The Beautiful CEO Only Loves Me - Chapter 37:
Chapter 37: Since When Was Xu Tian This Scheming?
He didn’t stop Xu Rixin from secretly doing whatever he was up to.
After all, he knew that Tang Bingyan didn’t trust him right now.
What he needed to do now was to use certain events to make Tang Bingyan realize she shouldn’t trust others too easily—and that way, she wouldn’t doubt him so quickly either.
Inside the villa…
Tang Bingyan stared at the message and the familiar gift box in the photo, her expression slightly dazed.
That necklace… Xu Tian was giving it to her?
Thinking carefully, the “Y” on the pendant might not stand for “Yin” as in Lin Miaoyin… It could also be for “Yan”—her own name.
But when she saw the picture Xu Rixin sent her earlier, she had immediately assumed it was meant for Lin Miaoyin.
It wasn’t entirely her fault for jumping to that conclusion—after all, in the three years of their marriage, Xu Tian had always been obsessed with Lin Miaoyin and had never once given her a gift.
This was the first time Xu Tian had ever taken the initiative to give her something.
That alone stirred a strange feeling in her heart.
Still, because of her personality, even though her originally cold expression had softened, she only replied to Xu Tian with three words:
“I don’t know.”
On the other end, when Xu Tian saw the reply, a subtle smile curved the corners of his lips.
Whether or not Xu Rixin had tried to stir trouble with Tang Bingyan, his own message had already cleared things up. The crisis was averted.
He quickly typed another message and sent it to her:
“Wait for me to come home after work.”
“Okay.”
Her reply came fast. It was just a single word, but it made Xu Tian’s smile widen further.
Letting out a deep breath, he felt a lot more relaxed. He put down his phone and continued tidying up, preparing to go home.
Bang!
Just then, the office door was suddenly pushed open from the outside.
Startled, Xu Tian looked up and saw Ah Wei walking in quickly with two tall, burly bodyguards.
“Xu Tian, CEO Tang sent us to bring you home,” Ah Wei said coldly, his tone brooking no refusal.
Xu Tian paused for a moment.
Although he had suspected this might happen, Ah Wei’s arrival confirmed his guess.
Thankfully, he’d reacted in time—otherwise, all his efforts might have been wasted.
He nodded at Ah Wei. “Alright.”
With that, he picked up the gift box from the table and followed them out of the office.
When Ah Wei saw the box in Xu Tian’s hands, he immediately thought he understood why Tang Bingyan suddenly wanted him to bring Xu Tian home.
He figured Xu Tian was about to meet Lin Miaoyin again.
He even had a gift ready!
At that thought, Ah Wei’s expression grew even colder. “Xu Tian, don’t bring that thing back with you. Don’t test CEO Tang’s limits!”
“It’s a gift I bought for CEO Tang,” Xu Tian replied with a smile.
“Heh!”
Ah Wei sneered, “You think I’m an idiot? Or that CEO Tang is?”
Xu Tian didn’t bother arguing. He simply turned and walked toward the main doors.
Watching Xu Tian act so smug just because CEO Tang liked him, Ah Wei nearly lost it.
But he knew—if he really laid a hand on Xu Tian, and if Xu Tian managed to smooth things over later with a few whispered words beside Tang Bingyan’s pillow, then he’d be finished.
He couldn’t understand what Xu Tian was thinking.
Compared to that tramp Lin Miaoyin, CEO Tang was on a whole different level—like heaven and earth.
Any man in his right mind would choose CEO Tang. Yet Xu Tian was still obsessed with that woman… was he brain-dead?
The ride home was silent. Watching Xu Tian cradle the gift box like a treasure nearly drove Ah Wei insane.
Back at the villa, Ah Wei was the first to enter the living room. Tang Bingyan was sitting calmly at the table, sipping her coffee.
“CEO Tang, Xu Tian’s back.”
Tang Bingyan gave a soft “Mm” and then calmly instructed, “Tell the kitchen to serve dinner.”
Ah Wei froze in shock.
Earlier, when he got her call, the chill in her voice had made his blood run cold—even through the phone, he felt the storm coming.
He was certain she had learned that Xu Tian planned to meet Lin Miaoyin.
And yet, for a man who was useless and disloyal, she still had dinner prepared?
Did Xu Tian even deserve that?
Unable to hold it in, Ah Wei said cautiously, “CEO Tang, Xu Tian said he prepared a gift for you… Would you like to take a look?”
He had caught a glimpse of the letters on the pendant earlier and was even more convinced that the necklace was meant for Lin Miaoyin.
Though he knew that, with how much Tang Bingyan loved Xu Tian, she likely wouldn’t really punish him—at the very least, he wouldn’t get to eat dinner in peace.
But what Ah Wei didn’t expect at all was Tang Bingyan’s reaction. Instead of anger, her flawless face showed a trace of… embarrassment?
Ah Wei was completely stunned.
What was going on?
Did CEO Tang… actually think the gift was really for her?
How could the icy, ruthless business queen who dominated the corporate world become so irrational in front of Xu Tian?
Wasn’t it obvious? That gift couldn’t possibly be for her!
At that moment, he suddenly felt that maybe he shouldn’t let her see what was inside the box. He wasn’t sure how hurt she’d be if she did.
Just then, Xu Tian had quietly entered the living room.
He gave Ah Wei an annoyed look. “I was going to surprise my wife. You ruined it.”
Ah Wei blinked, stunned.
Xu Tian was still this calm?
Could it be that he had prepared two gifts?
Then, to Ah Wei’s shock, Xu Tian slowly walked up to Tang Bingyan.
Without beating around the bush, he opened the gift box.
And just like in the surveillance screenshot Xu Rixin had sent, the exact same necklace was revealed.
“Honey, I had this necklace custom-made just for us. The two letters are the last characters of our names.”
Ah Wei: “…”
His brain froze.
Wait… seriously?
The “Y” stood for “Yan”?
All this time he’d been sure it was for “Yin”!
But deep down, he still couldn’t believe it. No way… that gift had to have been for Lin Miaoyin at first!
Since when was Xu Tian so cunning?
Xu Tian ignored whatever Ah Wei might be thinking. Smiling at Tang Bingyan, he asked, “Do you like it, honey?”
Tang Bingyan gave him a cool glance. Her eyes held a trace of warmth, though her lips only parted to utter a half-hearted, “It’s alright.”
Xu Tian looked at her proud yet shy expression—clearly pleased but trying to act nonchalant—and the smile in his eyes deepened.
“Let me put it on for you,” he said.
Without giving her a chance to object, he stepped forward and helped her wear the necklace.
With her fair skin and black dress, the platinum necklace shimmered against her slender neck like it was glowing.
Sitting there quietly on the sofa, she looked like a regal queen—dignified and untouchable.
“You’re stunning,” Xu Tian said sincerely.
Tang Bingyan gave him a cool glance as if to say, “Of course I am.”
And just like that, Xu Tian, unable to resist, leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips.
Tang Bingyan was momentarily stunned.
The next second, she almost instinctively started to respond…
