Chapter 63: Chen Shihan is Back

In a café near Mingyue Company, Cheng Jinjin sat by the window, watching everything that had just happened outside. 

She sighed as she saw Xiao Mingyue walk into the company, arm-in-arm with Chen Lang, her face glowing with happiness.

“She looks so happy.” Cheng Jinjin muttered, resting her round face on the table. “And here I am, alone.”

Watching her best friend with Chen Lang, she felt a strange mix of emotions. Just then, a group of onlookers from the earlier scene entered the café, continuing to gossip about what they had witnessed.

“Did you hear? Tomorrow at Mrs. Xiao’s birthday banquet, Chen Lang is giving her a red diamond necklace worth 200 million yuan!”

“Must be nice being rich! Young Master Chen will surely steal the show tomorrow!”

‘This guy really thinks he’s something special!’

“Chen Lang!” She shouted, her voice suddenly filled with emotion.

“What?” Chen Lang turned, sensing something different in her tone. She wasn’t calling him “husband” sweetly anymore but by his name. That wasn’t a good sign.

“What’s wrong, Mingyue?”

“Come here and massage my shoulders!”

“Okay!” Chen Lang walked over, placing his hands on her shoulders, and began to massage gently. “How’s this, Mingyue?”

“Is that all you’ve got? Did you skip breakfast?”

“Got it!” Chen Lang applied a little more pressure, which was immediately followed by a gasp.

“Ah! Chen Lang, are you trying to break my bones?”

Xiao Mingyue turned and glared at him, then pinched his arm hard. 

‘That’ll teach you for flirting with other women!’

Chen Lang winced in confusion. 

He realized that she pinched him on purpose. It was like being fired from a job for something trivial—like entering the office with the wrong foot. The real issue wasn’t the massage strength, but the fact that Xiao Mingyue had just decided she wanted to pinch him.

Women are truly unpredictable creatures!

Just this morning, she had been calling him “husband” sweetly, and now, in the blink of an eye, she had set him up to be pinched. 

‘Thank goodness for my battle body; otherwise, she might’ve broken a nail’

Suddenly, Chen Lang had an idea. He quickly fetched a cup of hot water and brought it to Xiao Mingyue.

“Mingyue, here, drink some hot water!”

Chen Lang replied, “Aren’t your ‘relatives’ visiting soon? Hot water is good for you.”

Standing in his bedroom, Chen Lang stretched and reflected on the day.
