Villain: You Want Me to Follow the Plot and Die? I’m Done Pretending - Chapter 62:
Chapter 62: The Emperor of Wind Mirage Realm:
Inside the spatial tunnel, chaotic currents surged, making it dangerous—one wrong step, and you’d be swept into a fragment of unknown space. The six elders marveled at the sight, struck by how vast and unpredictable the world was. They stood on the jade boat, following Gu Feng until they reached the dark tunnel exit. It led straight into Zhang Sanyan’s house, specifically the second floor.
Gu Feng stepped forward, immediately catching the metallic scent of blood.
Downstairs, Zhang Sanyan ran over, his heart sinking when he saw his father lying there, bleeding. He quickly took out antiseptic powder from his storage pouch, applied it to the wound, and then fed his father a blood-replenishing pill.
“Sanyan…” Zhang Dahuzi slowly regained consciousness.
With a shaky breath, he lifted his uninjured hand to touch his son’s face, a faint smile breaking through. “You’ve grown up.”
“I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you. Don’t avenge me, son. If I die, bury me next to your mother…”
But as the blood-replenishing pill took effect, Zhang Dahuzi realized that instead of weakening, he was actually feeling stronger.
“Daoist Zhang, you’d better get up. The floor’s cold,” one of the elders remarked, holding back a chuckle.
“Oh… yes, of course.” Embarrassed, Zhang Dahuzi stood, but the wound on his shoulder reopened with the movement. His Foundation Establishment base wasn’t enough for limb regeneration, so he would need the severed arm to reattach it properly.
“Was it recent?” Gu Feng asked, inspecting the wound.
“City Lord’s men…” After hearing what had happened, Gu Feng couldn’t help but sigh at the timing.
Without hesitation, he led the elders straight to the City Lord’s mansion, scanning the place with his spiritual sense.
In a flash, he knew there was one Nascent Soul Realm cultivator, one at the Golden Core stage, and the rest were Foundation Establishment Realm cultivators. With six Nascent Soul Realm elders on his side, the mansion’s sole Nascent Soul Realm expert soon sensed their arrival and quickly appeared above the mansion.
“What is the meaning of this, sirs?” he demanded, facing them from the sky.
“We’ve come to retrieve something that doesn’t belong to you.” Gu Feng replied coldly. With a flick of his wrist, he rendered the man unconscious.
Descending onto the mansion, Gu Feng’s impact shook the entire place.
“Who dares to cause trouble in my home? I am Feng Liaotian, Lord of Fisherman’s City, carrying the Emperor’s Edict! Who dares challenge me?” A stocky middle-aged cultivator appeared, holding a golden talisman radiating strong, golden energy. As the gold light swept over them, the elders felt a slight discomfort, though it didn’t affect them significantly.
Gu Feng regarded the man coolly.
“You’re not cultivators of the Wind Mirage Realm!” Feng Liaotian noticed the Edict had little effect on these strangers. His heart sank as he realized these people were probably from beyond the Wind Mirage Realm. “Why have you come here?”
Gripping the Edict tightly, he stepped back cautiously.
“Today, you stole a fifth-level beast core,” Gu Feng said, eyes narrowing at the Edict. “Return it, and I’ll spare your life.”
The Edict felt eerily familiar, reminding Gu Feng of the system’s aura. But the system remained suspiciously silent.
“Stole? That was mine, taken back from a thief!” Feng Liaotian sensed hesitation in his opponents. The fifth-level core was priceless. Why give it up over a few accusations?
“As the Emperor of the Wind Mirage Realm, I govern all cultivators here. You’ll suffer a swift retribution for this insolence!” He crushed the talisman in his hands, surrounding himself with a radiant golden barrier.
Gu Feng watched, sensing familiarity with the barrier’s formation. An elder stepped forward and struck it with all his might, but the barrier held firm, glowing even brighter.
“This is a gift from His Majesty! You Nascent Soul Realm experts can’t possibly break it!” Feng Liaotian sneered, “You’ve destroyed my mansion, injured my guards, and now you won’t escape. I’ve already alerted the capital!”
Just then, sounds filled the sky as a large group of sword-wielding cultivators descended, all dressed in matching uniforms, each at the Nascent Soul Realm.
The elders turned to Gu Feng, waiting for his orders.
“System, doesn’t this golden barrier seem familiar?” Gu Feng asked quietly, surveying the scene.
Inside, he began accepting the truth behind Heaven Dao’s warning. The system remained silent, but Gu Feng felt certain—this world was indeed just one of many stages in a much larger game.
