Chapter 101: Jiang Mengyao Changes Her Style

By the end of the press conference, the Jiang family had sent two powerful signals.

First, the Jiang family had officially partnered with Chen Lang, who now held a majority of Jiang Mengyao’s shares.

Second, Jiang Mengyao had invested heavily into the beauty industry—specifically, skincare. She even offered to purchase high-quality skincare formulas from the public at high prices, aiming to develop premium products.

…

That morning, under a bright and sunny sky, outside the Jiang family’s new company—

Ye Chen stood tall, a cold smirk on his lips.

Though his recent days had been spent indulging in love with Pandan, he still kept an eye on Nanjiang’s developments. After all, Satan—once mighty—couldn’t stay idle forever.

In his mind, he saw himself as a hidden dragon, waiting in the shadows… like Zhuge Liang in his thatched hut. His time simply hadn’t come yet.

But the moment he heard about the Jiang family’s formula-buying initiative, Ye Chen’s eyes lit up.

This was destiny!

Why? Because Ye Chen happened to possess a remarkable facial mask formula—one he had discovered by chance in an ancient medical text. Back then, it seemed useless. But now, it was a golden opportunity.

He thought of Jiang Mengyao, always dressed in black, cold and sharp—an alluring woman like her shouldn’t be left out of his harem.

As long as he presented her with the formula, wouldn’t winning her over be easy?

Even if he couldn’t win her heart right away, securing some Jiang family shares would solve his recent money troubles.

Two birds, one stone.

And Ye Chen had another hidden goal.

Once inside the company with the formula, he’d slowly work on Jiang Mengyao… and when the time was right, use a trick or two to kick Chen Lang out of the picture.

Why should Chen Lang get to enjoy the benefits of his formula?

Impossible.

With this in mind, Ye Chen confidently made his way to the Jiang family’s new company, asking the receptionist to let Jiang Mengyao know he had a formula to offer.

Inside the executive office, Jiang Mengyao listened to her assistant’s report.

Ye Chen had brought what he claimed was a top-tier facial mask formula—and wanted 25% of her company’s shares in exchange.

Jiang Mengyao sat calmly in her chair and couldn’t help but chuckle.

Twenty-five percent?

Amused, she leaned back, smiling coldly.

From the moment she decided to stand on Chen Lang’s side, she knew she was stepping away from Ye Chen’s plot. And that meant one thing—they were enemies now.

Even if Ye Chen gave the formula away for free, she wouldn’t take it.

She had no interest in being connected to him in any way.

If Ye Chen had kept a low profile, she might’ve let him be. But showing up like this?

She didn’t mind crushing him on the spot.

With a wave of her hand, she ordered security to throw him out.

But not long after, the assistant returned—Ye Chen was willing to negotiate. He was open to lowering his demand and was asking how much she could offer.

Jiang Mengyao sneered.

This guy really didn’t understand his place.

She gave another direct order—have the first-floor security physically remove him.

…

Outside the building, Ye Chen was pushed away by the guards.

Standing at a distance, he looked back at the company building with fury in his eyes.

He had already lowered his offer!

And she still threw him out?

Clearly, Jiang Mengyao had been brainwashed by Chen Lang. She was so blinded that she couldn’t recognize the brilliance of Satan—unlike someone like Bai Luobing!

He spat toward the ground, eyes filled with resentment.

“Ungrateful woman.”

But she would regret this.

Someone else would want this formula—he was sure of it.

And when he launched his own skincare line and beat the Jiang family to the market…

Jiang Mengyao would come crawling back, begging for forgiveness. She’d have to offer him more than 25%—maybe even the whole company.

Fueled by spite, Ye Chen made up his mind.

He would enter the skincare industry before Jiang Mengyao, dominate the facial mask market in Nanjiang, and leave the Jiang family no way forward.

And for funding and support?

He already had the perfect partner—the Sun family. Specifically, Sun Zhentian.

…

At the same time, a distant figure had witnessed everything outside the Jiang company and quietly reported it to Butler Xiao Zhang, who passed the message to Chen Lang.

Inside the Imperial Palace Villa, Chen Lang sat on the sofa, deep in thought.

According to the original plot, it was Ye Chen’s facial mask formula that allowed the Jiang family to rise again.

That’s why Chen Lang had arranged for someone to keep an eye on the company—to see whether Jiang Mengyao would accept the formula.

But unexpectedly… she had thrown Ye Chen out.

Chen Lang frowned.

This was a direct consequence of the emotional storyline collapsing between Ye Chen and one of the heroines.

Without Ye Chen’s formula, wouldn’t it be difficult for the Jiang family’s company to grow?

A slight headache set in.

…

The next morning, Chen Lang had just woken up when he received a message from Jiang Mengyao.

She said there was something extremely important regarding the company and she needed to talk to him about it.

Chen Lang replied casually: “Just make the decision. I don’t mind.”

But Jiang Mengyao insisted.

She said it concerned the company’s future—and as the majority shareholder, he had to be there in person.

Chen Lang had no choice but to get up, shower, and prepare to leave.

Outside, the sun was blazing—it was autumn’s “tiger season,” and the heat was intense.

