Chapter 83: New Plot, The Heavenly Master Descends From The Mountain:

“Miss Liu!” Yin Danxue spoke calmly from the side. “Mr. Ye’s capabilities don’t need your approval.”

This protective remark made Ye Liuyun raise an eyebrow.

[Well, isn’t this interesting? All of you are standing up for me?]

[Tsk tsk!]

[Are they all falling for me?]

Ye Liuyun found this thought amusing, while Yin Danxue felt slightly embarrassed by her own actions.

Liu Qingqing didn’t expect Fu Zhi and Yin Danxue to defend Ye Liuyun. After all, they were all from wealthy families and knew each other fairly well. Though Liu Qingqing’s relationship with Fu Zhi and Yin Danxue wasn’t particularly close, they had met numerous times.

Fu Zhi’s support was understandable and left Liu Qingqing with nothing to say. But when she saw Yin Danxue, Liu Qingqing let out a laugh.

“I even attended your wedding before. How come you have time to be out and about now?”

The incident of the Yin family’s live-in son-in-law had caused a considerable stir. Liu Qingqing had been present then.

“Oh, I also heard that the Yin family’s son-in-law went missing recently. That wouldn’t happen to be you, would it?”

Her suspicion wasn’t unfounded. Everyone knew Yin Danxue had been reluctant about the wedding. If Zhang Ning was out of the picture, it would naturally leave Yin Danxue free.

[Missing?]

Ye Liuyun found this piece of information somewhat unexpected.

[Right, the Yin family doesn’t know Zhang Ning is dead; they only think he’s missing.]

[In time, the Yin family will figure it out too.]

Dead?

Liu Qingqing was shocked to realize that the son-in-law was dead, and from Ye Liuyun’s casual demeanor, it was clear he had something to do with it.

“You!” She wanted to say something, but Yin Danxue interrupted again.

“Miss Liu, I didn’t expect you to become so nosy over time. I heard the Liu family’s business hasn’t been doing well lately. I hope it’s not because Miss Liu has been making a mess of things.”

Yin Danxue’s words were cutting and devoid of pretense. Liu Qingqing looked at her with dissatisfaction.

What did she mean by making trouble? She’d never done such a thing! Worse still, Liu Zhengye, standing to the side, seemed to believe it, casting a doubtful glance at his daughter.

Up until now, he had always thought of his daughter as polite and well-behaved. Today’s outburst had been beyond his expectations. He felt like he was seeing a different side of her.

“Qingqing!” After a moment’s pause, he finally spoke. “Sometimes, it’s better to control your temper.”

Even though she was his daughter, he tried to keep his words gentle.

“But, Dad!”

Why did even her father think she was at fault? For a moment, Liu Qingqing’s eyes filled with grievance. She could only glare at Ye Liuyun with resentment. In her mind, it was all his fault. If it weren’t for him, she wouldn’t have acted this way!

[What on earth is going on here!]

[Has this so-called dog-licking heroine lost her mind?]

Hearing himself being called a “dog-licking heroine” again, Liu Qingqing could barely contain her frustration.

At this moment, Cang Feng stepped forward confidently after addressing all the feng shui problems.

“Uncle Liu!” he announced.

“What is it?” When it came to feng shui matters, Liu Zhengye’s attention sharpened.

“Everything has been resolved!” Cang Feng nodded, full of confidence. For the sake of his wager, he had given the feng shui issues his all, even delegating tasks to his assistant.

“That’s wonderful!” Liu Zhengye laughed heartily, clearly pleased.

“Miss Liu!” Cang Feng, barely able to contain himself, addressed Liu Qingqing. “Now that the Liu family’s issues have been handled, have you thought about how you’ll repay me?”

“Get lost!”

But Liu Qingqing didn’t even spare him a second glance, replying coldly with a single word.

“What?”

Cang Feng was momentarily stunned. Liu Qingqing’s attitude toward him had always been dismissive but at least polite. Now it was outright rude.

“Ahem!” Liu Zhengye cleared his throat, feeling embarrassed by the scene.

“My dear nephew, don’t take it personally. Qingqing is just in a bad mood today.”

In truth, even he didn’t understand why his usually composed daughter was behaving this way. Nothing significant had happened, after all!

“A bad mood?” Cang Feng considered this thoughtfully. Someone must have upset Liu Qingqing. If he could help her deal with it, winning her over would be a simple matter.

He smiled inwardly with pride but maintained a serious expression outwardly.

“Miss Liu, who made you upset? Allow me to help you vent your frustration!”

Liu Qingqing had no intention of responding to Cang Feng’s offer and simply ignored him, leaving him in an awkward position. Yet, Cang Feng remained unfazed, seizing the chance to examine Ye Liuyun and his companions who had suddenly appeared nearby.

