Villain: You Want Me to Follow the Plot and Die? I’m Done Pretending - Chapter 63:
Chapter 63: The Stage Is Set:
The system fell silent. It seemed like playing dead wouldn’t help anymore, especially since Gu Feng had already started making his move.
The sky darkened, changing colors as Gu Feng unleashed more of his power than he’d ever used before. His divine sense extended, and the world fell still.
Feng Liaotian stood frozen, feeling like he was caught in an invisible web, unable to move. Even his golden protective shield shattered instantly, leaving him defenseless.
In the blink of an eye, his soldiers dropped lifelessly, their Nascent Souls scattered. It all happened in a single thought.
[Host, stop! If you keep going, Heaven Dao will notice for sure!]
The system had finally understood what Gu Feng’s earlier questions meant. But what could it do?
It wanted to impose punishments or send thunder strikes to restrain Gu Feng, but what would that accomplish? It wouldn’t affect him in the slightest, and it might even encourage him to rebel further. The system was seething with frustration but kept quiet, knowing that it couldn’t risk revealing the truth to him.
“Seems like Heaven Dao has bigger plans for you,” Gu Feng said calmly. He crouched down, picking up the talisman that had fallen to the ground. As the golden light faded, the talisman reverted to its original form, now devoid of its mysterious energy. Beside it, Feng Liaotian lay dead.
The talisman’s aura had felt eerily familiar. Gu Feng opened the system’s shop and started browsing through the items, discovering that this talisman matched those available for purchase.
“So,” he murmured with a faint smile, “I’m not the only one here with a system.”
The system’s voice grew cold. [What are you planning?]
“Me? I’m just an ordinary host. What could I possibly do?” Gu Feng chuckled, raising a hand to his temple. Suddenly, he locked the system in his mind, blocking its outgoing signals and effectively trapping it. The system had no choice but to watch, unable to stop him.
[Don’t do this!] It cried, but Gu Feng silenced it with a single thought.
Having cut off communication, he turned to the elders who had accompanied him. “I’ll handle the rest on my own. You don’t need to follow me.”
The elders nodded, their respect for him evident. Gu Feng’s display of power had left them in awe.
Once he’d left, one of the elders finally spoke, his voice a little shaky, “Did you see that? He took out 37 Nascent Souls in an instant, not giving them a chance to fight back. Even their Nascent Souls were destroyed before they could escape!”
“His power far exceeds that of our previous Sect Master.”
“If he becomes the next Sect Master, I have no objections.”
“Nor do I.”
In the Wind Mirage Realm, cultivation was different. Rather than being led by sects, as in other realms, here the empire reigned supreme, with cultivators serving the emperor. Even a minor official would be a Golden Core Realm cultivator. In the emperor’s grand hall, Feng Jianbai, the emperor himself, was sipping wine and watching a dancer with a captivated expression when a fierce wind swept through.
He frowned. “Close the hall doors!”
“As the emperor of such a mighty realm, you should’ve sensed an enemy approaching long before you ordered the doors closed.” Gu Feng said, appearing beside him like a shadow.
“Impudent!” Feng Jianbai leaped back, raising his hand to cast a fire spell, engulfing Gu Feng in flames. But in the next moment, the fire was gone, extinguished as quickly as it had appeared.
Feng Jianbai froze, stunned. This flame, an exclusive item from the system shop, was supposed to be impossible to extinguish!
The system in Feng Jianbai’s mind screamed, “This isn’t an ordinary first-level realm cultivator! He’s not part of the original novel!”
In a panic, he exchanged points from his shop for a stronger protective shield—a far superior version of the one he’d given to Feng Liaotian.
A golden barrier formed around him, shining with intense energy, as Feng Jianbai prepared to face the true threat before him.
