Chapter 11: Nineteenth Floor of the Demon Suppression Tower, The Woman in the Crystal Coffin!

In an instant, icy gales roared out like a flood, as though countless sealed blades had suddenly been unleashed, rushing out violently.

After a long while, the chilling wind finally calmed. Gu Han opened his eyes and looked down at the entrance beneath him.

In his view appeared a staircase made of countless ancient bronze steps, extending deep into the abyss, vanishing beyond sight. The moment he stepped onto the stairway, it was as if he triggered a special restriction. Clusters of warm red flames ignited atop the bronze lotus lamps, dispelling much of the darkness and illuminating the path forward.

However, the staircase was so deep that he still couldn’t make out what lay in the depths. Moreover, due to some unique law in this area, Gu Han couldn’t fly downward using spiritual energy. He had no choice but to descend step by step.

The surroundings were pitch black and deathly silent. The overwhelming stillness gave Gu Han an intense, suffocating sense of unease. He had no idea how long he had been walking—he forgot time, he forgot fatigue. Only when he finally reached the bottom of the tower did he come back to his senses.

The temperature at the bottom of the Demon Suppression Tower was extremely low. The moment he stepped into this area, an icy chill instantly engulfed his body, piercing straight into his bones and soul.

Everything was so quiet that only his breathing could be heard. It was pitch black—he couldn’t even see his own fingers, and spiritual sense couldn’t be used to probe his surroundings. Gu Han could only press his hand against the wall and fumble his way forward.

Though the environment was strange, he didn’t detect any real danger, which eased his nerves somewhat thanks to his sharp senses.

He didn’t know how long he had walked in the darkness purely by instinct. Just when he was on the verge of losing composure, a faint light suddenly appeared at the edge of his vision.

The abrupt change was like a glimpse of sunlight in the depths of an abyss. Even knowing it might be dangerous, Gu Han couldn’t help but be drawn toward it.

He pushed forward, enduring the long and arduous journey until he was finally within 100 meters of that faint glow.

But when Gu Han saw what it actually was, his whole body froze for a moment.

This wasn’t an entrance to another world—it was clearly a crystal coffin buried deep in the abyss, emitting a blazing white light!

…

The crystal coffin’s material was unknown, but it radiated a brilliant multicolored glow like a fallen sun. Only after his eyes adjusted to the brightness did Gu Han begin to clearly observe the surroundings.

Countless chains condensed from laws and Dao patterns bound the entire crystal coffin and suspended it slightly off the ground.

Beneath the coffin was a hole roughly 3 meters in diameter. Gu Han merely glanced at it, and his pupils instantly contracted.

Inside, illuminated faintly by the coffin’s glow, were countless skeletons—piled into small mountains, one after another.

He even spotted something resembling a dragon skull among the bones. That chicken-shaped head… could it be a phoenix from legend?

The hairs on Gu Han’s body stood on end. He didn’t know who the person in this coffin was, but even dragon and phoenix remains were being suppressed beneath it.

After confirming there was no movement from the coffin, Gu Han lowered his guard slightly and cautiously stepped closer.

But when he looked through the transparent crystal coffin and saw what was inside, he was momentarily stunned.

He had expected someone to be in it, but what he saw completely exceeded his expectations.

Inside lay a stunningly beautiful and cold woman—so beautiful that words failed to describe her.

She lay quietly in the coffin as if asleep, a gentle smile at the corners of her lips. Her long silver-white hair spread behind her waist like flowing frost, glowing with divine brilliance.

Her face was exquisitely crafted, breathtakingly enchanting, and yet ethereal beyond words. What was more surprising was the pair of snow-white fox ears on her head.

Nine tails—whiter than snow and soft as velvet—spread out like a blooming lotus, wrapping her within.

Combined with her skin, which was even more delicate and white than mutton-fat jade, she seemed like the very embodiment of purity—so beautiful it was soul-shaking, unforgettable.

However, after a brief moment of awe, Gu Han quickly regained his composure.

No matter how beautiful she looked, she had been lying in the coffin for who knew how many years. She was obviously a corpse now. He had no perverse interests.

Still, this was the first reward he was going to sign in for. He had to at least try opening the coffin and check whether there were any burial goods or items inside.

As soon as the thought came, he acted.

Gu Han drew a dagger he carried and tried prying open the crystal coffin.

But the moment the dagger neared, it seemed to touch some kind of protective restriction. The dagger violently trembled, flew from his hand, and shot back uncontrollably.

Although Gu Han reacted quickly and barely dodged, the sharp blade still left a cut on the back of his hand.

Blood instantly gushed from the wound, dripping onto the crystal coffin and splashing like blooming blood-red flowers.

By coincidence, one droplet slipped through a crevice and landed directly on the fox woman’s lips.

While Gu Han was busy treating his wound and not paying attention to the coffin, something changed.

The woman’s long eyelashes inside the crystal coffin trembled slightly.

Then, the eyes that had supposedly remained shut for countless years slowly opened!

Those were eyes like violet glass gemstones—mysterious, radiant, and dangerously enchanting, like a kingdom in the eternal night.

Crack!

At that moment, the chains made of laws that had bound her lost their divine essence and began to disintegrate and vanish.

The sudden change shocked Gu Han. He instinctively looked down—and froze in place.

He stood motionless, eyes locked on the pair of newly opened eyes inside the coffin. His whole body was as still as stone.

He had checked multiple times—there wasn’t a trace of life on the fox woman.

So how had she just opened her eyes?

While Gu Han stared blankly at her, the woman’s blood-red eyes—like twin red moons—also quietly gazed at him.

After a long pause, she blinked softly, her eyes curving into a sweet crescent moon shape. She opened her arms and said, “Wonderful… in this life, you’re still here…”

Crack!

The crystal coffin shattered on cue.

Gu Han, who had been standing atop it, was caught off guard and fell straight down—landing perfectly into the fox woman’s embrace.

A strangely familiar scent entered his nose at that moment.

And then, memories surged forth like a tide…
