Chapter 1: Who Gave You Permission to Just Leave?

“It’s already the eighteenth time. That should be enough…”

In the secret chamber of the Heavenly Mystic Sect, Qin Yun was panting heavily, his face deathly pale.

A woman of unmatched beauty sat atop him, her black hair cascading like a waterfall, eyes as bright as stars, skin smooth like jade with a faint luster, and her body exuded an intoxicating fragrance. Compared to her, even the most breathtaking women in the world would pale in comparison.

“Just two more times. We only need to dual cultivate twice more,” the peerless woman said. “Two more times…” Qin Yun’s legs trembled.

Three months ago, after obtaining the Primordial God-Sealing Hall and unintentionally activating it, he had encountered this astonishing woman inside. When they first met, she wore a silver moon crown and clothes embroidered with stars—dressed like a divine being from legend. Then, he was forcibly pulled into dual cultivation.

At first, he rather enjoyed it.

After all, who wouldn’t be tempted by a goddess like her?

But as time went on, the sessions became more frequent—once a day, then three times, eventually nine times a day.

It became a daily routine. Today, she claimed it was the final session and they just needed to do it a few more times.

Qin Yun believed her, hoping for release. But it wasn’t just a few more times—it was many more. Eighteen, to be exact.

He now felt completely drained. Panting, his pale face filled with resistance, Qin Yun said, “I’m done!”

“Only two more times and the Swallowing Heaven Divine Veins will be complete. Once that happens, you’ll possess them. Don’t you want that?” the woman frowned. “I don’t want it!” Qin Yun firmly rejected her.

He no longer believed anything she said. She had said “just a few more times” before and ended up draining him nine times. Who knew whether, even after the Swallowing Heaven Divine Veins were complete, she would still keep using him like a dual cultivation cauldron?

“You’re refusing?” The woman’s tone turned cold. “I’ve cast aside everything and dual cultivated with you for three whole months. It was hard enough to condense the Swallowing Heaven Divine Veins, and now you say you don’t want them?”

“Do you even know what kind of chaos the Swallowing Heaven Divine Veins would cause if they were revealed? Forget humans—even gods would fight to the death for them. And you’re saying you don’t want them?”

She waved her hand gently. The nine-colored Swallowing Heaven Divine Veins floated into view before Qin Yun. The veins mirrored the human meridian system, but ancient divine runes covered their surface. Each rune pulsed with a mysterious and powerful aura, clearly anything but ordinary. Only a small portion remained unformed—just a little more and it would be complete.

Qin Yun clenched his jaw and turned away. “No!”

Her face darkened. “I’ve waited countless ages and watched as countless people obtained the Primordial God-Sealing Hall. Yet only you could open it and dual cultivate with me. You are the only one.”

“If you give up, the Primordial God-Sealing Hall will close again, and I don’t know how many tens of thousands of years I’ll have to wait.”

“I’ll give you three days to think it over. I’ll wait for you here. If you don’t return, the Swallowing Heaven Divine Veins will shatter, and the Primordial God-Sealing Hall will once again sink into the void.”

Qin Yun left the chamber and lay in his room for two days before finally recovering.

Boom boom…

The thunderous sound of drums echoed across the entire Heavenly Mystic Sect.

“Eight strikes of the Heavenly Mystic Drum… Something big must have happened in the sect,” Qin Yun frowned.

“Young Master!” An inner sect disciple rushed over anxiously and said, “Something terrible has happened! The Beastmaster of the Myriad Beasts Sect has surrounded our sect with the Eight Beast Commanders and over ten thousand demonic beasts!”

Qin Yun’s expression turned serious.

The Myriad Beasts Sect was the number one sect in Luo City. While the Heavenly Mystic Sect wasn’t weak either, it only ranked third. The gap in strength between them and the top-ranked Myriad Beasts Sect was significant. Normally, the two sects stayed out of each other’s affairs, and the disciples rarely interacted. The Heavenly Mystic Sect had never provoked the Myriad Beasts Sect. So why had the Beastmaster suddenly come with an army?

“The Grand Elder and the others have already gone to confront them. They told me to let you know to stay here and not get involved. They’ll handle it,” the disciple said.

“I’ll go take a look,” Qin Yun said as he darted out.

“Young Master…” The disciple didn’t dare stop him and could only follow.

…

At the main gate of the Heavenly Mystic Sect, the Grand Elder stood at the front, with the disciples of the sect forming a defensive perimeter behind him, weapons drawn and ready.

A serpent-dragon over 100 meters long lay coiled at the gate. Its chilling gaze was fixed on the Grand Elder, its red tongue flicking in and out. Its black scales gleamed with a menacing light. Atop its head sat the Beastmaster.

