The Villain Plundered the Children of Destiny’s Luck - Chapter 31:
Chapter 31: Saving Her
After rescuing Nalan Feiyan from Yun Zhongjun, Qin Xiao brought her straight back to his own courtyard.
“Thank you for saving me.” Nestled in his arms, Nalan Feiyan’s beautiful eyes looked at Qin Xiao with mixed emotions. If not for him, she might have already fallen into Yun Zhongjun’s hands. Just thinking of the fate of the women who had been captured by that man made her shiver.
“There’s no need to thank me. We’ve at least known each other for some time. Saving you was the right thing to do.” Qin Xiao looked at the woman in his embrace and spoke with a serious expression.
But at that moment, Nalan Feiyan’s face was flushed red, her body trembling as if she were in pain.
“Feiyan, what’s wrong? Are you hurt?” Qin Xiao gently placed her on the bed, his expression filled with concern.
“I… I’m fine, it’s just… I feel very hot…” After being set down, Nalan Feiyan felt a slight sense of relief. But ever since Qin Xiao had carried her away, her body had been heating up uncontrollably, as if a fire was burning inside her.
“This doesn’t look right. Let me check you.” Qin Xiao took her wrist and channeled his true essence into her body to examine her condition.
“Feiyan, you’ve been poisoned. Here, take this detoxification pill.” Qin Xiao pulled a pill from his robe and placed it against her lips.
“Thank you.” She accepted it and swallowed quickly.
“I’ll help you refine it.” Qin Xiao injected his true essence into her again, assisting her in dissolving the medicine’s power.
Three hours passed. The pill’s effects had fully spread through her body, expelling most of the toxins. Her condition improved considerably.
Qin Xiao brushed aside the strands of hair covering her face, revealing her alluring beauty, and sighed in his heart.
“Do you find me beautiful?” Nalan Feiyan, her cheeks crimson, looked at him. Remembering how disheveled she must have looked before made her face even hotter.
“Truly beautiful, like a celestial maiden. If I could take you home as my wife, I’d be the happiest man alive,” Qin Xiao said with a grin.
“You wish!” Nalan Feiyan shot him a glare, though her voice was soft. “So, what do you plan to do next?”
“Feiyan, I like you. Why don’t you marry me?” Qin Xiao kissed her cheek lightly as he spoke.
“You want to marry me? Aren’t you afraid of the trouble it’ll bring? My Nalan Family and the Yue Family will never let you go.” Nalan Feiyan looked at him in surprise. He knew her identity, yet he acted as if it didn’t matter at all.
“Why should I be afraid? They don’t even know it was me who took you,” Qin Xiao said carelessly, smiling without the slightest worry.
“You don’t seriously think I can just go back now, do you? If I return, the Nalan Family will only be put in an even worse position.”
“You—” Nalan Feiyan fell silent. She was clever enough to realize Qin Xiao was right. She had already been missing for some time. By now, news of her being abducted by Yun Zhongjun must have spread far and wide. If Qin Xiao had returned her to her family immediately, perhaps her reputation could have been salvaged. But after being gone for so long, who would believe she had remained untouched?
If she had died, the Nalan Family could have simply arranged another marriage alliance with the Yue Family. But if she returned now, it would only cause more disgrace. For the sake of their honor, the Nalan Family might even prefer she had perished outside.
“So what do you plan to do with me?” she asked softly. Despite everything, she felt a strange fondness for this mysterious man. And she had never liked the Yue Family’s second son anyway. If Qin Xiao’s plan was solid, perhaps staying with him wasn’t so unthinkable.
“Naturally, I’ll marry you,” Qin Xiao said with a faint smile, stroking his chin.
“I don’t even know your full name yet, nor your background,” Nalan Feiyan said quietly. It was unbelievable to think that she was already speaking of eloping with a man she hardly knew.
“Hm! Your husband’s name is Qin Xiao. I am the old patriarch of the Qin Family in Lingfeng City. My main wife passed away early. At home, I still have one concubine, two sons, and seven grandchildren…” Qin Xiao explained casually.
“What? You already have grandchildren?” Nalan Feiyan was stunned. He looked barely thirty, so having a concubine and sons wasn’t strange, but grandchildren too? That was hard to accept.
“Of course. I’m over eighty years old. What’s so strange about having grandchildren?” Qin Xiao said indifferently.
“You’re over eighty?” Nalan Feiyan’s eyes widened. She whispered to herself in disbelief. Qin Xiao could be old enough to be her grandfather.
“What? Do you dislike my age? I’ve already reached the Spiritual Power Realm. Martial artists at this level live for three hundred years. By that count, I’m only in my thirties—still in my prime,” Qin Xiao said, a bit annoyed at her reaction. He left his true cultivation hidden, revealing only what suited his purposes.
