I'll Slaughter My Way to Immortality on the Bones of Betrayers - Chapter 14:
Chapter 14: Why Is There a Woman in My Bed?
“You want me to kill the Holy Son of the Three Thousand Dao Sect while inside the sect itself?” The woman let out a soft laugh. “Am I the one who’s not fully awake, or is it you?”
The Three Thousand Dao Sect was the foremost sect on the Immortal Path. It had actual Great Ascension Realm experts. Even though her strength was on par with Lu Sheng’s, assassinating Lu Hengge and escaping unharmed was no simple feat.
Ye Feng was silent for a moment before responding, “The sect master is in seclusion, and Lu Hengge has lost all his cultivation. He no longer lives at Qingyun Peak either. Killing a cripple like him should be as easy as blowing a breath of air for someone like you.”
The woman lazily swung her legs, then suddenly froze mid-motion. Her beautiful eyes lit up with fire. “What did you just say?”
“I said the sect master is in seclusion,” Ye Feng repeated, thinking she was worried about being caught by a Great Ascension Realm expert. He spilled the confidential detail on purpose to reassure her.
She stood up immediately, demonic Qi surging from her body. Her cold hand gripped Ye Feng’s chin and forcibly tilted his head upward. Their eyes met, and Ye Feng’s pupils instantly began to lose focus.
Charm technique? No—this was a seductive constitution.
Among billions of cultivators, a rare few were born with exceptional physiques. As long as these monstrous talents didn’t die young, they were destined to shine during turbulent times. Clearly, this demon woman had such a physique. She didn’t need to cultivate charm techniques—just making eye contact was enough to break someone’s will and turn them into her puppet.
Ye Feng panicked inwardly. Fortunately, he had the system. Otherwise, he might’ve knelt down and started licking her feet already.
Still… licking her feet wasn’t entirely unacceptable. If she insisted on rewarding him, Ye Feng could reluctantly accept.
“Lu Hengge has lost all his cultivation,” he repeated while taking deep breaths of the alluring scent in the air. Not only was this woman stunning, even her fragrance was intoxicating—it made him want to inhale more.
The woman narrowed her eyes slightly. Confident in her seductive physique, she concluded that Ye Feng was telling the truth.
“Lu Hengge, looks like your time has come. I’ve waited long enough!” She flung Ye Feng aside, and her figure vanished in an instant.
Ye Feng collapsed to the ground, both resentful and strangely thrilled. Being toyed with by a woman like that wasn’t exactly unacceptable—but her tone definitely irritated him.
After quite a while, Ye Feng stood up slowly, anxiety creeping into his heart. “From what she said, she seems to know Lu Hengge. Is sending her to kill him really a good idea?”
If they were enemies, then it would go smoothly. But something felt off…
Then it hit him. “She ran off so fast, I didn’t even tell her where Lu Hengge is staying!”
For a cultivator, locating someone wasn’t hard—especially for someone in the Fusion Realm. A sweep of divine sense could detect everything within tens of thousands of kilometers.
But the problem was… she was a demon cultivator. This was the Three Thousand Dao Sect. If she released her divine sense here, sect experts would swarm her in seconds. Even the secluded sect master might come out to investigate.
Ye Feng quickly asked in his mind, “System, who is that woman?”
[Ding! Identified: Mo Hu.]
The name sounded familiar. After a moment of thought, Ye Feng realized, “A hundred years ago, the Demon Emperor married a saintess of the fox clan named Ji Hu. According to the demon race’s customs, concubines must take the husband’s surname, so she was renamed Mo Hu.”
“So that woman is Moksha’s stepmother?”
It all made sense now. As a saintess of the fox clan and concubine to the Demon Emperor, her being in the Fusion Realm was reasonable. But… what was the Demon Emperor’s concubine doing near the Three Thousand Dao Sect?
After all, the sect was millions of kilometers away from the demon race’s stronghold. Even Fusion Realm experts needed ten to fifteen days to cross that distance.
Ye Feng frowned. Tonight’s events were getting far too complicated.
…
That night, a gentle breeze drifted through. Moonlight fell softly, painting the earth in a silvery glow. All around was silence.
Cultivators lived much like mortals. Most were active during the day and returned to their caves at night—not to sleep, but to cultivate. Only those in deep seclusion disregarded time altogether.
A faint fragrance wafted through the quiet forest. One of the guards secretly monitoring Lu Hengge’s wooden hut sniffed the air and sent a divine message to his companion, “Old Wang, did you douse yourself in perfume again? Quit going to Zui Meng Lou. That place is full of seductive little foxes.”
A nearby guard raised his sleeve and sniffed, “I went there yesterday. No way there’s still perfume scent today!”
His partner shook his head. “We’re cultivators, and yet you’re still hung up on mortal brothels. If this gets out, what happens to the sect’s dignity?”
Peace returned to the surroundings.
None of them noticed the door to Lu Hengge’s hut slowly open. A graceful silhouette slipped inside.
Inside, Lu Hengge was fast asleep. Mo Hu entered barefoot, her steps light on the wooden floor. Normally, even the faintest sound would rouse a cultivator, but Lu Hengge didn’t stir.
“His cultivation is really gone. Not only that, all his meridians are broken too. Tsk tsk, how tragic.”
She walked to the bed but didn’t make a move to kill him. Instead, she sat at the bedside and gently stroked his cheek, her eyes filled with mixed emotions.
Logically, she should’ve hated him. But looking at his face, that hatred no longer seemed so important.
“I finally found you. But now that I have, what should I do with you?”
As she felt the warmth radiating from his body, old memories surfaced. Back when she was still a fox, she had often curled up in Lu Hengge’s arms to sleep.
On impulse, she lifted the blanket and slid in beside him, resting her head on his chest. “Still just as warm as before.”
In his sleep, Lu Hengge unconsciously hugged the soft figure tighter.
The night was tranquil.
No one would ever imagine that inside a shabby hut, a man and a woman were sleeping together—and the woman was from the demon race.
Neither of them slept very still, especially Mo Hu. Perhaps because her true form was a fox, she liked to move around in her sleep.
When dawn’s light streamed into the hut, their clothes were a mess, looking as if they had spent the night in passionate battle.
Lu Hengge slowly opened his eyes.
A stunning face was just inches away, their breaths brushing against each other.
Lu Hengge froze.
Who was this?
Why was there a woman in his bed?