“You!” he exclaimed, convinced that these people must be the reason for Liu Qingqing’s anger. But as he glanced at Yin Danxue and Fu Zhi, both as strikingly beautiful as Liu Qingqing, he gasped.

“Wow!” he muttered, unable to contain his amazement. He had never seen such stunning beauties together before. His mind filled with greedy thoughts. ‘Mine! They’re all mine!’

This sparked an uncontrollable desire in Cang Feng’s heart.

“It’s you!” he declared, finally setting his gaze firmly on Ye Liuyun. “Miss Liu must be upset because of you!”

He was about to continue speaking when Fu Zhi and Yin Danxue immediately stepped in to defend Ye Liuyun.

“What are you up to?”

“Hmm?” Cang Feng was taken aback. He had initially planned to impress Yin Danxue and Fu Zhi later, imagining that they would be awed by his skills and fall for him. However, he hadn’t even had a chance to attempt this before their protective demeanor toward Ye Liuyun left him frozen in shock.

Seeing the two beauties shield Ye Liuyun made his jealousy flare up even more.

Why? He considered himself exceptional, yet no one seemed to appreciate him. Even Liu Qingqing ignored him, while Ye Liuyun had two stunning women by his side!

The envy gnawed at him.

“Enough!” Liu Qingqing spoke up, frowning at Cang Feng. “I don’t need you speaking for me.”

Though she was indeed upset because of Ye Liuyun’s words, this wasn’t a matter for others to involve themselves in. Besides, Liu Qingqing didn’t need Cang Feng to protect her.

This simple dismissal caused Cang Feng’s face to darken slightly. He had tried to stand up for her, only to be scolded. His pride was wounded—after all, he was the protagonist, and strong self-esteem came naturally to him. While he chose not to argue with Liu Qingqing, he turned a hostile gaze toward Ye Liuyun.

“I was wondering why Uncle Liu’s feng shui had such issues despite being minor problems. Turns out, there’s a villain causing trouble!”

He aimed to use his knowledge of feng shui to corner Ye Liuyun.

In Cang Feng’s eyes, Ye Liuyun probably knew nothing about this topic, so whatever he said would go unchallenged.

“A villain causing trouble?” Liu Zhengye’s interest piqued since it involved his home’s feng shui. He noticed Cang Feng glaring at Ye Liuyun, making it obvious who he thought the “villain” was.

“What do you mean?” Fu Zhi snapped, ready to confront him, but Ye Liuyun gestured for her to hold back, a subtle move that only fueled Cang Feng’s irritation. Such a beauty should belong to him and no one else!

Why was he so irked by Ye Liuyun? Cang Feng didn’t know. This was their first meeting, but he already disliked him.

“When you say there’s a villain, you’re referring to me, right?” Ye Liuyun asked with a calm demeanor.

“Exactly!” Cang Feng declared, his arrogance showing. “The feng shui I arranged was disrupted the moment you appeared. There’s clearly something wrong with you!”

“My dear nephew, please don’t speak nonsense!” Liu Zhengye, though not well-versed in feng shui, saw how convincingly Cang Feng spoke. It seemed genuine.

“Of course, I’m not speaking nonsense!” Cang Feng sneered. “Uncle Liu, you may not understand, but after this person appeared, the feng shui I arranged became chaotic!”

“This…” Liu Zhengye hesitated, unsure of whether Cang Feng’s claims were true.

Seeing Liu Zhengye’s doubt, Cang Feng felt triumphant. Clearly, these people had no understanding of feng shui. He turned to Ye Liuyun.

“Some people carry a cursed fate. When their main star appears, it disrupts the feng shui around them and brings misfortune to friends. I advise everyone to stay away from him!” His gaze fell intentionally on Fu Zhi and Yin Danxue as he spoke, making it clear his words were aimed at them.

[Tsk! So this is the new challenge, huh?]

Ye Liuyun was intrigued. He hadn’t expected the new plot to involve ghostly theories and spiritual matters. He had simply intended to collect a plot point, but now he was facing off against Cang Feng. It was strange yet interesting. Instead of taking Cang Feng’s provocation seriously, Ye Liuyun laughed.

“Why are you laughing?” Cang Feng’s frown deepened. He had expected his words to enrage Ye Liuyun, hoping for a chance to teach him a lesson. Yet, Ye Liuyun was unfazed and even amused, which only fueled Cang Feng’s dissatisfaction. He felt belittled.

“Nothing, I’m just curious. How much do you actually know about feng shui?”

[Would an adult get mad at a child’s mistake?]

Ye Liuyun wouldn’t waste his energy on Cang Feng. He could easily crush him if needed.

“The theory of feng shui?” Cang Feng was caught off guard by the question but quickly regained his confidence. He knew this was his strength.

“My master was the renowned Zian Zhenren, and I’ve mastered his teachings. Be it feng shui, divination, or exorcism, I excel at them all!”
