Chapter 1: The Older Sister Across the Hall Knocks on His Door at Midnight

“This is the crucial moment!”

“Don’t stop!”

Inside a shabby rental apartment, Lin Chen lay alone on his bed, his eyes glued to his phone. Combined with those easily misunderstood words, it was hard not to imagine that he was doing something equally questionable.

Then again, he really wasn’t doing anything particularly respectable. He was reading a comic—a somewhat respectable comic.

Why only somewhat respectable? Well, one could probably tell from where Lin Chen’s hands were… Ahem. Of course, that wasn’t the only reason.

What the comic contained was vastly different from an ordinary “comic.” Reading it somehow gave Lin Chen the feeling that he was studying a literary masterpiece devoted to dissecting human nature!

Although the overall plot of this erotic comic was similar to many others, with the female leads being forced by circumstances to compromise before eventually falling into depravity, Lin Chen felt that what it explored went far beyond simple lust.

Could anyone imagine an erotic comic actually beginning with a detailed account of the protagonist’s entire childhood and upbringing?

From the very beginning, the author painstakingly used the plot and illustrations to analyze exactly how a child born into a wealthy family had grown into the pathetic delinquent he was today.

Why was he so desperate to possess those female leads? Why had he developed so many twisted habits? The author even explained, one by one, exactly why he had chosen those particular female leads as his targets.

It made Lin Chen wonder whether the author himself might be a pervert, perhaps even someone whose mental state wasn’t particularly healthy. Otherwise, how could anyone come up with plots like these?

Lin Chen even suspected that the erotic scenes might have been something the author had reluctantly added just to get the comic approved!

After all, was it really a good idea to stuff an erotic comic with so much text explaining the characters’ backgrounds?

Worse still, this was a long-running comic. With so much text packed into it, readers actually had to sit down and read carefully to understand what was happening. Would anyone really come here for that?

Even finding the spicy scenes required flipping through pages forever~

Just imagine someone eagerly opening the comic, only to search for ages without finding a single exciting scene. They would probably stare at the screen in disbelief and wonder, ‘This is what you’re showing me?’

Lin Chen felt that perhaps he really wasn’t a normal person, because he had genuinely read the entire thing from beginning to end without skipping anything. When he reached the climax of the story, he had even been unable to resist tipping the author.

Lin Chen relaxed against the bed and began recalling the comic’s plot.

For some reason, a lingering sense of dissatisfaction remained in his heart, as though something about the ending simply refused to let him move on.

The story began with the protagonist, who had been left behind in the country by his parents and forced to live alone from childhood.

Although the protagonist had grown up surrounded by material wealth, another part of his life had been painfully barren—his emotional world.

No one had ever truly stayed by his side and lived with him.

Because of that, the protagonist barely understood how normal people were supposed to interact with one another.

His parents had grown accustomed to enjoying their carefree lives abroad. They rarely returned to visit him, almost as though they had forgotten they even had a son. The only thing that arrived without fail every year was the money transferred into his bank account.

No one had ever genuinely cared about him. In the end, the protagonist practically lived like an orphan, without a father or mother to care for him, accompany him, or guide him as he grew up.

Ironically, the words of concern he heard most often came from the nanny, “It’s time to eat.”

So, naturally enough, the protagonist grew up twisted.

He was going through puberty, living alone in a huge house with no one around to discipline him, while a pair of beautiful sisters happened to live directly across from him.

Every possible condition had practically been stacked in his favor.

Most importantly, the older sister actually got drunk one night, mistook his door for her own, and knocked on it herself, practically walking straight into the trap.

Even Lin Chen’s heart stirred when he saw such ridiculously favorable circumstances, much less the protagonist’s. Thus, something unfortunate inevitably happened.

However, that was only one of the smaller stories in the comic.

There were many other characters, and every one of them was portrayed with an unsettling degree of realism. It felt as though, if the same circumstances occurred in the real world, events really might unfold exactly as the comic depicted them.

