Chapter 87: The Worthless Son of Destiny, The King of Entertainment?:

Being an ordinary person, Fu Zhi probably wouldn’t be able to walk properly for the entire day. More importantly…

“I didn’t go home last night. Your family must be worried,” Ye Liuyun said, realizing the situation. Though Fu Zhi’s family wasn’t as strict as Yin Danxue’s, disappearing overnight would still make them anxious.

And, as if on cue, Fu Zhi’s phone rang. After answering the call, she looked visibly unhappy.

“I have to go back, right?” Ye Liuyun asked, already knowing the answer.

“Yes,” Fu Zhi nodded, sighing. “I just wanted to spend more time with you, Brother Liuyun.”

“There will be plenty of opportunities in the future,” Ye Liuyun reassured her. They cuddled for a little while longer before Fu Zhi called Yin Danxue, asking her to come to pick her up. She had told her family that she was staying at Yin Danxue’s house. It wasn’t that she was ashamed of being with Ye Liuyun, but it would complicate things for now. She preferred to wait until she was fully prepared before revealing the truth.

“What happened to you?” Yin Danxue exclaimed, eyes wide, as she saw Fu Zhi’s awkward walk when leaving the hotel. Even though she had suspected this would happen, seeing it for herself was still shocking.

Fu Zhi ignored her and said to Ye Liuyun, “Brother Liuyun, I’m leaving now.”

There was a lingering gaze as she bid farewell.

After exchanging a brief goodbye with Ye Liuyun, Fu Zhi got into the passenger seat. Yin Danxue greeted Ye Liuyun before driving away, noting how Fu Zhi kept glancing back at him.

“What’s gotten into you?” Yin Danxue asked once they were alone. Now that they were away from Ye Liuyun, she couldn’t hold back her curiosity.

Fu Zhi, no longer able to see Ye Liuyun, settled into her seat and answered casually, “Isn’t it obvious? You knew exactly what I was planning last night.”

“Of course, I knew,” Yin Danxue said, feeling a bit exasperated. “But I’m still surprised you actually went through with it.”

“Forget about me!” Fu Zhi said, shifting the attention. “What about you?”

“Me? What do you mean?” Yin Danxue asked, feigning ignorance.

“Don’t pretend!” Fu Zhi cut through her act. “You like Brother Liuyun too, don’t you?”

“I—” Yin Danxue wanted to deny it, but Fu Zhi’s knowing look made her pause. Eventually, she conceded, “I can’t be as bold as you.”

“And,” Yin Danxue continued, sounding dejected, “Even though there’s nothing real between me and Zhang Ning anymore, on the surface, I’m a widow. How could I…”

Could she really be with Ye Liuyun?

This insecurity had kept Yin Danxue from taking any steps forward.

“Are you being serious?” Fu Zhi said, trying to lift her spirits. “That ‘widow’ status is just a title. No one really knows what happened, but Brother Liuyun does. He knows exactly who you are, inside and out.”

Though the thought embarrassed Yin Danxue, it also made her feel somewhat reassured. She whispered, “Do you think it’s possible?”

“No one’s more worthy than you!” Fu Zhi replied without hesitation.

Meanwhile, Ye Liuyun had already returned to Qu Yingmeng’s villa, completely unaware of the exchange between Yin Danxue and Fu Zhi.

“Brother Liuyun!” Zhuge Mu ran over to greet him as soon as he entered. Ye Liuyun caught and supported him, then glanced over at Qu Yingmeng, who was busy at her computer.

“Aren’t you at the company today?” he asked with a smile. Usually, Qu Yingmeng spent most of her time there managing business affairs.

Qu Yingmeng shrugged and smiled back. “I’ve taken care of most of the major issues and hired a professional manager. I should have more free time now.”

She turned away from the screen and looked directly at Ye Liuyun, a hint of playfulness in her eyes.

“I also have more time to spend with you!” Qu Yingmeng said, a playful smile on her face.

“Ha!” Ye Liuyun chuckled in response. He gently let go of Zhuge Mu, who had been clinging to him, and glanced curiously at what Qu Yingmeng was looking at on her computer screen. “Are you listening to music?”

