What Do You Mean I’m Supposed to Be the Villain, But Everyone’s Chasing After Me? - Chapter 18:
Chapter 18: Come Here, Apply Medicine for Me!
Li Changju circulated the Immortal Heavenly Demon Scripture, the surging vitality in his dantian boiling like a tide.
The Demon God’s blood within his body flowed with a crisp, spring-like sound.
His expression shifted slightly as he saw a layer of bloody mist rise from the Demon blood, tempering his flesh, bones, and muscles while washing away impurities, making his body even stronger.
But around that Demon blood, another airflow coiled tightly like a rope, restricting it from flowing freely through his body. That airflow contained immense power, guiding his strength toward one peculiar place—his qi sea.
When his power reached its peak, he felt his strength fuse into the qi sea, becoming part of it, turning into a new source of energy.
“Buzz…” His qi sea trembled violently and began expanding frantically.
“Bang!” A muffled sound rang out. His qi sea swelled to its limit and suddenly burst open with a loud explosion.
“Just a little more!” Li Changju opened his eyes, full of frustration. His qi sea had expanded more than twofold, but he still lacked the final step to break through to the Hundred Convergence Realm.
Breathing heavily, sweat dripping down his forehead, he sat and adjusted his breath for a long time before muttering firmly, “I still need to keep pushing forward.” His fists clenched, his eyes unwavering.
He lifted his head—and suddenly his vision went black.
…
When he woke, Li Changju found himself tightly bound.
“Mmph… mmph…” His mouth was sealed by a curse, making him unable to speak.
“Don’t waste your strength!” A woman’s cold voice rang out.
She was clad in plain white clothes, her appearance strikingly beautiful, with a lotus-shaped mark imprinted on her forehead, making her look holy and flawless.
She looked at the snowy mountain scenery outside and said with a playful tone, “The snowy mountain looks so beautiful, I wanted to compose a poem for the world, but since I lack culture, all I could say was—damn, the snow’s so heavy!”
“Not a bad poem,” she praised herself with a faint smile, but then her lips curved into a grin, revealing two sharp, tiger-like fangs. Her dignified beauty instantly gained a trace of wicked allure.
“Mmph…” Li Changju’s eyes widened, full of questions.
The woman ignored his expression. Turning her back to him, she slid her plain robe off, revealing a slim, snow-white back. A terrifying wound marred it—flesh and blood torn, skin turned outward, sparks of lightning flickering as if something corrosive had burned into it.
“Come here, apply medicine for me!” She tossed a porcelain bottle at Li Changju.
He frowned as he caught it.
“Unwilling?” Her willow-like brows knitted, and a frigid, oppressive aura burst out from her body.
Li Changju shivered inside.
This woman was definitely ruthless!
Not daring to hesitate, he opened the bottle, poured out a green pill, crushed it into powder, and sprinkled it over the wound. Then he dipped his fingers into the ointment and carefully smeared it across the torn flesh.
“Hiss!” She inhaled sharply, her delicate face twisting slightly in pain, but she clenched her teeth without a sound, gripping the bed sheets tightly.
Soon, the bruises and torn flesh began to heal. Within moments, the wound on her back had closed completely, leaving only a faint pink scar.
Such powerful medicine!
Li Changju was secretly shocked. Fine arcs of lightning still danced across the faint scar, making it look strangely alluring. He found himself staring a little too long, almost entranced.
But suddenly, the woman turned her head sharply, her dark eyes locking on him. His heart skipped, and he quickly looked down, pretending he hadn’t seen a thing.
Her aura weakened, her face pale as paper, her power clearly diminished. After a long silence, she said softly, “You must draw the Nine Heavens Divine Thunder out of my body.”
Li Changju stiffened. (O_O;) Absorb it? How?
“I’ll pass you the Thunder Guiding Art. Just follow my lead. Don’t worry, I won’t let you die. In fact, the Nine Heavens Divine Thunder is an extraordinary treasure—you’re the one benefitting from this!”
Seeing him hesitate, she frowned. “You don’t want to?”
Li Changju hurriedly shook his head, then nodded. Could he even refuse? With her strength, one glance from her could kill him.
“Then I’ll take that as your agreement,” she said with a faint laugh. “Relax your mind.”
Li Changju obeyed, closing his eyes and clearing his thoughts. In an instant, a stream of knowledge appeared in his mind—the Thunder Guiding Art, a technique to command lightning. Mastery of it could summon heavenly punishment to annihilate enemies.
“Buzz!”
A dazzling blue light bloomed from her palm like a star. A bolt of lightning condensed from nothingness and, under her guidance, poured into Li Changju’s body.
Instantly, his body tingled, his bones and flesh filled with boundless energy. This energy did not scatter but circulated along a special path, guided by her. Once, twice, thrice…
“BOOM!”
A thunderous sound erupted inside him. A vast qi sea rose up, stretching across his inner world.
“Bang!”
That newly formed sea erupted with blinding lightning, crackling loudly.
The woman coughed blood, her face pale, her aura fading. Yet she still smiled and said with relief, “I’ve suppressed that thunder. As your cultivation grows, it will grow stronger alongside you.”
Li Changju’s eyes widened. He could sense it—within his qi sea, a terrifying thunder force was brewing.
“No need to thank me,” she said calmly. “Take it as repayment for saving my life.”
She then sat cross-legged, swallowed several pills, and began to heal. Li Changju stood silently nearby, watching over her. Since he had received her aid, protecting her was only right. Besides, he had already begun forming guesses about her identity.
Half an hour later, her aura stabilized somewhat. Though still pale, she looked much better than before. Seeing that he hadn’t taken advantage of her weakness, her impression of him improved.
“Thank you, boy,” she said softly. “You must be Su Qingjue’s disciple, right? What’s your name?”
“I am Li Changju,” he replied, his speech restored after the curse on his mouth dissolved. “Outside, they’re searching for you. Fairy, are you… from the Demon Clan?”
The woman froze slightly, surprised that he had already guessed her identity.
With a sly smile, her eyes glimmered as she said, “That’s right, I am Xue Fulan, Master of the Demon Abyss.”
Li Changju: (?o?)
Xue Fulan? What a car… Wait—Xue Fulan?! Wasn’t she supposed to be his future main wife?