The thought made Lin Chen’s scalp prickle.

By the end of the story, the younger sister was the first to reach her breaking point and committed suicide by jumping from a building.

The older sister did not follow her younger sister in death. Instead, she returned to the countryside where her parents lived and stayed there to take care of them.

Life simply continued.

Lin Chen couldn’t help sighing as he thought, ‘In the end, it feels like none of them gained anything. Once the protagonist’s momentary passion faded, all that awaited him was another wave of emptiness. Meanwhile, after everything the female lead suffered, she was still the one left to pick up the shattered pieces of her life.’

Afterward, Lin Chen posted those thoughts in the comic’s comment section.

What puzzled him was that he seemed to be the only person there.

‘Such a classic and well-written work, yet I’m the only one reading it? People seriously have no taste.’

Still, when he thought about it, that was perfectly normal. What respectable person would come to a place like this specifically to read a serious comic?

Perhaps the author was actually some incredibly talented artist who had been forced into drawing erotic comics just to make a living. Even the action and panel composition were excellent, making the scenes incredibly immersive.

Lin Chen had become so absorbed while reading that he almost wished he could personally transmigrate into the comic and stop the older sister from knocking on that door.

“What a shame. If I were the protagonist, I definitely would’ve…”

Before Lin Chen could finish his sentence, the entire world suddenly seemed to spin around him. His vision swayed violently, and he felt as though he were about to collapse onto the bed.

“No way?”

Lin Chen’s heart lurched.

“Heaven can bear witness! There’s no way I can die just like this! It’s not like the only exercise I ever do is with my hands! How could my body possibly be this weak?”

“I refuse to accept this!”

Amid his repeated cries of regret and indignation, Lin Chen’s consciousness gradually blurred.

In the end, darkness swallowed him completely.

…

An unknown amount of time passed.

When Lin Chen finally opened his eyes again, the first thing he saw was an unfamiliar ceiling.

He pushed himself upright and stared blankly at the enormous bed beneath him. Compared with the bed in his rental apartment, calling this one luxurious would hardly be an exaggeration. The exquisite furnishings and decorations surrounding him only deepened his confusion.

Then Lin Chen dropped his head back onto the pillow and promptly closed his eyes again.

‘Looks like I’m having a wonderful dream. I even dreamed that I became filthy rich. I can’t waste an opportunity like this. Better go back to sleep and enjoy the rest of it.’

However, the glimpse he had caught just moments ago resurfaced in his mind.

The room’s layout perfectly matched the bedroom in the enormous villa belonging to the protagonist of the comic.

‘Damn it. Looks like my wonderful dream just turned into a nightmare. Please don’t tell me I actually ran into something like this.’

Lin Chen hurriedly tried to fall asleep again, desperately refusing to remember what had happened inside this house in the comic.

The kitchen?

The living room?

The sofa?

He remembered absolutely nothing about any of those places!

Nothing whatsoever!

After lying there for a while, Lin Chen helplessly opened his eyes again.

He was completely awake now.

‘Looks like I really shouldn’t read anything too stimulating before going to sleep.’

Still utterly bewildered, Lin Chen climbed out of bed and stared around the unfamiliar room.

“Why am I still here? Did I overdo it so badly that I’m hallucinating now?”

He immediately pinched his thigh as hard as he could.

Pain shot through him.

Lin Chen froze.

It hurt.

It genuinely hurt.

Only then did the horrifying realization finally sink in.

This wasn’t a dream!

Lin Chen hurried into the bathroom and stared at his reflection in the mirror.

The moment he saw himself, despair flooded his face.

He really had transmigrated into the protagonist’s body!

That gloomy face half-hidden beneath long bangs…

That thin, frail physique…

Every single detail was unmistakable.

All of it was telling Lin Chen the same terrifying truth.

He had transmigrated into the world of the erotic comic he had just finished reading!

At that exact moment, a sudden series of knocks came from outside the door.