Behind him, the Eight Beast Commanders rode various demonic beast leaders. Further back, a vast horde of demonic beasts stretched across the mountains—over ten thousand in number. Their constant roars and howls shook the very gates of the Heavenly Mystic Sect.

The Grand Elder spoke first, “Beastmaster, there has never been enmity between our Heavenly Mystic Sect and your Myriad Beasts Sect. Why are you bringing such a force to our doorstep?”

“He came to take me away.” A beautiful woman in purple gauze stepped forward from within the sect.

Everyone was stunned.

Why was Lin Huaiyue involved with the Myriad Beasts Sect?

The Second Elder’s face fell immediately, and he asked coldly, “Lin Huaiyue, not only are you a disciple of our Heavenly Mystic Sect, but also the Young Master’s fiancée. You’ve been secretly associating with the Myriad Beasts Sect—does the Young Master know?”

“Who I associate with is my own business. What does it have to do with your Heavenly Mystic Sect or Qin Yun?” Lin Huaiyue replied indifferently.

“Lin Huaiyue, as the Young Master’s fiancée, you represent both him and our sect. And you say it has nothing to do with us?” The Second Elder was about to lash out in anger but was stopped by the Grand Elder.

The Grand Elder asked in a deep voice, “Lin Huaiyue, what exactly are you planning?”

“Didn’t I just say? My master has come to take me to the Myriad Beasts Sect.” Lin Huaiyue glanced coldly at them.

“Your master?” The elders frowned.

“I’ve already acknowledged the Beastmaster as my master. Since everyone is here, I’ll make it official.” Lin Huaiyue looked around.

“From this moment on, I, Lin Huaiyue, withdraw from the Heavenly Mystic Sect. Also, I cancel my engagement to Qin Yun. From today on, I have no ties to either him or the sect.”

She pulled out the robe of a core disciple of the Myriad Beasts Sect and put it on. Then, she removed her Heavenly Mystic Sect waist token and threw it to the ground, stomping on it until it shattered.

The disciples’ eyes turned red.

The elders’ faces were grim. If the Grand Elder hadn’t stopped the more hot-headed among them, they would have rushed forward already.

“Lin Huaiyue, our Young Master has always treated you well. And this is how you repay him?”

“Two years ago, if he hadn’t saved you and brought you to the sect, you wouldn’t even be qualified to be one of our disciples.”

“You knew the Young Master couldn’t hold his liquor, but you forced him to drink. That night happened because of that. If not for protecting your reputation, would he have agreed to marry you?”

“In the past two years, the Young Master has provided you with countless spiritual medicines. Without them, how would you have awakened your bloodline power half a month ago and ranked 38th on Luo City’s regional list?”

The Third Elder’s anger intensified as he spoke.

Without Qin Yun’s full support and the supply of spiritual medicines, could Lin Huaiyue have reached where she was today?

And now, after just a little success, she betrayed Qin Yun and the sect.

But Lin Huaiyue showed no remorse. Instead, she sneered, “Third Elder, don’t you find your words laughable?”

“Qin Yun gave me all those spiritual medicines of his own free will. I never forced him. And besides, I was his fiancée—using the sect’s resources was perfectly reasonable.”

“So tell me, what right do you all have to criticize me?”

The Third Elder’s face turned green with rage.

The Grand Elder remained calm and looked at her. “Qin Yun is the Young Master of our sect and the future Sect Master. Marrying him would have made you the Sect Master’s wife—not a low position. Yet you chose to join the Myriad Beasts Sect. I don’t understand—what are you thinking?”

Lin Huaiyue sneered, “Grand Elder, if you were me, would you willingly marry a useless man like Qin Yun?”

“His talent is mediocre. Without the Heavenly Mystic Sect’s resources, he might not even break into the Qi Refining Realm.”

“Even if he inherits the Sect Master position one day, he’ll still be a waste.”

“And your sect? Ranked third in Luo City, but only has eighteen years of history. Shallow roots.”

“Compared to the Myriad Beasts Sect—first in Luo City with over 200 years of foundation—you’re not even close in power or heritage.”

“I, Lin Huaiyue, am a heaven-blessed genius. I’m destined to go further. I won’t let myself be dragged down by your Heavenly Mystic Sect or that useless Young Master.”

The Grand Elder’s expression turned grim. The other elders were seething with rage. If not for the Grand Elder keeping them in check, they would’ve attacked already.

“Huaiyue, you’ve said enough, haven’t you? Then let’s go. We’ve got a long way back to the Myriad Beasts Sect,” the Beastmaster said with disdain, glancing at the crowd.

“Yes, Master.” Lin Huaiyue quickly followed.

“Who gave you permission to just leave?” Qin Yun walked up coldly as the disciples of the Heavenly Mystic Sect made way for him.
