Chapter 41: Kill Qin Hu!

“My husband? Where is he? Why don’t I see him?” Qin Hu laughed wildly. “Even if he were here, so what? He’d still hide like a turtle. Just watch how I perform for him!”

As Qin Hu reached out to strip the beautiful woman in front of him, a powerful voice came from behind, “I am her husband!”

Hearing this, Qin Hu frowned and slowly turned around. Lin Feng stood there, face expressionless, Dragon Chant in hand, his eyes fixed coldly on Qin Hu. When he saw He Caiwei kneeling on the ground in such a miserable state, his heart ached deeply.

Qin Hu looked Lin Feng up and down with interest. From the uniform, he could tell at a glance—just as he guessed—a Grade C soldier from Yan Pass, someone not even worthy of carrying his boots.

“Kid, this your dear wife?” he mocked.

“Let her go,” Lin Feng said calmly, though the fire in his heart was already raging.

Qin Hu sneered, completely unfazed. “Don’t be so stingy. I came all this way to save you and the people of Yan Pass. Can’t you make a small sacrifice? Just lend me your dear wife for a while. Don’t worry, I won’t damage her. Clean her up and you can still use her.”

Lin Feng could no longer endure. He shook the Dragon Chant in his hand, and the sheathed blade shot straight at Qin Hu.

The moment Lin Feng made his move, Qin Hu sensed danger and hastily dragged one of his subordinates forward. With a squelch, the scabbard pierced through the unlucky soldier’s abdomen.

The force shocked even Qin Hu, who had seen plenty of bloodshed before.

“You’re bold! Not only do you defy orders, but you dare to kill a soldier of the General of the North in broad daylight? Are you tired of living?” Qin Hu roared after shoving aside the wounded man.

Lin Feng remained calm. The moment he saw He Caiwei being humiliated, all these soldiers were already dead in his eyes. Technically, they were under the General of the North, Yan Nantian, and Lin Feng should have shown restraint.

But this was about his dear wife.

Even if it were Yan Nantian himself, Lin Feng wouldn’t let it slide.

As Lin Feng approached step by step, Qin Hu grew alarmed. He had never seen someone so unafraid of death. He shouted, “All of you, kill this maniac!”

With that, Qin Hu led his men and charged.

Lin Feng narrowed his eyes and shot into the crowd like a black whirlwind. In a flash, blades clashed and sparks flew.

When the dust settled, nearly all the soldiers of the General of the North lay sprawled on the ground.

Only Decurion Qin Hu remained barely standing, relying on his broken blade to support himself.

At this moment, Qin Hu finally recalled something. A Centurion once mentioned that among the Yan Pass defenders was a warrior named Lin Feng who had single-handedly shot and slain nearly a thousand soldiers from the Northern Barbarians’ Blood Wolf Army.

He hadn’t believed it before. But now… he was convinced!

“You’re Lin Feng?” he asked, trembling.

Lin Feng’s voice was icy, “You figured it out too late.”

“Don’t… don’t kill me! I’m a Decurion of the General of the North’s army! I used to be General Yan’s personal guard! If you kill me, the General…”

Even after revealing his identity, Lin Feng’s killing intent didn’t waver.

“I’m just a regular soldier, but you charged around on horseback, tried to snatch a woman in broad daylight. That’s not my concern. But the moment you touched my dear wife, your death was sealed.”

Realizing Lin Feng wouldn’t spare him, Qin Hu fell to his knees, kowtowing repeatedly as he cried, “Brother Lin, I was wrong! I lost my mind for a moment. I beg you, for the sake of General Yan, spare me…”

Lin Feng shook his head. “Impossible.”

Just as Lin Feng was about to strike, the sound of urgent hooves echoed nearby. A moment later, four figures arrived together—General of the North Yan Nantian, Deputy General Ye Kai, Garrison General Pan Feng of Yan Pass, and County Magistrate Liu Hong.

“Lin Feng, have you gone mad?!” Liu Hong was the first to speak up when he saw the corpses of the General of the North’s soldiers scattered all over the ground. “Don’t think just because you contributed to the city’s defense, you can defy the law! You killed soldiers in broad daylight—are you planning a rebellion?”

Yan Nantian’s brow furrowed tightly. He had just been discussing with Pan Feng about promoting Lin Feng to Deputy General of Yan Pass, to work alongside Xu Chong as Pan Feng’s left and right arms. He had even intended to recruit Lin Feng directly under his command, granting him a rank no less than Pan Feng’s.

But now, this boy had killed the General of the North’s soldiers in the street!

Not only was it impossible to recruit him now, even promoting him to Deputy General seemed out of reach.

Qin Hu saw Yan Nantian and immediately wailed, “General! Help me! Lin Feng has gone mad. He slaughtered our comrades and now he’s going to kill me, a Decurion! General, I used to be your personal guard—please, save me!”

Yan Nantian looked around, and when his gaze fell on He Caiwei’s torn clothes, he understood everything in an instant.

It must have been Qin Hu, the beast, trying to defile her in public…

But Qin Hu was still a Decurion under his command. He couldn’t turn a blind eye.

So, he looked coldly at Lin Feng and said, “Lin Feng, do me a favor. Let me take that scum back. I promise to punish him severely under military law.”

The surrounding citizens were dumbfounded. Who was this Grade C soldier named Lin Feng that even the renowned General Yan was asking for mercy?

Even Pan Feng stepped forward and said, “Lin Feng, stop this nonsense. If the General of the North’s army hadn’t rushed here from a thousand kilometers away, Yan Pass would’ve fallen. Think carefully about what matters most.”

Even He Caiwei, after tidying her clothes, approached and said, “Husband, let it go. He’s already been taught a lesson, and I wasn’t…”

But Lin Feng didn’t hear a word. His cold gaze was locked onto Qin Hu.

“Next time, keep your eyes open. That woman is mine. No one touches her!”

Before the words had even faded, Dragon Chant slashed down at Qin Hu’s neck.

Crack!

Qin Hu’s head rolled off like a ball, blood spraying across the street as his body collapsed stiffly.

Sigh…

Yan Nantian let out a long sigh. Honestly, when he first heard He Caiwei cry out “husband,” he had already known Qin Hu was doomed.

After a brief pause, he waved his hand and said, “Bind Lin Feng and take him back to the camp!”
