When You Finally Turn Around After Playing Enough, I’ll No Longer Be There - Chapter 15:
Chapter 15: Admitting She’s Not Sick
“Why did you say Chen Luo is also your patient?”
“Chen Luo also has depression?”
“Yes,” Dr. Ge nodded with a serious expression, “but… not ‘also.'”
Dr. Ge walked to the front of the classroom and pulled out a medical record from the folder he carried.
“This is Chen Luo’s case file.”
“I’m sorry to inform you all that Chen Luo has been diagnosed with severe depression. He may need to take a break from school for some time.”
The classroom instantly erupted in noise.
Before anyone had time to react, Dr. Ge turned to look at Jiang Kewei, “Teacher Xia cares a lot about her students’ health. My visit was approved by her. She even contacted your parents, and they both agreed to let me examine you.”
A specialist from the provincial hospital offering a free check-up for their daughter—sick or not, what parent would refuse?
With that, Jiang Kewei had no choice but to agree.
All eyes turned to her, waiting for her response.
“No need to check. I…”
Jiang Kewei dug her nails hard into her palm. Those few words seemed to drain all her strength.
“I’m not sick.”
Admitting she had lied with her own mouth, Jiang Kewei couldn’t face her classmates anymore. Ashamed and humiliated, she lowered her head and ran out of the room.
Song Qingyu immediately stood up and followed, “Pretending to be sick was my idea. I was also the one who told Kewei to reject Chen Luo’s confession. I thought someone like Chen Luo, who’s rich, could never truly stay devoted to one girl his whole life. So I told Kewei to string him along.” After speaking, she left too.
Song Qingyu was a cunning girl.
Over the past nine years, she had reaped many benefits by sticking close to Chen Luo and Jiang Kewei. Her reason for encouraging Kewei to keep accepting gifts from Chen Luo wasn’t just to test him—it was also because she wanted her share of the benefits.
Now that Jiang Kewei seemed to have realized the truth, what if she turned against her and exposed everything she had done?
Rather than risk that, it was better to admit it herself.
After everyone involved had left and the classroom had quieted down, the students began whispering among themselves.
Jiang Kewei’s depression was fake.
Chen Luo’s depression was real.
“So that’s why Chen Luo was absent right at the start of the semester—because of depression.”
“People who really suffer from depression are pitiful. Chen Luo’s going through a lot.”
“He probably got depressed after his confession was rejected… He really loved Jiang Kewei.”
Not long after, Su Panyue posted an update too.
Her QQ account had just been created.
Because of that, she gave off even more of a pure and untouched vibe.
Her post had only one simple sentence:
“I’ll wait for you to come out of it.”
The post was short but said so much.
So Chen Luo had never truly gotten over the heartbreak!
He didn’t fall for someone else after all. If he had, he wouldn’t have ended up with depression.
It was Su Panyue who had feelings for Chen Luo. She had pursued him herself. She chose to quietly stay by his side and help heal the damage Jiang Kewei had done.
After everything blew up, Teacher Xia also found out.
Due to the overwhelming requests from the class, she checked Chen Luo’s Moments.
At first, Xia Qing was skeptical. She didn’t support high schoolers dating and didn’t think two teenagers could have any deep connection.
Probably just childish and silly, like playing house.
But after reading all of Chen Luo’s posts, Xia Qing was silent.
That night, she didn’t even grade her lesson plans.
Instead, she stared at the full moon in the sky with a sorrowful expression, blaming herself for not being born ten years earlier.
If only she had been born ten years later—then Jiang Kewei and Su Panyue wouldn’t have stood a chance.
