You Choose an Adopted Son, I Choose Madness - Chapter 123:
Chapter 123: Su Chen Is Scared to Death
The moment Su Zhenxing heard Su Chen’s agonized scream, his face darkened. He immediately regretted his decision. He had been so focused on making sure Su Chen didn’t cause trouble that he hadn’t considered that trouble might come looking for Su Chen instead.
He had no idea what kind of situation Su Chen had gotten himself into that would make him scream like that. But he swore, the moment he found out who had dared to harm Su Chen, he would never let them off.
The screams had come from the direction of the Fang family’s swimming pool.
Without bothering to set down his wine glass or explain to his business associates, he rushed toward the pool.
The other guests at the banquet were momentarily stunned before they, too, sprinted after him.
Each person’s eyes gleamed with curiosity, like a pack of wolves smelling blood. From afar, they looked like a bunch of moving light bulbs, causing the Fang family’s servants to press themselves tightly against the walls in fear of getting in the way.
Run! Run!
Something exciting is happening!
Everyone had long heard about Fang Qin’s habit of bullying poor students.
They never thought they would have the chance to witness it firsthand!
Especially those who had business conflicts with the Fang family—they ran even faster than the others, eager to see the Fang family make a fool of themselves.
Soon, Su Zhenxing arrived at the swimming pool.
But the scene before him left him stunned.
The scenario he had imagined—Su Chen getting beaten up and humiliated—was nowhere to be seen.
Yes, Fang Qin and her three friends were surrounding Su Chen, each holding a bottle of alcohol.
At first glance, it was clear they had bad intentions.
But what was truly surprising was their expressions—they all looked terrified.
Why?
Because of Su Chen.
Right in the center of their encirclement, Su Chen was jumping and flailing wildly. His arms swung around in dramatic 180-degree arcs while he shrieked at the top of his lungs.
“Murder! Help!”
“Fang Qin is trying to kill me!”
At first, Fang Ping and Wang Kai had blocked Su Chen from view, so technically, neither Su Zhenxing nor the other guests should have been able to see him.
But because Su Chen kept jumping up and down, his head kept bobbing above the circle of people, then dropping down again, only to pop up once more.
Up. Down. Up. Down.
As a result, the first thing everyone saw when they arrived was his head popping in and out of view.
Seeing that Su Chen was alive and thrashing around like a lunatic, Su Zhenxing finally breathed a sigh of relief.
It seemed that even though Fang Qin and her group had bad intentions, they hadn’t actually managed to harm Su Chen.
The other guests, however, were deeply disappointed.
What a waste.
After hearing such a blood-curdling scream, they had expected at least one casualty.
But nothing.
No one was injured.
No entertainment.
Of course, they all recognized the young man bouncing up and down in the middle of the circle.
He was none other than Su Chen—the Su family’s biological son who had been retrieved from an orphanage.
It was also clear that Fang Qin and her group had been trying to bully Su Chen.
Normally, this would put the Fang family at fault.
But the problem was—Su Chen wasn’t an easy target either!
Look at him!
Jumping and flailing around like that—did he look like someone who had been bullied?
Not only was he completely unharmed, but he had also screamed so miserably that everyone at the banquet had rushed over.
In doing so, he had completely embarrassed the Fang family.
Fang Qin had brought three people to bully Su Chen, yet they hadn’t even succeeded.
Instead, they had gathered an audience and thoroughly humiliated themselves.
But since no one was actually injured, this incident would likely be brushed off as a minor dispute.
That was why so many guests were secretly feeling disappointed.
Meanwhile, Fang Qin and her three followers stood frozen, stunned and completely at a loss.
They had only planned to get Su Chen drunk, making a fool out of him in front of all the guests.
But the moment they had spoken a few harsh words and taken out the bottles,
Su Chen had gone berserk.
He had started jumping and flailing wildly, swinging his arms in all directions, occasionally slapping one of them across the face or neck.
At first, even with Su Chen’s crazy behavior, they hadn’t been worried.
After all, there were four of them and only one of him.
No matter how much he struggled, he couldn’t possibly win against all four of them.
But then, Su Chen started screaming about murder and begging for help.
And worst of all…
He was using some kind of amplification device.
His voice boomed like it was coming through a microphone, echoing across the entire Fang estate.
It was so loud that it could have shaken the whole house apart.
There was no doubt—everyone had heard it.
That was why Fang Qin and her friends had frozen in fear.
Even if they wanted to continue their plan, there was no way they could do it in front of so many people.
That was why, now, with all eyes on them, Fang Qin and her followers stood there like statues.
Although they were high school students who were used to bullying others, they had never been caught like this.
Soon, the Fang family’s patriarch, Fang Hao, arrived with his wife.
Fang Hao took one look at the situation and immediately understood.
Fang Qin had tried to bully someone.
But this time, she had failed.
Instead, she had been outwitted and humiliated.
Forcing a smile, Fang Hao softened his voice and called out to her.
“Fang Qin, being mischievous again, are you?”
“Hurry over here.”
Hearing this, Fang Qin immediately ran to her father’s side, eyes red as if she had been terribly wronged.
“Daddy…” she whimpered, her voice full of grievance.
Wang Kai, Fang Ping, and Lu Ziyao exchanged glances.
Without saying a word, they quietly followed behind Fang Qin, making it clear—they had only been acting under her orders.
If anything happened, she was responsible, not them.
Su Zhenxing took a deep breath.
Although Fang Qin and her group had tried to target Su Chen, they hadn’t actually done anything to him.
If the Fang family brushed it off as a childish game, it would be difficult for him to pursue the matter any further.
Just as he was about to call Su Chen over and let the matter go…
Everyone saw Su Chen suddenly collapse to the ground.
He clutched his chest, his face contorted in pain, rolling and writhing as he groaned.
“They were trying to kill me!”
“I was so scared I almost died!”
“They were really going to kill me!”
“My heart hurts! My liver hurts! I can’t take it anymore!”
And as if on cue, he began convulsing on the ground, twitching dramatically.