“No,” Qu Yingmeng shook her head. Although she had been browsing the music charts, she had other motives. “The Zhao Group primarily focuses on real estate. While we’ve dabbled in various industries, real estate is our primary business.”

She paused, thinking aloud. “But the real estate market can only grow so much before it hits its limits. It’s time to explore new avenues.”

“Do you have a plan?” Ye Liuyun asked, intrigued but not intending to get too involved. Managing a company wasn’t his area of interest—it sounded too complicated. Still, he was curious.

“Entertainment,” Qu Yingmeng said with a confident smile after a moment of thought. “The Zhao Group hasn’t touched the entertainment industry before, so I’m planning to enter it.”

Given the Zhao Group’s vast assets, even if the venture didn’t pan out, it would be a minor setback.

“Entertainment?” Ye Liuyun nodded, now understanding why she had been looking at music charts. At that moment, Qu Yingmeng turned her laptop toward him, clicking on a top-ranked song on the charts.

“We just signed a promising singer, and his debut song is already topping every major chart!”

Qu Yingmeng was genuinely surprised by the unexpected success.

“Hmm?” Ye Liuyun raised an eyebrow. “Number one?”

That was impressive—except when he saw the song title, his expression turned peculiar.

[10 Years?]

[What’s going on?]

Noticing Ye Liuyun’s reaction, Qu Yingmeng was puzzled.

Was there something wrong with the song? But Ye Liuyun’s thoughts were elsewhere, fixated on what he saw.

He frowned.

[It’s exactly like the song ‘10 Years’ from before I time-traveled!]

[No wonder it’s so popular.]

[But how did a song from my world end up here?]

In a world that was supposed to be completely different, it didn’t make any sense.

As Ye Liuyun pondered, he decided to keep quiet, and his suspicions grew.

[If it isn’t a coincidence, there’s only one explanation—a new Son of Destiny!]

Just then, a system prompt appeared.

[A new Son of Destiny has been detected. Would you like to receive plot information?]

Of course, Ye Liuyun accepted immediately, and new plot details streamed into his mind.

[So that’s it.]

It wasn’t a complicated plot, and Ye Liuyun quickly grasped it.

[The protagonist, Chen Kai, finds a notebook from another world that contains all the music and creative works from there, leading him to become an entertainment industry king.]

[This ‘other world’ is clearly the world I came from.]

[But this protagonist doesn’t have any special abilities.]

From what Ye Liuyun could tell, this plot leaned heavily toward the entertainment business and lacked the more fantastical elements.

[It’s a simple plot, meaning there isn’t much content.]

[And less content means less value.]

With this realization, Ye Liuyun sighed.

In his mind, things with little value had no reason to stick around.

“Oh, by the way,” Qu Yingmeng said, snapping him out of his thoughts. “The singer may have talent, but he stares at me a bit too boldly.”

“Hm?” Ye Liuyun’s eyes sharpened as he looked at her.

Qu Yingmeng smiled, unbothered. “So, even if he makes money, I’m going to fire him.”

As a Son of Destiny, it wasn’t surprising that Chen Kai would be drawn to beautiful women. And with someone as stunning as Qu Yingmeng, it was expected.

Ye Liuyun grinned. “Leave his dismissal to me. You don’t need to worry.”

He already had plans on how to deal with Chen Kai.

“Alright,” Qu Yingmeng agreed without question, trusting him implicitly. This pleased Ye Liuyun greatly.

“In that case, I’ll head out for a bit.”

“Be safe,” Qu Yingmeng said softly as he left.

Zhuge Mu, who had been observing the interaction, seemed puzzled. “Is that all?”

“What else is there?” Qu Yingmeng responded, raising an eyebrow. Zhuge Mu’s confusion only deepened.

“You’re still young,” she said with a slight smile. “Sometimes, acting a little oblivious is what men like most.”

“Really?” Zhuge Mu scratched his head, nodding but still looking unsure.

“Never mind,” Qu Yingmeng sighed, realizing it would take too much effort to explain. “Just remember, Ye Liuyun appreciates this kind of behavior.”

“Got it!” Zhuge Mu nodded earnestly, though he clearly hadn’t fully grasped what she meant.
