Chapter 11: Xu Linxiu: No One Stop Me!

“Huan Xisha has scheduled another match with Qin Feng. It’s set for tomorrow at midday.” As Xu Linxiu spoke, he glanced at Song Wanci and noticed her face still void of emotion, leaving him a little disheartened.

However, Song Wanci seemed to sense Xu Linxiu’s mood. She turned her head to glance at him, her lips moving slightly.

“Then… how about we go watch the fight together tomorrow? Wait, no—you don’t seem to like crowded places.” Xu Linxiu answered his own question and pulled over a chair to sit.

“But it’d be a shame to miss it. How about this? I’ll take you somewhere quiet with a great view, and we’ll watch Qin Feng get completely crushed by Huan Xisha!” As he said this, he reached out toward a bowl of sunflower seeds on the table.

Song Wanci looked at his hand. Xu Linxiu awkwardly pulled it back with an embarrassed expression.

Seeing this, Song Wanci grabbed a handful of sunflower seeds and placed them into Xu Linxiu’s hand, then softly said, “Eat…”

Xu Linxiu snapped his head up, staring at her in surprise. He was so stunned he forgot to eat the seeds. He never expected someone with autism like Song Wanci to actually speak to him, and that caught him completely off guard.

But he didn’t say much—he just felt his mood inexplicably lifted.

Song Wanci simply watched Xu Linxiu’s joyful expression in silence.

“You must be wondering why I said Qin Feng’s going to get beaten up by Huan Xisha, right?” Xu Linxiu continued while cracking a seed.

Song Wanci rested her soft, porcelain-like face in her hands, her bright peach blossom eyes locked on Xu Linxiu.

“Because… there’s a powerful soul inside Qin Feng. The reason he could overpower Huan Xisha before was because of that soul possessing him.” Xu Linxiu focused on the seed in front of him, struggling with both hands just to crack it.

Yeah… this guy didn’t know how to crack sunflower seeds.

While listening, Song Wanci silently pushed a pile of already-cracked seeds toward him.

Xu Linxiu paused for a moment, then grinned, “Hehe, saves me the trouble. You’re seriously fast at cracking these.”

Then, without hesitation, he stuffed the entire pile of seeds into his mouth.

“And right now, only you and I know about the soul inside him. To make sure tomorrow’s match is fair, I asked my dad to invite the Sect Master to watch,” Xu Linxiu said, brushing off the seed shells from his hands.

“If that soul dares to possess Qin Feng again tomorrow, the Sect Master will definitely notice.”

Song Wanci nodded slightly to show she was listening, her slender, pale fingers continuing to crack more seeds and push them in front of Xu Linxiu.

Xu Linxiu scratched his head, starting to feel a little awkward.

“Oh, right.” Xu Linxiu thought of something, picked up a seed and tossed it into his mouth to savor.

“That day… was it you who blocked the Third Elder’s sword?” he asked the question he’d been holding back all along.

Song Wanci’s hands froze. She slowly set down the uncracked seed and raised her head. Her peach blossom eyes met Xu Linxiu’s curious gaze.

After a few seconds, she lowered her head again and went back to cracking seeds.

Xu Linxiu opened his mouth but didn’t say anything. Just from that brief eye contact, he already knew—his guess was right.

He picked up another seed and chewed it slowly, his face filled with curiosity as he watched her.

This girl… just who exactly is she?

[You’re seriously letting Song Wanci crack seeds for you to eat? Host, your shamelessness rivals the spiritual energy defense of a Great Emperor.]

Xu Linxiu froze, his hand still in mid-air. He pouted helplessly, wanting to argue back, but had nothing to say.

After all, the system had a point.

Noticing Xu Linxiu had stopped eating, Song Wanci also paused.

“Ahem…” Xu Linxiu lightly cleared his throat with his hand over his mouth and awkwardly said, “Wanci, why don’t you eat some too?”

As he spoke, he pushed the cracked seeds back toward her.

Song Wanci rested her cheek on one hand, pouting slightly, but when she realized Xu Linxiu was watching her, she quickly straightened her expression.

Then she picked up a seed and popped it into Xu Linxiu’s mouth.

Xu Linxiu: !

Aren’t you supposed to be autistic?!

A faint blush crept onto Xu Linxiu’s face. As a grown man, he actually felt a little shy.

“Ahem… I’ll head back to my cave residence first. I’ll come get you tomorrow so we can go watch Huan Xisha and Qin Feng’s match together.” With that, Xu Linxiu turned around and slipped out of Song Wanci’s cave residence without looking back.

Song Wanci didn’t move. She just quietly looked at the remaining pile of sunflower seeds on the table. For some reason, a hint of blush appeared on her pale cheeks.

…

…

The next morning, Xu Linxiu showed up outside Song Wanci’s cave residence with a meat bun in his mouth.

Song Wanci opened the door, her peach blossom eyes still hazy from sleep. She gave Xu Linxiu a sleepy glare.

Xu Linxiu awkwardly stepped back a few steps, scratching his head. “You’re wondering why I came so early, right? Ahem, well… nothing going on, so I thought I’d just come over.”

As he spoke, his storage ring flashed and he took out a steaming hot bun.

“Here, breakfast!” Xu Linxiu handed it to her. She paused briefly, then reached out and took it.

Then Xu Linxiu, acting completely at ease, walked straight into her cave residence and pulled over a chair to sit.

Song Wanci closed the door and turned to see him already seated, but said nothing.

They both sat down and quietly finished breakfast.

Then, with a magician-like flourish, Xu Linxiu pulled out two bottles of hot soy milk and slid one across to her.

“Drink some soy milk too, or you’ll choke,” Xu Linxiu said with a grin.

Song Wanci didn’t reply. She picked up the bottle and sipped slowly.

As for Xu Linxiu, he downed his in one go.

After eating, there were still two hours left until midday. Xu Linxiu sat on the chair with one leg crossed over the other, a piece of foxtail grass dangling from his mouth, looking extremely bored.

“I’m so bored… Wanci, what do you usually do when you’re home alone?”

He turned the chair’s backrest to face forward and rocked on it like he was riding a horse.

Song Wanci turned to glance at him, then looked at the rocking chair.

Bang!

The chair tipped too far and Xu Linxiu toppled straight to the floor.

Song Wanci’s lips instinctively curled up into a smile.

Xu Linxiu got up and happened to catch that fleeting expression on her face. He froze for a second.

Then, in a voice full of mock despair, he cried out, “You didn’t even check if I was okay—and you’re laughing?! No one stop me! I’m going to jump off the Disciplinary Cliff!”
