Stunned! My Cat Turned Out to Be a Female CEO - Chapter 8:
Chapter 8: Shy Xu Yan! Even If She Starved, She Would Never Live With the Dog Man!:
Thump. Thump. Xu Yan could hear her heart racing. Her fair skin flushed pink with embarrassment.
‘Calm down. I need to stay calm.’ She told herself, covering her mouth.
After all, she was a company CEO, accustomed to handling crises worth billions. This wasn’t her first time being in bed with a man.
‘No big deal.’ She thought.
She quietly turned, carefully placing her pink feet on the floor, making sure not to make a sound.
Having been a cat twice now, she’d learned how to move silently. She was tense. If Lu Fei opened his eyes, he’d see her like this, completely exposed. She didn’t dare rush.
Finally, she reached the door.
Thankfully, Lu Fei lived alone and didn’t lock his bedroom door. As she slipped out, she breathed a sigh of relief, not waking him.
In the living room, she grabbed a piece of clothing from the balcony and draped it over her body.
The faint scent of laundry detergent clung to Lu Fei’s clothes, just like his sheets and pillows. She blushed again.
After making sure she was fully covered, she tiptoed to the door and gently opened it. The door lock was a combination one, good quality, so it didn’t make much noise.
Lu Fei still didn’t stir.
Xu Yan’s face lit up with excitement. ‘I’m out!’
Despite her excitement, she remained calm, carefully placing one of her shoes against the door. She planned to come back later to return Lu Fei’s clothes so he wouldn’t get suspicious.
She left his apartment and dashed to the next door, her own place.
She entered her fingerprint, and the door unlocked. Once inside, she closed the door and let out a long breath.
‘Safe, for now!’
“That was scarier than managing a billion-dollar trade!” she muttered, her heart still racing.
Xu Yan quickly changed back into her own clothes and returned to Lu Fei’s apartment to hang up the borrowed ones.
Lu Fei was still asleep. She quietly put everything back in place and left again.
‘All traces, gone.’
“Goodbye, dog man! I’m never coming back!” she whispered to herself, sticking out her tongue at his door before leaving.
She hadn’t heard a word from him today, yet somehow, she’d let him take advantage of her.
And lying in bed with him like that?! What a loss!
She vowed never to return. No matter how bad things got—even if she starved or her company went bankrupt—she would never live with this dog man again!
Xu Yan took the elevator down, exited the building, and drove away in her car. She had brought it with her yesterday, and only she and her assistant, Chen Yu, knew about her staying here. Not even her driver knew. She wanted to keep it as secret as possible. If anyone found out that Lu Fei lived in the same complex, it might lead to misunderstandings.
The mere thought of someone suspecting an affair between her and Lu Fei made her face burn.
“Dog man,” she muttered, shaking her head as she drove to the company.
By 6:40 a.m., she arrived at work and went straight to the top floor.
Her office had a rest area with a shower, and she quickly cleaned herself up, washing away the scent of Lu Fei and the dust on her feet. After the shower, she leaned back on her office sofa, feeling much better.
‘No more dog man smell. Finally.’
“There’s still time,” she thought, closing her eyes. “I’ll take a quick nap.”
But as soon as she shut her eyes, Lu Fei’s face kept popping into her mind. After ten minutes of tossing and turning, she gave up.
“Ugh, so annoying,” she muttered to herself. “I’ll just rest at home tonight, where I can relax properly.”
With that, she turned on her computer and started working.
At 8 a.m., Lu Fei woke up and glanced around.
‘Where’s Little Flower?’
“Little Flower!” he called out, but there was no answer. He quickly got up and checked his clothes. They were all still there.
‘Is she hiding?’
He wondered, looking around. But he couldn’t find her.
“Eh, whatever. There’s food and water in the house, so she’ll be fine.” He shrugged.
He didn’t think too much of it and went to take a shower, feeling excited. Today was Friday, and by 5 p.m., his weekend would begin!
The A-share market was closed on weekends, which meant two days of pure relaxation.
‘Perfect!’
For breakfast, he drank a glass of milk and ate two boiled eggs before heading downstairs to drive to work.
At 8:40 a.m., Lu Fei arrived at the company. His colleague Zhou Song immediately approached him, whispering, “Have you heard? The Financial Analysis Department was asked to calculate the lowest possible share price for Xin’an Energy this morning.”
“How much did they estimate?” Lu Fei asked.
“120 yuan.” Zhou Song replied.
Lu Fei shook his head. “That’s still too high.”
Zhou Song looked surprised. “Really? Xin’an Energy can’t be that bad, right?”
“No, but there are risks,” Lu Fei explained. “At the current price, it won’t lose money in the long run, but there are problems.”
Xin’an Energy had recently invested 2.1 billion yuan in a new production line for patented batteries. If those patents couldn’t be used, they’d be in big trouble.
Lu Fei believed someone had already seen the issue and was quietly exiting.
At 9:15, the pre-market bidding began.
By 9:25, the bidding ended. The opening price of Xin’an Energy was 140.2 yuan, just slightly above yesterday’s closing price.
At 9:28, with the stock market moments away from opening, Xu Yan, along with six directors and over twenty financial analysts, sat in the large conference room, all eyes locked on Xin’an Energy’s stock price.
