Chapter 38: The Subway Is Really Being Rerouted!
However, before she could respond, Xu Tian had already pulled away and said, “Honey, you haven’t eaten yet, have you? I’ll go make something!” Tang Bingyan was speechless. She had already asked the maid to prepare dinner earlier—besides, was eating even the priority right now? The next day, Xu Tian showed Tang Bingyan the finalized bidding proposal for the land in Nanshan District. After Tang Bingyan helped him fix a few small errors, they submitted the bid.
Three days later, Xu Tian left early in the morning after saying goodbye to Tang Bingyan and headed straight to the Xu Group. He hadn’t shown up at the company during the past three days, instead spending time studying and staying with Tang Bingyan. But even though he knew she probably wouldn’t reject him, he didn’t try to cross the line or get physically close to her. There was still a gap between them, and he didn’t want to do anything before she fully trusted him. It was his way of taking responsibility and showing respect.
When Xu Tian arrived at the Xu Group, the meeting room was already lively.
“Three days have passed, and there’s still no news about the subway being rerouted!”
“Haha, no one here would disagree if I said Xu Tian is just a lying good-for-nothing, right?”

The company’s senior executives were all discussing what Xu Tian had said three days ago about the subway being rerouted.
While everyone was talking, Xu Rixin slowly walked into the meeting room. Compared to his usual self, he seemed unusually energetic today.
“Everyone’s here, I see?” Xu Rixin glanced around at the group of executives and smiled, looking even more smug.
Today was the day Xu Tian would be kicked out of the company. Finally, he could get rid of a major thorn in his side.

“CEO Xu, where’s that bastard Xu Tian?”
“Yeah, CEO Xu, why didn’t he come with you today?”
Hearing their eager voices, Xu Rixin’s smile grew even wider. But soon, he gestured with his hand for everyone to calm down and then said, “That bet was just Xu Tian trying to find a way to quit gracefully in front of his wife. The subway rerouting is impossible. If nothing unexpected happens, he won’t be showing up today.”
The executives were stunned.
“He’s not coming?”
“He just decided not to show up?”
“Even if he doesn’t come, shouldn’t he at least give us an explanation for spreading false information?”
The senior staff were clearly unhappy with Xu Tian’s actions. Many of them had spent the past three days worrying about the situation, and now Xu Tian didn’t even bother to show up? How could they just let that go?

Facing their aggressive tone, Xu Tian remained calm. Still smiling, he pulled out a chair and sat down casually.
Seeing that things were getting tense, Xu Rixin walked up to him and frowned. “Xiao Tian, didn’t I already text you this morning? Why are you still here?”
“What, am I not allowed to come?” Xu Tian gave him a sidelong glance.
Xu Rixin’s face froze. He sighed and said, “Xiao Tian, I’m saying this for your own good. The subway reroute is impossible, and your ridiculous bet has kept everyone here on edge for three days. If you stay, no one will make things easy for you.”
Xu Tian looked at his so-called big brother, still pretending to care about him, and sneered. “There’s still one more day left. What’s the rush?”
But the other executives, seeing how relaxed and unbothered Xu Tian was, grew even more furious.
“Xu Tian, are you enjoying making fools of us? Today, you owe us an explanation!”
“Otherwise, we won’t let this go!”
Xu Rixin once again tried to mediate with a sincere expression. “Xiao Tian, you only made that bet because you were trying to find a way to leave the company. I’ll explain everything to Tang Bingyan for you. You don’t need to keep up the act in front of your big brother…”
Just then, Xu Rixin’s secretary, dressed in a professional suit with a striking figure, hurried into the conference room.
Seeing the strange look on her face, Xu Rixin suddenly had a bad feeling.
Secretary Li quickly came up beside him and whispered in his ear, “CEO Xu, just now Jiangcheng News reported— the subway route has changed!”
Xu Rixin’s eyes widened in shock. “What did you say?!”

The whole meeting room exploded.

The report had been published just five minutes ago.
Instantly, the room fell into a dead silence.
Everyone stared at their phones in disbelief. Some even thought their eyes were playing tricks on them and refreshed the page multiple times—only then did they accept it was real.
“It’s actually being rerouted…”
“How is this even possible?”
“Xu Tian was right!”
All the executives looked at Xu Tian as if he were a ghost, their eyes filled with shock and disbelief.
