and Mo Cinian chatted for a while longer, mostly about the case. Although Mo Cinian was full of suspicious points and seemed far from simple, they couldn’t do anything to him. In fact… their police department was even preparing to award him a medal for bravery! It was absurd. But only Jiang Yang knew—Mo Cinian was definitely not as pure and kind as he appeared. He was undoubtedly an evil man, drenched in sin and rotten to the core, merely wearing a polished human mask.

“By the way, Boss Mo, I have one more question,” Jiang Yang said.

“Go ahead,” Mo Cinian picked up the teacup on the table, took a sip, and looked calm and composed.

“Don’t you feel any psychological pressure after killing someone?” Jiang Yang asked. “Or… have you killed before?”

“Nope, just doing my part to rid evil for the people. Why would there be psychological pressure?” Mo Cinian smiled casually.

His words left Jiang Yang speechless.

…

Chen Jiu came to bail him out. Ever since Mo Cinian was taken in, Chen Jiu rushed over immediately. As the loyal dog beside the villain, he was always diligent and dependable. Mo Cinian had killed someone, and things could get very complicated. But his background was too powerful to ignore. Even though Mo Cinian was on the blacklist, he was crucial—after all, Longguo’s military industry had secret collaborations with Mo Zhanhong, involving billions of yuan.

After all… their country had once been dirt poor. Now, quietly making a fortune through win-win cooperation was the way to go.

Jiang Yang watched Mo Cinian swagger out of the interrogation room, his gaze dark, lost in thought. Just as Mo Cinian reached the door, he suddenly paused, turned back, and smiled at Jiang Yang.

“Oh right, Officer Jiang, when I was driving this afternoon, I was forced to run a lot of red lights. It wasn’t intentional. Could you waive the tickets for me?”

Jiang Yang looked at Mo Cinian’s mischievous smile. His grip on the thermos tightened, veins bulging on the back of his hand.

“It can be waived!”

“Thanks!” Mo Cinian said, then walked off without looking back.

“Crack—crack—”

A sickening crunch echoed. Jiang Yang’s steel thermos was crushed out of shape in his hand. Steel thermoses were usually very sturdy, but now it looked like it was made of paper. His expression grew increasingly cold, and faint grinding sounds came from his clenched teeth.

“Don’t let me catch you!”

“BOOM!!!” As soon as he finished, the thermos exploded. The inner coating was glass, and almost instantly, Jiang Yang’s palm was left bloody and mangled. Yet he didn’t react until someone passed by the door, at which point he suddenly seemed to feel the pain.

“Damn! Where’s the doctor? My hand’s bleeding, hurry up and get a doctor!”

“Hello? Is this 120? We’re from 110 here, someone’s bleeding! No, it’s not a terrorist attack!!! Just an injury~~”

[Ding! Child of Destiny ‘Jiang Yang’ has generated collapse emotions. Host has gained 100 collapse points.]

…

Just outside the station, Chen Jiu had been waiting with the car for a long time—a black Maybach.

“Young Master, it’s my negligence,” Chen Jiu said apologetically as he opened the door for Mo Cinian.

“It’s fine. There’s so much to handle at the company, you’ve got your hands full,” Mo Cinian replied. As the right-hand man with 100% loyalty, Chen Jiu managed all the company’s affairs, while Mo Cinian enjoyed being a hands-off boss.

After all, he had been given a second chance at life; he wasn’t about to waste it working himself to death. Eating, drinking, playing, and occasionally training a Child of Destiny… wasn’t that the good life?

“Drive. Let’s head back to the hotel.”

Chen Jiu, of course, knew which hotel Mo Cinian meant. There was only one five-star hotel in all of City A—and it belonged to his young master.

“Young Master, your car has been sent back to Italy for factory repairs. It should be back within three days.”

“Oh.”

Factory repairs were just fine. He was planning to try out a shared bicycle for the next few days anyway. He was genuinely curious—how had Ye Chen managed to get a shared bike to reach 80 kilometers per hour? That kind of terrifying speed probably exceeded human limits.

…

After returning to the hotel.

As expected, Duan Weiwei was still there. She hadn’t left the hotel for almost two days. Food and drinks were delivered to her room.

Right now, the girl was sitting cross-legged in front of a huge glass wall. In this hotel, the surrounding walls were made entirely of glass, and outside was like a massive ecological aquarium, with colorful sea fish swimming around. There were even small sharks.

Duan Weiwei tilted her head, watching the fish swim by, her face occasionally lighting up with a smile. She was so absorbed that she didn’t even notice when a man came up behind her.

She was wearing a light yellow camisole nightgown, her fair, delicate feet bare, dressed casually and exuding pure charm—the very epitome of innocence and allure.

“Nice view?” Mo Cinian’s voice sounded softly behind her.

“Ah!!!” she shrieked, startled, banging her head against the glass in her panic.

But when she saw it was Mo Cinian, her eyes immediately lit up with excitement.

“Mo… Brother Mo?”

The excited girl scrambled up from the floor. After Mo Cinian left, she hadn’t dared to leave the hotel. For nearly two days, she had stayed holed up inside. Even if she wanted to leave, she couldn’t—her clothes had been torn to shreds, and she was like a pitiful little thing trapped in the hotel.