Chen Lang sat inside his idling supercar, parked outside Jiang Mengyao’s new company, enjoying the air conditioning.

Suddenly, a figure appeared in front of the building.

Chen Lang didn’t pay attention at first…

Until the figure walked up and tapped on the hood of his car.

He looked up casually—and his sunglasses nearly slipped off his face.

Wait a second…

Was this really Jiang Mengyao?!

He hadn’t recognized her at all.

And honestly, he couldn’t even blame himself.

Because today, Jiang Mengyao’s outfit was…

Absolutely outrageous.

The familiar black outfit was nowhere to be seen.

Instead, Jiang Mengyao wore a white short-sleeved top with a playful cartoon print. Her bottom half was dressed in a short tennis skirt, revealing long, slender legs. With sporty sneakers on her feet, she exuded a refreshing energy, full of youthful vitality.

But the most shocking part—

The once intimidating, queen-like side-part hairstyle was now replaced with soft air bangs. It made her look… kind of cute?

Was this really Jiang Mengyao—the cold and commanding underground queen of Nanjiang?

Had someone kidnapped the real one?

At that moment, Jiang Mengyao leaned casually against Chen Lang’s sports car, tilting her head slightly as she studied his stunned expression.

“Ahem—” Chen Lang cleared his throat, stepped out of the car, and reached out to her with mock seriousness. “Hello, you must be Mengyao’s twin sister. I’m Chen Lang. Nice to meet you for the first time.”

Jiang Mengyao swatted his hand away and smirked, “Twin sister? How tall is this sister then~?”

Then, right in front of him, she spun in place with a light twirl. The hem of her short tennis skirt drew a graceful arc in the air—a dazzling bloom of charm.

“Well? How’s the outfit?”

Chen Lang’s eyes nearly glazed over. He forced himself to stay calm, though his voice was tight. “You gave me a heart attack. I didn’t recognize you at all. Why the sudden change in style?”

“I learned it online,” Jiang Mengyao replied, fluttering her lashes mischievously. “The internet says that if you want to win a man’s heart, you have to keep surprising him. Keep things fresh.”

She grinned playfully. “So? Did it work? Am I catching your heart?”

Chen Lang immediately looked away, flustered. “Weren’t you calling me here for something important about the company?”

“Oh right!” Jiang Mengyao suddenly remembered. She opened the car door and slipped into the passenger seat. “Let’s go—Golden Eagle Mall!”

Chen Lang raised an eyebrow as he started the engine. “The mall? I thought you said this was company-related?”

Jiang Mengyao gave him a mysterious smile. “You’ll understand when we get there.”

Chen Lang narrowed his eyes.

Wait a second… hadn’t he said those exact words to Tang Xiaofu a few days ago?

He looked her over again. “And that outfit of yours… is this what you wear for a company emergency?”

“Of course it is!” she said proudly.

Following her lead, Chen Lang drove to the Golden Eagle Mall, just off the bustling pedestrian street.

As soon as they parked, Jiang Mengyao stepped out of the car and stretched. The motion lifted her top slightly, revealing a pale, flawless waist. Her curvy figure was on full display.

Chen Lang glanced over. “So? Where’s this urgent company issue you mentioned?”

Jiang Mengyao raised her arm dramatically. “The big emergency today is… shopping with me!”

“…Wait, what?” Chen Lang blinked. “You dragged me out here this morning just to shop with you?”

“That’s right!” she said proudly.

Chen Lang was speechless. “How is that a big deal?”

Jiang Mengyao explained with full confidence, “Think about it. I’m the head of the company now. My health directly affects company operations. I’ve been working nonstop—day and night! So to maintain efficiency, I need balance. A healthy mind and body require relaxation.”

She pointed at him. “And you, the major shareholder, have the duty to support me. Today, that means shopping. So behave!”

Seeing that Chen Lang looked ready to refuse, she quickly switched to a pitiful tone.

“I’ve been working hard for your company, you know… I’ve barely eaten or slept these days. Now that things are finally on track, can’t I take one day to relax?”

“I’m working myself to the bone for you. Is it too much to ask the boss to take a walk with me?”

Chen Lang muttered under his breath, “How did this become my fault?”

Jiang Mengyao pushed him forward. “Let’s go! It’s the weekend! You seriously want to sit inside on a sunny day like this?”

Reluctantly, Chen Lang allowed himself to be pulled along.

On the lively pedestrian street, crowds bustled with energy.

As they walked, Jiang Mengyao wrapped her arm around Chen Lang’s.

Chen Lang lowered his voice and whispered, “Hey, people are staring.”

“Hm?” Jiang Mengyao turned to him. “So?”

“It’s just… you holding onto me like this, it’ll make people think we’re a couple.”

Jiang Mengyao replied matter-of-factly, “What’s wrong with that? We’re clearly in a formal superior-subordinate relationship. And this is completely normal behavior between a leader and her subordinate while shopping—it’s basic office etiquette!”

“Wouldn’t you agree, Mr. Major Shareholder?”

Chen Lang: “…”

…

Meanwhile, in a nearby café on the same pedestrian street…

Xiao Mingyue sat across from Cheng Jinjin, slowly stirring her drink as she quietly poured out her thoughts.
